possibilities January 7 Share January 7 Well... I get how upsetting it is to find out about the lie, but I also thought it was childish of Oliver to stand up his boyfriend and also decide "I'm falling for you" is bullshit-- he was soooo rude and unkind and irresponsible that I just don't care about his trauma when he's acting like this. I also thought that blaming Best Friend Doctor (whose character name I cna't remember right now) along with his terrible parents was uncalled for (I'm speaking of when he kicked her out of the house along with his parents). She was on his side! And Dad coming back basically because he needs Oliver to be his doctor? Also selfish and shitty. Likewise, Erika lying about taking meds struck me as quite a shitty move. I personally hate taking meds, and will do a lot of stuff to avoid doing it, but that dosn't mean I lie about it or dump on my friends who take them I liked everybody else more than usual, though. 3 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8548787

Agree with everything. I thought Oliver and the surgeon guy were cute together and I was enjoying the building relationship. Hate that it ended on such a sour note. I am sure if Oliver just said, "hey I just found out my dad is alive and my mother has been lying to me for decades," he would have been supportive or given space (whatever Oliver asked for). Hopefully if we get a second season Oliver can explain himself. At least with his friend he seemed to not be holding a grudge since he talked to her later. I wish they had Oliver respond to his dad at the end. It is pretty crappy to only come back to ask for help and that has to make it all worse. And Erika, it makes no sense that she would lie when the other interns are totally understanding of what happened and how meds can help. Although I couldn't tell, was she stealing pills from Dana or did she have her own prescription? I can't imagine her not being able to get a prescription, but that would be a reason to lie. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8548989
possibilities January 8 Share January 8 I hadn't thought about her maybe stealing the pills. I did wonder why she would think that putting her pills in the medicine cabinet where they are obvious to be seen would work if it's a secret. So she probably is stealing them. But that is crazy, too. First of all, surely it will be noticed. Don't people know how long their prescriptions are supposed to last? If pills are missing, it will be noticeable very quickly. Maybe Ericka is a former addict and that's why she doesn't want to get her own. But that is still pretty ridiculous how she's behaving. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8549067
AnimeMania January 8 Share January 8 Yes, Ericka was stealing Dana's pills, she probably wanted to try them first to see how they felt before getting her own prescription. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8549076
peeayebee January 9 Share January 9 I also didn't pick up that she was stealing Dana's pills. I think the thing is that Erika believes she's weak if she relies on drugs. That seems pretty simplistic but that's what I'm going with. I thought it was odd that Noah was always smiling. I'm wondering if that is significant, like it has something to do with what's wrong with him. I dunno. Honestly, I really don't like any of the interns, or whatever they're called, particularly Dana. Her manner reminds me of that one character from Bridgerton. Eloise Bridgerton. (I just looked her up.) Pushing too hard to be clever and amusing. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8549888
AnimeMania January 9 Share January 9 I never understood why Grandpa had to be told that his Granddaughter died since he was standing right there when it happened, everybody around him would have had an immediate strong reaction and would want to know who the person was that was still in the elevator. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8550056
gerdialiaVA January 9 Share January 9 This show is a mini "Saving Hope" reunion: first with the stalker patient played by Julia Taylor Ross and now with the ex-wife played by Stacey Farber. It's nice to see those two again. Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8550183

Wasn't the whole deal that Erika just felt guilty and couldn't face him? He knew his granddaughter died. 1 Link to comment https://forums.primetimer.com/topic/151308-s01e13-the-man-who-can%E2%80%99t-see-faces/#findComment-8550311
shrewd.buddha January 9 Share January 9 We just happened upon these last two episodes because of the January shortage of new shows.. .. Anyways - the mental health concept is admirable but the execution comes off as being written by people who have not had a lot of exposure to hospital protocols or the hectic schedules of real-life doctors. But maybe in this Hallmark village there is always time to hang out at the local church from time to time.. I also enjoy the Hallmark Channel touch of single, workaholic doctors and administrators who manage to dress in high fashion (with heels) and keep their houses prepped for an Architectural Digest photoshoot. kwnyc January 10 Share January 10 I was kind of hoping the granddaughter survived (albeit with injuries). And I've never cared for Mandy Patinkin as an actor, so I can't stand long-lost dad. What an asshole! He leaves his kid in the woods with a gun, but is suddenly lucid enough to realize how bad that was. So instead of manning up and apologizing, he arbitrarily decides to fake his own death because that's better! You can understand a bit more of why Dr. Mom is so controlling, but she could have handled it much better. And where HAS Noah been? He's lucid, well-dressed, and apparently self-sufficient. Though still capable of breaking into his ex-wife's house. He probably has another family. I called that he was sick and ONLY his son could heal him the minute his identity was revealed. I agree she thinks taking the pills make her weak, but it still seems weird to steal them. Lying I get. I like Dana, but then I also like Eloise on Bridgerton. The only intern I really dislike is the former football player guy. On 1/10/2025 at 9:34 AM, kwnyc said: What an asshole! The father was clearly suffering from a mental health crisis and was in no state to decide he could never see his son again. She should have gotten him help and told Oliver his father was in a hospital or let him run off and told Oliver that his father abandoned him. But he is an asshole because he is now clearly lucid and has been for awhile and didn't bother to come back until he needed help.
