Yeah No August 1 Author Share August 1 No surprises here. As usual everything is fake, from Glenn wanting to show up at Hunter's dates to the Christmas costume party. The show is scraping the barrel now. I miss her old friends, Ashley and Heather. They are not on the show anymore and one wonders if they had a falling out with the Twit. 6 Link to comment
Pi237 August 1 Share August 1 Her new family seem like very nice people, but I'm so bored. Her Dad, hoping the Karen stalking was fake because Ew!!!! I'd hoped this season would be more with the friends because Sorry I don't want to follow Glen, don't want to hear anymore sad Babs stuff, don't care about Jaime's wedding. This stuff is only interesting to other family members. We all have our own boring families lol And what happened to Todd? He seems like hes afraid to go off script. Lenny and Buddy and their wives seem like background dressing. They show up, don't say much and kind of fade out of frame. I don't need people fighting like the Housewives, but a half hour of 'dads here!' 'Omg my dad is here on my date' 'this his their second date and my dads here' 'we've only been on two dates before this and my dads here' 'dad we can't be here.. On their date!' 😴😴😴 10 Link to comment
lightninggirl August 1 Share August 1 This one was super hard for me. My daughter died two days before Christmas last year, and I'm completely dreading the holidays this year. I cried through the majority of this episode thinking about it, but I'm really glad that I watched it because it helps deal with what's coming for me without shoving it down. I didn't hate Twitney as much this episode mostly because it didn't seem to be focused as much on one of her fabricated navel-gazing dramatics. 🙄 1 7 Link to comment
Gramto6 August 1 Share August 1 I totally forgot to watch this episode.... doesn't sound like I missed much. I'll catch the rerun Sat morning. From the comments so far, looks like I did't miss much. I think at this point they have scraped a hole in the bottom of the barrel! 3 2 Link to comment
Tipsymcstagger August 1 Share August 1 I am the first in line to snark on Whitney. You can check my previous postings to confirm. I’m not a fan and she drives me bananas. Having said that - her convo with Tal in the car brought me to tears. I lost my mom around the same time as Babs passed. And what she said really resonated with me. I share her sentiments almost to a T. There’s a lot I side eye Whitney about - but her love for her mom is not one of them. I understand her loss and I really wish the best for her, Glenn and Hunter. Ok…I’ll find my snark again soon… :) 6 1 Link to comment

I kind of enjoyed the "Christmas in July" episode, but thought that Heather and Ashley could have made cameos considering they are supposed to be her friends. What about her "friend" who did her makeup but wasn't invited to Hunter's party? The "party guests" all sitting in a semicircle facing the camera was hilarious to me. Did Babs make the neighbors do that at her parties? As for Hunter and Karen, I'm guessing they actually HAD met before the movie premiere; that Glen stalking their date WAS for the show, and they actually seem to be in a nice relationship. 3 Link to comment

