I HAAAAATEEEEE this stupid, overdone, shy puppy-love slow burn "romance" thing they have between the young male nurse and the other one. By far the worst aspect of the show. It is absolutely exhausting to watch.

Other than that, it was fine.

I thought this one was pretty good. I enjoyed Alex and Ron trying to throw each other under the bus with Joyce. I also got a kick out of the family of the dying man fighting over his deathbed. When Matt accidentally got socked in the mouth, the sister said "You punched the little boy doctor!" LOL. 

The thing with Bruce, though, was stupid. 

I did not recognize Marin Hinkle as the sister (?). When I saw her name in the closing credits I was like "where was she?"

When he said he was 38, I was very surprised.  I would have thought he was in his mid-40s, at the youngest.  I just rolled my eyes at his using the morgue for cryotherapy.  To me, the show has trouble with the line between "what a wacky hospital" and "these people just seem stupid."  

In terms of the terminal patient and the family feuding, I found this interesting because The Pitt also had just this storyline going on in it's last couple of episodes.  It's hard to compare, if only because The Pitt is a 50 minute drama and was able to do the storyline over multiple episodes, while St. Denis gave it what, 7 or 8 minutes as a B plot?  What was interesting is both shows offered or hinted at a version of The Four Things that Matter Most that you say to a loved one when they are dying: "I love you," "Thank you," "I forgive you," and "Please forgive me."   

I did want someone to let Alex know that you only get the executor fee after the person is dead, so it's unlikely the money is going to help her pay for her kid's college.

I didn't mind it.  That seems to fit perfectly with his character!

I enjoy their banter.  It's nice to see the nurses & doctors good-naturedly sparring with each other.

This must be the least busy hospital ever, since 2 nurses can sit around half the day just waiting for a patient to die.

I'm glad that at least Matt spoke up about all the money he spent on food for the family.  I had originally thought that he was going to get it for free from food services (patient food.)

That, and it doesn't really make sense for Joyce to consider choosing someone who's both older than her and male (Ron) unless it's a spouse/partner because statistically she'd have to start the whole process over, when she's older.

By the way, Alex could renounce the worthless Sear's stock Joyce designated as the executor fee, and instead claim the Oregon statutory amount:

It's the best thing about the show, other than Ron's asides. David Alan Grier's facial expressions are also great.

I tune in for a comedy and get informed on something I knew nothing about!!  I'm executor on a family member's will, so I would not expect or accept a fee, but it's interesting to know that there is such a thing.  

Joyce was so organized that Alex shouldn't have any trouble figuring out how to manage her estate if she kicks the bucket first.  Being executor on a will in which you are NOT left many details is a lot of work! Even with all of your legal ducks in a row, there are still a lot of hurdles to jump over.  I'm looking at you, local social security office.  😜
