dancingdreamer March 28 Share March 28 Owen and Teddy = open marriage. Hands up who saw that about to happen. ( eye roll) all hands are up. This was a pretty boring episode, again. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152580-s21e12-ridin%E2%80%99-solo/#findComment-8619165

Sure: take two egotistical, hyper-competitive people who appear to be sexually compatible but lack patience, trust, and communication skills, and get them to invite more sexual partners into their relationship — yeah, that will build intimacy and investment in their marriage! It’s a wonder they don’t hear maniacal “BWAH HA HA” supervillain-style laughter when the door closes behind them on their way out of their sessions. If they are going to do this, they need someone to help them negotiate the parameters. It is more than just saying no emotional involvement. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152580-s21e12-ridin%E2%80%99-solo/#findComment-8619358

Well, to be fair, mom & baby are probably being discharged tomorrow, and he may not have another chance before then to cover up his little white lie that he had already installed it. Why not take advantage of two highly trained medical professionals to help you out? 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152580-s21e12-ridin%E2%80%99-solo/#findComment-8619557

Yes, and it isn't like either of them has anything better to do than install a car seat. It tells you what kind of episode it was that in the two weeks since we last saw them, I had completely forgotten Linc and Jo were engaged. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152580-s21e12-ridin%E2%80%99-solo/#findComment-8620094
statsgirl Sunday at 02:37 AM Share Sunday at 02:37 AM I'm getting tired of so many characters using sex as a drug when they're felling bad. I know that it started from the pilot episode but after 21 seasons, it's a very tired trope. I also never understand how the research stuff on this show works because it has nothing to do with how real life works+. Do they pull it out of their hats? Meredith published the research so Koracick could use it as a jumping off point but it was still Meredith and Amelia's research. That should count for something when deciding who gets money for further research. The problems with research on males only has been well known since Carol Tavris published Mismeasure of Woman: Why Women are Not the Better Sex, the Inferior Sex, or the Opposite Sex in 1992 so no one should have been surprised that Meredith was offended that Koracik was using only male mice. Koracik is studying mice, Meredith and Amelia were going to do a retrospective human study (if I understand correctly). Why not fund partially? Neither can be that much money, not like a drug trial. The irony is that in March 2025, Meredith's study on female mice would be considered DEI and not eligible for federal funding money and probably rejected by private. 2 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152580-s21e12-ridin%E2%80%99-solo/#findComment-8620674

It is more than just saying no emotional involvement. No doubt, but it seems to me like a solution to a problem they don’t actually have. They need more emotional involvement with each other — is the issue that either of them has sexual needs that aren’t being met? Doesn’t seem like it to me. Owen has walled himself off (from what I understand this is business as usual for him) and Teddy, frankly, just seems easily bored. Filling out their sexual bingo cards ain’t gonna fix that mess. Edited to add: @statsgirl, They’re definitely pulling it from somewhere. Yes, all well known even since before 1992, and yet in 2025, women with heart attacks are still being treated for "anxiety" and other bullshit. It's still happening out there. In the last year, I have actually heard a medical professional (male) say "women don't get heart attacks." 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/152580-s21e12-ridin%E2%80%99-solo/#findComment-8622716
