chitowngirl November 7 Share November 7 When Emmett sees Bobbie drowning in work, he devises a clever ruse to give her a much-needed day off fishing, all under the guise of reviving the tavern's Fish Fry Mondays; Isabella dives into the world of bartending with Gabby. Link to comment
rcc November 9 Share November 9 I just can't with the Isabella character. I thought she would be better after the pilot, but no. She brings the show down. Melissa and the other regulars are very good with Reba. 1 2 Link to comment
Browncoat November 9 Share November 9 Is Isabella learning the same lesson every week? Hasn't it sunk in yet that she has no real world experience and she needs to step back and learn from those who do? Good grief! Her trying to school Melissa (I want to call her Barbara Jean because I can't remember her character's name here) in bartending, something Melissa's character has been doing longer than Isabella has been alive, is ridiculous. My new assistant tried that with me earlier this week -- I just gave her "the look" and said, "Yeah, I got this, but thanks." I did like the scenes in the fishing cabin, though. 2 2 Link to comment
seacliffsal November 9 Share November 9 Yeah, I think if they want to save this show they need to write out Isabella. I actually enjoyed everyone else this episode. But, Isabella is too entitled and arrogant. Have her decide to go get a graduate degree or something. Let's just have wacky hijinks with the other characters and maybe bring in some tavern 'regulars.' There is the basis of an enjoyable show here, but not as long as they keep Isabella. 4 Link to comment
MaryMitch November 9 Share November 9 I don't know why Isabella got so snippy at that guy who wanted a drink. How was he supposed to know her name? She wasn't wearing a name tag. Calling a bartender "honey" in the South isn't an insult. 3 Link to comment

Your description sounds a lot like "Cheers." Which was a very enjoyable show. 2 Link to comment
SHERMDOG November 10 Share November 10 Hey Isabella...maybe every episode you don't have to wear an outfit with a midriff.. I liked this actress in The Baker and the Beauty.. do NOT care for her character here. She's a bitch...and not even an enjoyable one. As always. .JMHO!! 1 Link to comment
Marley November 14 Share November 14 If Isabella wasn’t there I would like this show so much better. She sucks so bad. 1 1 Link to comment
Browncoat November 14 Share November 14 I think if they'd started the show without Isabella, and established the Happy's Place people first, it might have been better. Maybe even have Happy himself in the first episode, although his dying in the pilot (instead of just before) might be weird. Then bring in Isabella in the second or third episode. Probably would still need a different actor, though. 1 Link to comment

He could have easily brought her into his world before he died. 6 Link to comment

Yes, it’s absolutely idiotic. He knew about her. But he ignored her her whole life and didn’t even support her. But he left her half the tavern when he died. But he certainly did not care enough to be in her life. It just makes me sick. Plus the fact that I cannot stand this girl. And don’t forget how she screamed at the woman who wrongly I have to admit yelled out where is her drink, something about Boomer. I hate when younger people call people older than them. Boomers as an insult. Go to hell beotch. Link to comment

I didn't have a problem with Isabella at first, even if it really makes zero sense that Happy would leave her half the bar, but she just gets worse and worse. The show really would be better off without her. It must be doing OK though since they just ordered more eps. Edited Thursday at 11:45 PM by peachmangosteen Link to comment

But she doesn’t have to insult an entire generation of people who are fed up with hearing the word boomer used in a derogatory way by a little brat. 1 Link to comment
peachmangosteen Friday at 10:25 PM Share Friday at 10:25 PM (edited) Well, you did just do exactly what she did lol. She should have probably called the woman Karen though. That would've been a bit more apt. Edited Friday at 10:28 PM by peachmangosteen Link to comment

Have to go look that up-I can’t remember seeing her in anything, so if she’s had successful parts, maybe her performance here is bad direction. If the character is bold enough to walk in the door, she shouldn’t be so “knee-jerk” defensive/aggressive. It does tend to be obnoxious. 2 Link to comment

And the others who just kiss her ***. 1 Link to comment
