Detour: Coconuts or Coral?

Coconuts: Use a bicycle to deliver sixty coconuts to a beach cafe and stack them up Bali slyle.
Coral: Attach five species of coral onto a frame and plant it on the ocean floor.

Hmm. . . . If they're careful enough, Scott & Lori and Jonathan & Ana could both beat the U-Turn.

Han & Holden and Brett & Mark are doing Coconuts.  So are Nick & Mike.  Carson & Jack are doing Coral.  Alyssa & Josiah are doing Coconuts.  Melinda & Erika are also doing Coconuts.  Jonathan & Ana are doing Coconuts first.  Pops & Jeff are doing Coconuts.

Oof.  Coral is more intricate than it seemed.

Interesting. Coconuts would appear hard for me because I never learned how to ride a bike. None of the Racers look to be hopping on the seat.

So Jonathan & Ana failed their first attempt at Coral.  They didn't check like Carson & Jack did.  They fail again.

Oops!  Alyssa & Josiah lost a coconut!  They and Nick & Mike unload their coconuts.

Nice of Carson & Jack to coach Scott & Lori for Coral ahead of time.  They clearly want Jonathan & Ana out.

Brett & Mark and Carson & Jack are the first two teams out of the Detour.  Both of the gay teams are in the front!:)

Damn.  How many tragic incidents has Ana had?!  Now she almost drowned, too?!

I have no sympathy for Jonathan and Ana for not paying attention to the pattern of coral, but I really do feel for her about the whole swimming in the ocean part.  I'm not a strong swimmer, either, and I need glasses just to find the ocean.

I had a feeling Carson and Jack would give Lori & Scott some direction on the coral.  

Did Lori & Scott get 30 coconuts on the bike and do it in just 2 trips?  How did they manage that when other teams were struggling with 15?

Well, the U-Turn us giving us a few new teams in the front.

Alyssa & Josiah pass Coconuts, while Jonathan & Ana finish Coral and are off to Coconuts.

Scott & Lori, meanwhile, finish Coconuts and are off to Coral.

Pops & Jeff clear Coconuts.

Melinda & Erika near completion of Coconuts, as do Han & Holden.

Why would Melinda & Erika help Jonathan & Ana?!

As supportive as Jonathan was with Ana and the swimming, he's really being an ass about the coconuts.

Roadblock: Who wants to meet their match?

The teams must match a surfer with an identical sticker on their surfboard.

Jack does it, as does Brett.

Surfboards in Bali.  Didn't we see this before?  Without the swimming part, that is.

I think there have been several surfboard related challenges over the years.

Oops.  Jack thought that it'd be easy to find his board, but none match his color.

Scott & Lori are making progress in Coral.

But they fail.  But Scott thinks that he knows what's wrong.

The check on the coconut stacking is a bit of a joke.  I have to assume they're standing just off camera doing the real count.

Nick & Mike get passed for Coconuts.  So do Melinda & Erika.  And good of Erika to point out that they're the last women's team left.  Indicates how weak Jackye & Lauren, Courtney & Jasmin, and especially Bernie & Carrigain all were.

Scott & Lori are repeatedly failing at Coral, and they don't know what's wrong.

And Josiah takes the Roadblock.

Brett is right and gets a clue!  He and Mark are now in first and heading for the Pit Stop!

Jack just figured out that he needs to just match the decal, not the color and the decal.

He finally finds a matching decal on a different-colored surfboard.

Josiah gets his board and goes out.  And his dad sucks in teaching him how to swim.

Jack completes the Roadblock.  He and Carson are in second.
