Has everyone had a good weekend? Everyone around here is sick! Houseguest was so sick last week, she's still recovering. She went to the doctor but she was ten minutes late and they refused to see her, even though she was clearly VERY sick. Coughing, feverish, weak. They callously told her to go to urgent care, which she did, and spent four hours there. Poor thing. They couldn't really pinpoint what it was--not covid, not flu, not pneumonia. So they gave her steroids and antibiotics and she is slowly mending. BUT it must be the week of shitty medical care at Casa Mostly, my husband came home from working in Maine for a week, feeling kinda flu-y but not terrible. But today he had fever and chills and felt wobbly. Goes to the doctor. NP sends him home to take a covid test! Told him that if it came back negative he could go back. Can you imagine?? Poor guy, took the test, came back negative, goes BACK to the doctor's office, they deign to see him but tell him nothing. No diagnosis, no prescription, no suggestions. He's sound asleep in front to the TV right now. I fervently hope I don't get sick because I will brook none of this nonsense. 

Phew. OK, let's boogie!

Thank you! Houseguest is doing much better now but still coughing and tired. Hubby is wiped out, very low energy and feeling feverish. I prescribe a cup of hot tea with honey and an early night. He's trying to watch football but can't stay awake, poor guy.

I’m stuck on the idea that Shekina loves dressing up and doing photo shoots. She is in her 40s and this is a weird hobby.
How much do these shoots cost ? What does she do with the pictures ?

My 4 year old granddaughter loves to dress up and has tutus and costumes. Sometimes she’s Elsa and sometimes she’s Spider-Man. It’s cute when she does it but I find it bizarre that Shekina does it.

My take on Dempsey and Statler is that Statler is a prick but Dempsey is trying to shoe horn Statler into her life. This type of spontaneous traveling lifestyle suits Dempsey but not Statler. Statler never should have agreed to this. She should have let Dempsey go and Dempsey should have just moved on.

If Dempsey were to travel alone, she could connect with all sorts of fellow travelers on social media or at hostels. She could couch surf at a host family’s house here and there if she wants a break from the camper van. She could make the most of it. Statler is just not a good traveling companion because everything will freak her out or unsettle her. This is exhausting.
