S08.01: Declaration of Codependence

Two new guys: West who is shorter and from the South, and Jesse who is 6' 5" and from Chicago. West has swag according to the cast, Jesse seems stupid to me. He is tall, and in good shape, but has a large mouth, and big teeth. It seems he will be hitting on Paige without caring if she is single, or not.

Amanda and Kyle are in trouble as a couple. She doesn't really want to be around him, and she is happy it's summer, and can be with her girlfriends. He doesn't really want to have kids, or get a house because the relationship is not great.

The show can't seem to keep any guys. Aside from Kyle & Carl, there's someone new every season.

I like West and enjoying watching him with Ciara. The tall guy looked like a Carl clone and quickly acted like a S1 version of him. Paige is not going to entertain that and Craig will not appreciate hearing about it. There are three single gals, flirt with one of them.

I wonder why Sam didn't return, I'd prefer her to Gabby.

Not sure what to make of Kyle/Amanda. I think she needs to step away from Loverboy and return the corporate world. A lot of the resentment in their relationship appears to come from their differing work styles. At Loverboy, she's the creative director so the experience is good for her career trajectory (she was a creative designer for L'Occitane when the show started).

From the brief glimpses of Carl, he already looked exhausted.

Carl returned to Loverboy recently, to work part time.

I wonder if Jesse Solomon went to New Trier High School.  What kind of asshole comes onto a show and hits on a girl in a relationship. His smile creeps me out.

But I’m loving West. Initially when I saw him and his mustache (not a fan of ‘em), I thought to myself “ick”. Yes, I am shallow.  But he fits so naturally into the group, and I love his very chill and easygoing personality. So he instantly became more attractive and I agree with the girls’ comparison of him and Jesse. 

I wonder if Kyle is a little annoyed that Amanda isn’t as dependent on him like prior years. Good for her, but if at this point there are STILL concerns about kids and buying a house together, divorce already!  It’s not going to just magically get better. Kyle is fun sure, but he’s a child. And having kids WITH a child is not fun as I sadly learned from experience. Amanda, get out now, girl. If not for the snow, would she stay with him?  That she almost immediately brings up his cheating to the girls tells me no, she resents him, which often leads to the end of a marriage.

Oh and Kyle should not be venting to Paige about issues he has with Amanda either, it’s very juvenile and puts Paige in the middle. Go talk to a therapist or couples counselor because now you think you actually might want a clingy wife.

Their pre-marriage woes should have been red flags to call it off.  To me, if they were really serious and ready to settle down they wouldn't still be doing this show.  Both of them still wants to live like free college kids on spring break.  Amanda has already checked out on Kyle.  I don't give them very much longer to be together.  If they do break up I hope it's before any kids are had.

I didn’t think it would be so obvious but Carl already looks so done and Lindsey has her crazy smile happening trying to cover up her rage probably. I was rooting for them because I thought it was a cute story and I don’t know these ppl but it’s good thing it was called off. I’m sure Lindsey would’ve went thru with it and made Carl miserable until she at least popped put a kid. I can’t imagine living with someone like that. I actually can maybe a bit because I knew someone like Lindsey and it’s hell. Carl probably feels like a weight has been lifted off him.

I thought West was gay at first but he seems good so far.

Jesse idk. He has major dbag potential that’s for sure.

Kyle and Amanda are no surprise. They prob never should’ve gotten married. At the very least they need to not work together. Just together 24-7 does not seem to work for them. Amanda seems lazy too can’t imagine how she is working especially working for her husbands company. Prob why she works with him.

Bleh to Danielle. She ruined Wintet House for me so I can do without her.

Ok that's what I totally thought as well!  Meh he seems like a good egg so far.  The porn stache does creep me out a bit.  I hope I'm not wrong in my gut reaction to him.  I've been fooled on this show by so called nice guys.

Yeah Jesse is giving off d-bag vibes so well see with him.

OMG not Danielle thinking she got her mojo back on W.H. GURL, stop already.  I really do like her and she needs to find a good dude to settle down with and Joe from S.H. is NOT it!  He was just using her to get on W.H. 😒

I had no idea there was an 8 year age difference between the two. 

This tension in their relationship seems so forced and inauthentic to me.  It's like they have a conversation pre-summer like "What's going to be our storyline this summer?", just so they can count on the Bravo check and the marketing for Loverboy.
