Jon Gosselin Accuses Ex Kate Gosselin of 'Parent Alienation,' Reveals When They Last Spoke

https://toofab.com/2024/07/19/jon-gosselin-accuses-kate-gosselin-parent-alienation-reveals-when-they-last-spoke/

In the article, he says he's going to propose to his girlfriend before Thanksgiving.  (I guess she's expecting the proposal since he said it publicly.)

Here's his girlfriend.  She looks much younger than him.  (Jon is 47.)

According to an article I saw in April, she’s 37.

Hey Jon, its not parental alienation if you agree to limited parenting time in exchange for no child support.   It's called abandonment.   Be grateful even 2 kids want to speak to you.

Jon and Hannah are both taking Ozempic

Good god.   Hannah has lost 25 pounds, and is now sporting a bikini, so she was only a little chubby to begin with.  But let's not "fat shame" people by suggesting they could lose that amount of weight with healthy eating and exercise instead of medication with unknown long term effects.

Wow, there's a big thank you Mom for trying to ruin my life.  It does seem that involuntary and not court ordered placement shouldn't be enough to disqualify him in a reasonable world.  Kate just wanted him out of her life and because of her spiteful personality wouldn't simply let him go with Jon which would have been a reasonable solution.

There are many cases where a parent will target one child for abuse and treat the other children normally.  I see it in the news now and then, where one child is caged or beaten or starved, and the other children in the home are perfectly healthy and well taken care of.  For some reason, Collin was Kate's target.  If he misbehaved more than his siblings, it's only because he sensed that he was treated differently and his resentment built up.  Collin did really well in the years he lived with Jon, and Jon's former girlfriend had the highest praise for him.

I'm so sorry his dreams of the Marines were ruined.  Hopefully, he can get the decision overturned on appeal.

It's called scapegoating and it's real. My friend was singled out for years of horrific abuse while her five siblings were left alone. Her theory is that she reminded her father of her mother, who was his first victim.

I'm confused about Colin's situation. I thought he entered basic training. The military asks about mental health issues during the recruiting/application process - so the Marines must have known about his condition but sent him to basic and tried him anyway.

No way would Colin make it - he hasn't had enough recovery from his trauma. I have several young cousins who went through Marine basic a couple of years ago (still a common path for rural southerners), and only one stayed in. Recruiters are extremely persuasive, getting to know the mamas and posting on Facebook, and there's a lot of fanfare and praise when a kid joins up. Then basic training reality sets in.

Colin has a tough job in front of him: deal with the realities of his mental illness while continuing therapy to recover from the trauma. Reality TV and social media are not his friends.

I’m wondering about this also.

I think he's lashing out at his mother because he's disappointed and maybe embarrassed, with his father's eager encouragement.

At some point he will have to stop blaming Kate and deal with his challenges. A lot of trauma victims get therapy and get stuck on Blame.

The question as to whether Colin actually has/had a mental illness is still open.  Kate used it as an excuse to lock him away.  She's an unreliable narrator as is Jon who says Colin did not have a mental illness.

It's especially horrible if Colin did not have a mental illness before being institutionalized, but emerged with one as a result of that decision. He endured a lot while there, including abandonment by his family.

I wouldn't refer to justifiable anger and righteous indignation as "lashing out," which makes it sound like a symptom of something.  I'm of the opinion that he probably didn't have a problem except for his mother hating him because he most reminded her of Jon or maybe some male in her own family.  It was obvious almost from the beginning that he would be the family scapegoat.

And he DID "make it through basic training."  He was just about to graduate when it blew up in his face.  Some blame Madie (Kate Jr.) blasting him on SM.

As for Ozempic, I'm surprised Hannah qualified for the prescription, but she's 20 and an adult.  At least they're being honest about their sudden weight loss, unlike so many other disingenuous users, both celebrities and regular folks.

My friend told me her cardiologist referred her to a practice/business that "knows how to help a patient qualify" for these new weight-loss drugs (perhaps not Ozempic but a similar drug). They are probably printing money.

