S2.E7: The Beauty and the Beggar

Ayan launches her beauty collection; Caroline Brooks and Taleen appear to make amends until Taleen hears some disparaging comments; Lesa struggles with work-life balance; Caroline Stanbury hosts a housewarming dinner that takes a turn for the worse.

Bravo synopsis.

Brooks is definitely the friend that can’t stand anything good happening for anyone else. She dismissed Chanel Ayan’s line as someone else’s. Whether or not that is true, she didn’t need to be such a bitch about it. She also boldly announced that Taleen begged her to get her on the show. If Brooks did help her, it doesn’t mean she has to hate the same people that Brooks does. Plus Brooks hates everyone. Walking into Stanburys house with sage was shitty. Caroline should have let Sergio throw her out when he first wanted to. 
Chanel Ayan is also a bitch who cries about her childhood but then has to announce that Caroline Stanbury bought their new home and not Sergio. She then throws out that Michael the friend pays all of Stanburys bills. I’m guessing that she meant when Caroline and Sergio stayed with them. Honestly, I’m sick of listening to her, sick of her bald head and her all around conceited manner. She’s not all that.

Chanel opens the makeup launch with an Egyptian style fashion show, nobody understood that, there was no information about the designer and no mention about the makeup but plenty of Ayan personalized pillows. Do the guests get swag bags full of Ayan Beauty products? Do we think Vogue and Elle Magazines wrote about this makeup show with no makeup, how dreadful lol tm Dwight. Everyone is proud of Chanel but for what?

Why is it a HW will partner with someone and that person is always just a hot mess and they never get the star treatment? I am convinced that the non HW takes the money and finds a cheap wholesale makeup line, get cheap packaging and call it a collab and it is up to the HW to hawk it to stores and on line sales.

After seeing some episodes Ladies of London yesterday Stanbury has truly found a magic surgeon, she looks the same as she did ten years ago, after I win the lottery I am going to find that doctor!

Brooks' TH about how Taleen begged to go to events that were being filmed makes sense, camera time counts!

All of these HW's talk about their husbands moving on at some future time, is the divorce rate in Dubai that high? Do they know they suck as wives or they know the money will run out? It is an odd recurring theme.

Chanel's family time is a bit boring, sorry but it is. I'd rather hear about her lion dress.  Her story about female mutilation is horrific and I get it affects her as an adult, I give her credit for talking about it, it should be yelled from the rooftops, I hope she helps the movement to end that practice.

I think Chanel is using her mutilation story for sympathy to make up for her being an obnoxious bitch. Instead of really enjoying her siblings she just wants to show them that the “little one” (gag) made it and is  more successful than them. I find her crying cracked voice to be fake. Her costumes look stupid in the hot climate of Dubai. At least Brooks is up front about being a hateful bitch.

The highlight for me was when Stanbury was ordering Sergio to sit down, like a petulant chihuahua, during Brooks's and Taleen's husband argument.

If I heard Taleen's husband say "You know you're my girl, right?" one more time...

 A friend of ours, her son lives in Dubai. But she paints a very different  version of it, and it's many rules,.  I did wonder, if the shouting  and loud arguments  weren't going  to bring trouble  to Stanburys  door. Then Sara said,  you could  go to jail, Sergio should  not get involved in Brooks/ Taleens  shouting  match. Brooks  is a very mean individual,  I'm surprised  Sara puts up with her.

Ayan's fashion show , I mean, beauty business was a strange, affair. I'm not interested  in the false lashes she's  selling, I do think  her son is a good looking kid.

When 4 of them were sat on top of that building,  that view was insane, I had to pause my recording.

The views are amazing and the buildings are works of art. I find myself pausing to look at the scenery.

I don’t think Ayan is that pretty. Sorry. And her constant bragging is obnoxious. But I loved her Egyptian fashions! Gorgeous. I thought-how are they not melting in those clothes!? Then you see them saying, “it’s so cold out!” Graphic pops up: 77 degrees lol I guess you really do acclimate to those higher temperatures, but I don’t think I ever could. I was surprised to see some chubbier women (in the background, makeup and helpers) I wondered how they stand that heat!! 
 

If Taleen begged Brooks to help her get on the show, and she did and then, Taleen crawled up Stansbury’s butt, I get why she’d be salty. However, that’s not the only time we’ve seen Brooks be a bitch. She’s always sour. She’s like that friend that you have to always be pumping up and taking her side or else she burns you. She doesn’t seem capable of fun. I don’t get why Sara is always backing her. 
 

That roof top pool!!! Wow. I got vertigo through my television. That view was Stunning!!  
 

I liked Stansbury’s house, but I’ll never be the one to own a ridiculously expensive white couch that you’re afraid to sit on. Just buy art for the walls and a comfortable couch. Stupid. I want to know about this man paying for their lifestyle though. That’s so weird.

I think he might be a phony, a frenemy of Stanbury, telling people bad stuff about her because she over stayed her welcome at his house, left it a mess, took advantage of him, never paid for anything, he is feeling a bit salty about that and now he is getting revenge.

