What were there? Three story lines this week.

I could not keep track of who was doing what in the dark web assassin plot.

El Muerte (or whatever his name was) was behind it? Or working for someone?

Just be thankful the Bailey-Hired-An-Assassin plot was wrapped up in a bow in the time it takes to tie a bow.

Oops. I just realized that with the guest star Fibbie involved in continuing to catfish and catch murder-for-hire folks, the Bailey plot will probably come back to haunt us.

This is annoying. In a recent interview about this episode, showrunner Alexi Hawley really downplayed Bailey's criminal act, saying: “To be honest, for me, the Malvado storyline really was there to show the trauma that Bailey had been through. ... It was really an emotional storyline for her about with Jason’s escape and him coming for her and having her have to face some things that she actually hadn’t admitted to herself about what Jason had put her through. And Malvado being sort of this sort of primal fear-based action that she took and the impact that that had on her storyline and her relationship with Nolan was the thing that was the most interesting about that to me. We purposely tried to keep what she revealed to Malvado as being ultimately just peripheral. He did find Jason on his own and all that kind of stuff.”

Going forward, her action and Nolan's, in covering up for her, will likely be forgotten and ignored - just like Nolan's relationship with Lucy in S1.

The dark web thing seems to tie into the omnipotent AI from a couple episodes back.  That's probably leading into the season finale.  It seems to be trying to entangle itself into all the primaries lives.

I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of the Bailey/Malvado nonsense.

I did like Miles taking it upon himself to update the training videos and roping Tim into doing it in return for Miles playing football.  And of course Smitty wasn't going to be helpful, lol.

I lik  ed Celina taking charge and dragging her mom away from that podcaster and helping find the young woman and her baby.

Not sure what the point was to Nyla and James' storyline since TPTB didn't seem to pay it much attention.

I remember the old joke that all LAPD officers were ex high school football players from the valley. An injured knee brace wearing ex college football star doesn't seem to be much of a ringer to me.

And of course, SuperBailey scored the goal for the FD.

The famous pick-six. But if we are talking super powers then Officer Chen busting through the plate glass window with a superhero roll

I guess Amazon is responding to an ongoing boycott by infiltrating The Rookie among other shows. As a person who watches tv on delay just so that I can FF over commercials I really did not need one from Bailey!

And Nolan threw out her equipment? That is grounds for divorce in my book, but Bailey just smiles and orders everything new. I mean nothing can hold Super Bailey back!

The hit man plot was convoluted to say the least. And that super entitled rich dude taking out hits on people who annoy him? C’mon. As if the  whole hitmen hiring hitmen plot wasn’t  ridiculous enough. Though the two “Russians” were pretty amusing.

As a viewer, I was relieved when Malvado was killed. No more of that stupid plotline.

I don't care that he died; it was the extremely relieved (almost gleeful) looks that I found disgusting. To be honest, I would have preferred if he was alive with Nolan and Bailey sweating about whether he was going to tell about Bailey's involvement but for the writers to resolve it quickly not drag it out.

That's fair. But if I were the person who was being hunted by a serial killer, or my loved one was, I'd definitely be relieved/gleeful if they were killed in a shootout.  I guess I still have some savage in me. :)