There's a video at the top of the page.  Hopefully, the Marines will reverse their decision and take him back.

Speaking in depth about his childhood, brave Collin, 20, said he was always treated differently from his seven other siblings by Kate, and despite being part of one of the most popular reality TV shows of its time, he grew up isolated and alone.

Sometimes, he alleges he would have his hands and feet zip-tied and be locked in a specially-built basement room that contained only a bed and cameras to watch him for a whole day or part of a day "multiple" times.

I remember they showed that basement room in one episode, but not how Kate used it.  Theoretically it was to give the boys more room.

Kate was and probably still is despicable.

And I don’t believe she intentionally harmed any of her children in any way, shape or form," he claimed.

Well, Mr. Lawyer, the thing is, no one knows what goes on in a home except the people who live there.  We've seen too many stories of people who were the pillar of society and beloved by their neighbors and church, who did horrible things behind closed doors.

I remember Jon coming home from work one day to find Joel lying on the hard, cold floor of the laundry room with just a bucket and a thin blanket under him because he'd thrown up, and Kate wanted easy clean-up if it happened again.  He took him to bed (and probably incurred the wrath of Kate in the process).

Collin Gosselin Shares 'Only Way' He'll Reconcile with Mom Kate After Alleged Abuse

https://toofab.com/2024/10/09/collin-gosselin-only-way-kate-gosselin-reconcilation-abuse/

Quote

"And I think the only way that my mother and I would be able to reconnect and fix our relationship in the future is, if she would just come forward with the truth and all the things that she has kept under wraps," he continued.

"And you know the many times that she's tried to soil my name and my father's name. I just would want her to come forward with the truth," Collin added, before concluding, "[But] Yes, that door would be open. 100 percent."

Quote

"My mother many, many times -- and most of the time -- became physically aggressive, verbally very abusive with the things she would say," Collin told The U.S. Sun, "and obviously that carries over to the emotional side of things where a young child doesn't know any better."

However, the most shocking allegation of the interview came right at the top, with Collin claiming "multiple times she had zip-tied my hands and feet together." He further claimed she built a room in the family's basement and would lock him in there, zip-tied in this manner.

"She would bolt-lock the door, turn the lights off and that camera's there, just watching me," he told The Sun. "In that room that my mother had built, oftentimes she had zip-tied my hands and feet together, and kept me locked in there for most or all of the day for multiple days."

He said that he felt helpless and isolated during this time in his life, emphasizing, "I had nobody in my life then. I didn't have my siblings, I didn't have teachers at school, I didn't have friends. I wasn't allowed to visit my father. I had nobody to go to, not one person to talk to. I had no relationship with anybody."

About Kate's appearance on Special forces:

Quote

"I actually did watch Special Forces. I think it's a very neat show," Collin said. "And what was upsetting is having to watch her [Kate] kind of struggle through it, and it seems like she had a very difficult time on Special Forces."

"You know, even so, with everything going on right now, I still did deeply feel sorry for her, and how she had to struggle through those challenges on that show," he continued.

"Despite my mother, and you know her, her constant effort to protect her reputation at the cost of mine, and the things that she has said about me and the things that she has done to me, I still feel in my heart. I feel sorry for her," Collin admitted.

"I feel you know, that the things that she has done have been very tough, and they have affected me," he went on. "However, you know my drive and my want to move forward and to achieve my dreams is greater than that."

Collin shared that he'd be interested in appearing in a show like Special Forces, particularly to prove to Kate what he's "capable of."

The best thing for him and this entire family would be to step back from the spotlight.   No more tv shows, no interviews, just live their lives like everyone else.

I wonder if Jon is manipulating Collin to keep blabbing to the media and try to maneuver for reality TV money. I can see Jon declaring himself Collin's "manager" to angle for that 10%.

merylinkid says it best: they all need to go away and live private lives. (But they won't.)