Sergio should have been allowed to kick Brooks and Mr. Taleen out of his house but we all know it is Stanbury who owns the house therefore her rules, Sergio was told to sit down in front of everyone who was still at the table, it must have been embarrassing for him.

She was giving us her Mahogany moment, when Diana Ross's character came out in her kimono creation at that fashion show, arms wide open, head high, and showed everyone how fabulous she was, Ayan was being Mahogany. 

If Jenn Ayden was at that launch party she would be wondering if Ayan designed those clothes and what about the makeup, she would be rightfully confused as was everyone there and as us at home. 

Who was it that gave those pillows to Stanbury? Like she would put those pillows anywhere but a closet, they were so basic (like Ayan's pillows at her event), at least spend a little more and them embroidered or something.

Walking in to someone's house with a burning sage stick is asking for trouble, who does that? Also, who brings a plus one without asking?

I'm in NJ, it's currently 97 degrees with 99% humidity.  Trust me, there are a lot of chubbies (including me) out here dealing with the heat!

She totally emasculated him. He wants to be the man of the house, but she doesn't respect him. Someone even said something like Sergio is like having a baby already. 

I'm a big gal myself, that's why I was wondering how they're handling that heat. I'd be a big puddle on the ground over there. I figured the skinny ones don't feel it as much, but they show up in the desert wearing long sleeves and pants and I sweat vicariously. Believe me, air conditioning is my best friend!

The one time Sergio tried to assert himself when Caroline  was speaking to Michael he came off very childish. She does emasculate him. He really should leave her. There’s nothing good about their marriage. She even says he can leave. She’s too old and cold for a baby.  The new house looks like a museum and not a place one could get comfortable. Her daughter doesn’t like him. I don’t know if he cares for her but I don’t see how he can. She’s mean and shitty to him.

Hopefully that shit wears off. She treats him like crap. Even nasty ass obnoxious Chanel Ayan mentioned it at the table that Caroline bought the house. He’s like a joke to the other housewives. If he worked and made money like the other husbands,  he may have been respected a bit.

Ugh Caroline Brooks is the worst. She's up there with Tamra and Rinna as my most disliked housewives. Taleen is allowed to make her own friendships with the other women, even if Brooks brought her in. She was super gleeful about calling her a beggar, saying that Ayan's business partner did everything, that Michael paid for everything. She has real cruel streak. 

Also, who brings a plus one without telling the host? Who bring sage into a brand new home? And then when Rafi pulls Taleen away, she comes up and says "stop drinking, you're slurring." I'm not even mad at Taleen for saying "where's your husband?" Brooks started with the low blows.

Between Caroline S's extreme hands off parentings and the suffocating parenting of Chanal/Lesa.. certainly there is a happy medium for parenting.

I would prefer a parent like Caroline S... because a clingy parent is a no no in my book.  It shows that you have nothing going on in your life except your kids.. which isn't healthy.

Hearing that the pandomic was when Sergio/Caroline S got together makes so much sense.

Really? I mean, she told her what Stanbury said, Teleen wasn't bothered by it... For Teleen, it was never a choice of Brooks OR Stanbury, but Brooks made it that way.

Sounds like Brooks was trying the tired and true HW method of bringing on a friend to fight her battles for her against an enemy, or at least just be someone else to gang up on her enemy, except Taleen was all "Nah, I'm good co-existing with her".

I think she expected Taleen to be mad at Stansbury or commiserate with her like close friends tend to do,  but instead, Taleen accused Brooks of stirring the pot and causing problems, and told all of this to Stansbury while cozing up to her. Its childish, but I understand why that would bother Brooks.

Taleen wanted to be on the show, so she asked Caroline Brooks to invite her to as many HW events possible in order to be seen by the producers. Brooks expected her to be a friend and an ally, but Taleen decided to flatter, and be friendly with Caroline Stanbury who has more connections (like cast members mentioned before) in Dubai than Brooks. But Brooks is not exactly nice (on the show: bringing sage to Stanbury's new house, and coming with an uninvited plus one who was her nail person, calling her "friend" Taleen a beggar, saying that Ayan's makeup line was created by her business partner, and that Michael pays for Stanbury's expenses, something she was a little ambiguous about on Watch What Happens Live when asked), so not too many people are going to support her.

Nobody respects Sergio, including his wife. 

Having a white B & B sofa tells me that Stanbury doesn't want anybody near her living room (or whatever is called these days). 

Rafi shouldn't be talking to Brooks like this in public though, even if she attacked his wife.

The only thing that saved the day, regarding the plated dinner, was that Lesa's husband didn't show up.  Brooks' friend took his seat.  Brooks was wrong to bring an uninvited guest to that type of dinner party.  Then, she had the audacity to try to change the seating arrangements to sit by her "friend"/manicurist.  She is definitely embracing the villain role this season.  

And on WWHL, Brooks looked extremely different.  I couldn't put my finger on it, but maybe she has had work done?  She looked very beautiful, though.
