Corona is a real psychopath. She warns him that’s she’s just been soft-whatever bullshitting him and she’s going to pop off on him. He tries to respond by saying he’ll just try to make her laugh, and she dead faced says, “Wrong answer.”

That woman is going to hurt you. Seriously hurt you, emotionally if not physically or both. At least she’s giving you a heads up.

She seems to think that calling it something cute like “popping off” and acknowledging it makes it okay. It doesn’t.

Okay what are these banana chips? I was thinking something like the dried sliced banana chips you get at Trader Joe’s but these look like something cracker-like covered in cheese and baked??

Corona doesn't seem aware that not all cultures manifest their emotions the same way as Americans.  Ingi is responding to her the same way as other Icelanders I have known.  He's interested in what she's telling him, responding positively but pretty low-key.  He's not going to go Cuckoo For Coco Puffs, no matter how much she pokes at him to get a rise out of him.

CORRECTION: Baked cheesy bananas hand made in a very dodgey makeshift kitchen.

ETA: That may, or may not, adhere to any legal hygiene rules.

Just because she's created a saying that she hopes will excuse her future bitchy behavior, doesn't mean we will accept aforesaid behavior.

I'm enjoying the introduction of Joanne and Sean, but I question the need to keep their marriage a secret? I especially worry if Sean is the reason they married so quickly, and/or didn't tell their families. If he's the one driving this narrative, then he presents a huge red flag.

Jesus, TataTears' parents' house is enormous looking from the front. Glad to see them donning hair nets and gloves before James shredded his knuckles the cheese over the bananas. Lord. TataTears is completely nuts, but who in the hell rolls into their in-laws' home without telling them they're staying with a huge amount of debt and no financial plan? I love how TataTears is all, "We need to make calculations." Dear god in heaven.

And TataTears' dad grinning like a Cheshire cat thinking "oooh, free labor!" And then hearing that he's going to need to pay off their car debt he's probably like, "oh, shit." But he is right about taking loans. James was a gaslighting dick during that conversation as TataTears is a drama queen, I totally understand her being frustrated with the translation + feeling like a burden. I've had to translate for my entire family, including my husband, multiple times and it's heavy and it can absolutely suck. While TataTears escalated that shit quick, James made it all about himself. 🙄

Sean is pretty fit for 38. Wait - he doesn't drink AND he tans? My Irish blood could never. I love Joanne's story with Sean, but there's no way I could leave my 12yo child for a month at a time and then see him for only 2 weeks. I get he's got (probably) a great dad, but I couldn't leave my kids - especially not at the age of 12. Why did they get married two whole assed years ago and not live together? There have been a few couples that have done this, but it's usually for immigration purposes. AND keep it quiet? So odd.

Agreed with the others r.e. Corona's "my person," "pop off," and "soft partnering" is ... ugghhh. Her blaming Ingi for "disrupting her life" and plan. She's admitting that he's only seen her in vacay mode and that she downplays/shields him from things, but yet she expects him to be a mind-reader. 🙄 He's very Icelandic in that he's practical - one step at a time, but he's also a dude who's never been in a relationship before. Corona, honey, there's literally a reason for that. Even the most in-tuned individual who reads people for a living isn't a mind reader. Lord.

Hey, Statler, maybe get a tattoo that tells us you're "neurospicy" so you don't have to constantly blame your shortcomings on it - you're doing a huge disservice to those of us with various neurospicy diagnoses by using it as a scuttlebutt. Also, maybe do some research on "van life" before you hop on the plane to live it? But that's a pretty sweet little van! ❤️ I was expecting something waaaaay older and crappy.

I'm thinking there's a reason she keeps going to Ireland yet he never comes to the U.S. & it's not because of his daughter or her kids. I'm sure we'll find out the full reason but he probably has something dodgy in his past & some sort of police record that stops him from getting entry into the country, there's no other reason I can think of that makes any sense.

So many of the major brands of TV dinners, cookies and so on we buy, started out just like this though.
