I don't think it's shaming to say "I value sex in committed relationships and am uncomfortable with the idea of being involved with someone who doesn't share that value." That statement is about me, not about the other person. I think that it's shaming when you say "I value sex in a committed relationship only and I think there is something wrong with/morally repugnant/cheap/sleazy about people who don't share that value." I don't think it's appropriate to judge other people for their sexual behaviors. Someone who has sex outside a committed relationship isn't less of a good person or less of a moral person that someone who only has sex in committed relationships. They aren't necessarily less honest or less committed to a partner when they have one. They are just someone who things it's ok to have sex outside a committed relationship. I think Brennan could raise his discomfort with Emily's past sexual history without slut shaming but I haven't seen so far that he has the introspection or the lack of judgmentalism that this would require. Bottom line is that I do think he is making judgments about her character based on this aspect of her history. He does think she is a slut and therefore not good enough for him. I'd kick him to the curb for that alone. I still believe Brennan is more concerned about her drinking habits. And it explains why he doesn’t want to reveal his reasons on TV. 4 Link to comment

I wonder if it has to do with everybody in the past cutting contact entirely, so she never even has the opportunity to find out what they didn't like about her. I think it's because he liked her at first and then changed On 12/30/2023 at 1:00 PM, Elizzikra said: I think Brennan could raise his discomfort with Emily's past sexual history without slut shaming but I haven't seen so far that he has the introspection or the lack of judgmentalism that this would require. He said that she said she "loves one night stands" and I think that's his issue - and another issue/personal value, like religion, that should have been covered in the screening process. And he knows he'd be accused of "slut shaming" somewhere, and doesn't want to deal with that. 2 Link to comment
Jeanne222 January 1 Share January 1 Brennan has made this the big question for this season! What's wrong with Emily? Maybe what's wrong with Brennan is really the issue! 2 Link to comment

She may say that, but no one wants to be intimate then rejected repeatedly. Don't come at me with "sex positivity". Not buying it. He is turned off by her drinking, willingness to be sexual too quickly and those are both legitimate concerns. He's in way over his head and underestimated how hard this would be. What possesses a person to participate in these masochistic public experiments? Edited January 1 by sauce62 6 Link to comment
