We are supposed to be this is the love of the century??? She's a high-maintenance, demanding, unpredictable, not-very-appealing person, and he's a bland nice guy.

I take it Alice was abused when she was very young. I made it through it, but I don't  see DH watching  this again. I'll  wait until next week to decide.

I made it through 15, mostly because I found Alice totally annoying and I said, “why bother?”

Made through the first episode and thought "why?".  Wuthering Heights this ain't. 

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the male lead is not really all that attractive and he has the personality of a luke warm bowl of oatmeal.  And so far, Alice comes across as borderline  bat-shit crazy and not a very nice person.     If Jack were my friend, I'd tell him to run for the hills.   There is nothing we have been shown that makes either of these characters remotely interesting as people.  

And for the shallow aside - whoever decided that Alice should sport the Carolyn Bessette look of severe pulled back hair, no eye makeup, and bold lipstick, is doing the actress no favors.   At least pencil in her eyebrows!

I think Jack is cute in a average sort of way, but he is so wishy-washy.  I'd rather be watching a show about the friend and the stone-cold fox he pulled.

If I’d ever gone on a date with someone and been as obnoxiously questioned as she was interrogating Jack, I’d have headed to the ladies’ room and never come back.

At first I wondered if she was terminally ill and didn’t want to get attached to anyone. But after the way she was screaming when Jack went out for coffee and croissants, I’m thinking BPD.

I actually do think Domnhall Gleeson is attractive. But Alice, yikes… I don’t get his fascination with her at all! She’s definitely not a woman I look at and think “dang, I wish I looked like her”. And on her, that red lipstick was hideous.

Watched all of first episode and have to agree with all, this is "the biggest turd in the punchbowl"  I've seen PBS put out. What kind of imbecile would put up with that POS????? Talk about a shit magnet...