On their date!' 😴😴😴 The problem, of which Whitney is painfully aware, is that most of her friends (both fake and real) have moved on with their lives and have permanently paired up and in some cases even had children. Their lives are happy but boring and so the only way she can have them on the show anymore is for brief but also boring guest appearances like at fake parties staged for the show. Even Tal acted like he hadn't seen her in forever and I thought he was supposed to be one of her very best friends. I think she really is at a crossroads in her life and not so quick to pick up another fake single friend (or boyfriend) for the show anymore. But that only leaves whoever's left of the old crew and that's getting to be a big yawn now that most of them have clearly entered a different stage of life from her. She desperately wants to join them but doesn't seem to know how to make that happen. She's spent so much time pursuing fake relationships for the show that I don't think she has any clue how to find a real one. The show has been her only way to keep people in her life for a long time. And then every time she finds a new single sidekick they soon end up paired up and not willing or able to just hang with her anymore. The only person left right now for that is Todd, but I think he's being used sparingly and was probably told by her to keep his mouth in check because the internet got the idea based on some of his snarky comments on the show that he was on the outs with her and only tolerating her for the paycheck. I don't know what the truth is or what to make of him supposedly living in her house, but he does seem to be putting on some kind of act now. I think the "new" family was just the diversion she needed to bring new life into the show to make up for her loss of Babs and friends but even that has limited appeal because after a while who cares about them and truthfully these stupid fake plotlines like her meeting Kenny as a "prospect" are pretty lame. And pulling Hunter out of the woodwork and a girlfriend who clearly did not just meet him for the first time was really scraping the barrel. No offense to Hunter and his girlfriend and movie but the stupidity of making some fake storyline about them and making Glenn be so pushy and intrusive just insults the audience's intelligence all the more. And it's not very entertaining either. Edited August 2 by Yeah No 6 Link to comment
SunnyBeBe August 2 Share August 2 (edited) I missed part of this episode, but will catch up. I did like them picking out a Christmas tree! I’ve always loved that, though I switched to fake trees lately. This year a real one! I thought Todd looked really good here. Did he color his hair? I also think Whit’s hair and makeup looks really good so far. i suspect a lot of factors impact who’s on camera, such as availability, contracts, money, etc. I think most people put aside petty matters when it comes to easy money. Even if it is modest. I have no idea how much TLC pays, but based on their long standing cast members on this show, as well as 90 Day franchise, Little People Big World, and a few others, it provides enough to keep them coming back. I’d love to get paid to attend a staged party or dinner. I imagine it is difficult to get through holidays without your person. At least filming gave them an opportunity to honor Babs. 🧸 Edited August 2 by SunnyBeBe 3 Link to comment

And sometimes they get a nice trip - I'd pretend to act like some dude was into Whitney for a few hours for a free Caribbean trip! 😂 1 3 Link to comment

SunnyBeBe August 7 Share August 7 Looking for Episode 5 thread. Anyone watch last night? 2 Link to comment
Pi237 August 7 Share August 7 I watched. I have no life🤣. I was wondering why Glen is living with Whitney when Hunter is living in his Dad’s house? But, then, as soon as Whitney asked Hunter for help, he said he wouldn’t be around as much. So, maybe he’s just no help taking care of his Dad. Or it’s just for filming. Hunter had that whole, huge house to himself this entire time and didn’t do a thing to clear it out or prepare the downstairs? Kind of selfish. Whitney is in the same position of a lot of women who are nearing infertile age. I feel for her. But I also wish women didn’t feel so much pressure (even from themselves) to check off these life events in order to feel whole. Contrary to all the misogynistic noise we’re hearing lately, a woman can be whole and have a totally fulfilling life without children or a spouse. Some of the loneliest people I’ve met were married. And Having kids is wonderful, but it’s not some cure that makes everything in life happy. Not every woman wants to be a caregiver in any shape or form, and That’s Ok! Anyway, it helped her sex toy infomercial lol Those were some sexy photos of Jaime and Heath. Wow. Angie likes to party. She was already getting so wasted in that limo. I trailed off when the screechy bachelorette party started. 5 Link to comment
Pi237 August 7 Share August 7 Extra Fabulous One scene Whitney, Todd & her Dad talking about her Mom and Christmas. She'd have the whole neighborhood over for her Christmas party. And Todd and others would come over and sing Christmas carols. At Whitney's costume Christmas party....Whitney talks to a Karen alone. Whitney says we're glad you're here. She talks about how sweet Hunter has been, waited for her at the airport with Chipotle and diet Coke for her. Hunter returns and asks what they were talking about and she tells him. It's awkward. hunter gives Karen a Christmas present. She takes a year to unwrap it. Whitney says she's going to cry. Its framed coordinates of their first date in Atlanta, I think? Can't really see it. Whitney says she's crying and Jess comes over and gushes over how sweet and creative the gift is. Karen says she's speechless. can't tell if she's thinking yay! Or 'ugh do in have to hang this somewhere now?' 1 2 Link to comment
Mollywolly555 August 7 Share August 7 I think Hunter living in his dad's house is for the show . He crashes there when filming this show is all. I wonder if Dad is having some undisclosed health issues, so Whit can give over him, and is easier for her lazy butt to have him in her house. Selling the house so Whit's cleaning it out??? Lol. Sure. You know she'll hire some company that does that. Dad might find a condo easier to navigate, but clearing out is exhausting. Oh, and I'm am so sick of Whit's numerous Prolonged Mouth Wide Open Look of Disbelief!!!! With Hunter, Jamie, Tal, her step sister, etc... So last couple weeks, Whit is still in love with Frenchman, but this week she wants to date? At least... she is wearing real clothes. At least... she is aware of how old she is in comparison to Jamie and friends. It wd have been nice if Whit has sprung for one nice piece of jewelry for each of the wedding party for the Bachelorette party instead of lame gifts. 3 Link to comment

