S03.E02: Quarterfinal #2: Melissa Peterman, Neil deGrasse Tyson and Jackie Tohn

Team Neil deGrasse Tyson!  Melissa Peterman is a little hit and miss with her quick wit, but when it's firing she's pretty funny, especially when she's being self deprecating, so that could lead to some funny moments when she messes up.  Jackie Tohn I don't know by name, and didn't recognize her face in a picture, but when I checked her credits she was in a couple episodes of The Good Place.  Maybe I'll recognize her "in person".

Kinda surprised at some of NdGT’s wagers and (non)responses, given his reputation as a know it all. I remember him as a guest on Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me, and I was impressed with how he logicked out all the quiz answers. 

Melissa Peterman tends to play characters I don’t root for, but I was impressed with her here.

But, gotta love a come-from-behind winner! I sorta recognize her from that show with Kristin Bell (not The Good Place, the one with the rabbi), maybe?

I had a feeling Melissa Peterman was a competitive person.  Even so, I was a little surprised she did so well.  I expected Neil to do better.  I was surprised he didn't know Hobbes, even as the stuffed comic strip tiger.

I have no idea who the person is who won, but good for her. 

FJ was an instaget -- I was Kermit flailing along with the contestants when the category was revealed.  And I loved Ken quoting the Muppet Show theme song when he was about to reveal the clue.

I got most of the TS, of which there were so so many.

Yes and yes, but Melissa Peterman seems like of the 3, she would have a better chance of going on to best future opponents. 
But maybe Jackie Tohn will do better than I expect.

Color me flabbergasted that Neil Degrasse Tyson didn't win.  Not that being incredibly educated in one field means one is great at everything, but still.

I remember her being a contestant on American Idol ages ago.  2009, according to Wikipedia.

I have heard of the philosopher but wouldn't have come up with the correct answer without the stuffed tiger.

I said Animal.  Totally forgot about Gonzo.  It's been years since I last watched The Great Muppet Caper.  Need to see it again.  And yes, Ken quoting the Muppet Show theme song was great.

That was a great game. I was yelling Gonzo at the tv he's my favorite Muppet. Neil proved that you have to something about everything to win Jeopardy. I was happy to see the celebrities picked smaller charities for donations.