With Hunter, Jamie, Tal, her step sister, etc... She does this constantly! Sees Hunter on a dating app? Freaks out and falls out of her chair. Roy has the audacity to be dating someone? Freaks out "on air" and demands to know who it is. Hunter tells his girlfriend he loves her? Freaks out and demands to know why he didn't tell her he was going to tell her first. She tramples boundaries constantly but acts horrified if anyone does anything without her explicit agreement. That "bachelorette party" was so cringey. I know it was for the show, but I had so much secondhand embarrassment. I could smell and feel that sticky scene inside the limo. I get Whitney wanting a sedate weekend with the girls, it sounds really nice to me--but her niece is in her 20s and a party animal. Read the room, woman! Angie might want to get some help for her very obvious drinking problem. She was slurring before they even got in the limo. I'm no puritan, I like drinking plenty, but she was very, very drunk. In your 50s, you may wanna reconsider getting that drunk on cheap flavored whiskey, particularly on camera. 4 Link to comment

Yeah No August 8 Author Share August 8 I've created a thread for this week's episode. Anyone can. I did it last week. You just click on "start topic" in the upper right of the main forum for this show. I've been busy and didn't get around to it until now and I'm going on vacation next week so if someone else can do it then that would be great. I'm not a mod. so I can't move the posts about this week's ep. to the new thread, though. Also I haven't gotten around to finishing this episode yet. I'm only about 15 minutes in. I'll have more to say about it in the new thread tomorrow! 1 1 Link to comment

Hunter reminds me a little of "Bud" from "Married with Children", LOL. Hunter is better looking but in my opinion not by much. Is it me? I just don't see him as any great actor and starring in a movie that was probably a very low budget indie that you can find for free online is not exactly as great as they're trying to make it out to be. I saw the "Extra Fabulous" scene with the gift and I didn't get it. I thought I heard Hunter say it was the coordinates of the movie theater. Is that because that's where they supposedly first met? I don't buy that they only first met each other then. And I believe it even less because they didn't make any effort to show the gift to the camera. What BS. It might have been the first time she met Twit and Dad, though. I think Twit just thought making that their story would be oh-so romantic. Eye-roll. 🙄 3 Link to comment

Agree wholeheartedly. Or that show with the prosthetics maker who improves the lives of disfigured with missing eyes, limbs, ears, breasts, etc. This show is way past it's expiration date & I haven't been interested in watching it for the past several seasons. Why not both? 🤣 I loved that Tumor show. Granted, they dragged a bit before the surgery, but it was like magic what those surgeons were able to do. Shameful that it takes so long for people to get medical care & relief from these debilitating growths. it’s fascinating to see the surgery and results. i also want more Quarter Ton Teen. It was more uplifting and much less dragged out that 600lb life. 1 Link to comment

Mollywolly555 August 11 Share August 11 I think Karen resembles Giuliana Rancic who used to be in Entertainment Tonight, and now shills stuff on shopping network? I wonder about this premiere.... they made it into this big big thing, like a real movie premiere in Hollywood or LA. But Hunter had no info.... no agent or pr person or anyone else from studio showed up. Plus they didn't show other people there.. like movie goers....or random crowds.... or seat fillers even. So ....I guess the dress-up show was for for Whit's show. I wd have been embarrassed if I was Hunter because of Karen being there and this buildup of his being oh so nervous. But then Hunter was born to be an actor. But then that giant Thore ego must in their DNA. How has Hunter been supporting himself an the years? Waiting tables? Dadwe? 2 Link to comment
