I finally figured out what annoyed me so much about Shekinah's sister, and I think it's her incessant vocal fry.  That has to be an LA thing.

Yes, it bugged the crap out of me too. Also the way she looks like the lights are on but nobody’s home. But that she might not be able to help. 😀

Mama Brandon had Mary sized up perfectly.  Her assessment was spot on.

Mama Brandon has seen some shit, BUT given biological and social realities, although Mary and Brandon are equally responsible for the conception, Mary is going to be the one with the physical/financial responsibility of raising the child if Brandon decides this entire situation is something he doesnt want to be in any more, and as silly as Mary is, she knows that.

What I dont understand about these "kids" (I know they are in their early 20s), is that they WANTED THIS, he wanted to move there, he wanted to be with her long term, he wanted to live there, they wanted to conceive this child, why are they so pissy NOW? Did they think the grandparents would just support them financially forever?

Some people on reaction channels I follow were offended by how Armando and Kenny spoke about the potential egg donors, I did not find it offensive, insulting, disrespectful etc to the women at all. When one picks a gamete donor, education, interests etc is looked at, but yes, people are choosing donors based on PHYSICAL characteristics, things you know are inherited and not influenced by nurturing. Paying money for a gamete donor to conceive a child is very different than choosing a partner to raise that child, and just taking the good/bad/okay genetic characteristics because you are wanting a biological child with your actual partner.

I have friends that have done sperm donation and they spoke the same way so maybe thats why I wasnt surprised.

My opinion, neither one got what they thought they were going to get. She thought she got herself a rich American and he thought that she was going to act in a civilized manner once he was there with her.  He has no money and her behavior did not change one wit. So that is why they are so pissy.

THANK YOU, I hadn't thought of it that way. Brandon had no money before he got to the Philippines, he was a low skill worker in his early 20s without an education. He isn't even legally allowed to work there yet, what did she THINK he had? Mary was controlling and posessive when he was 8000miles away, did he think she would get BETTER with him in the same bed?

Buyer's remorse on both sides?

It wouldn't surprise me  if he comes back to the US under the pretense of earning money since he can't earn there and then he never goes back. I'm not sure what the laws are out there with a case like this.

I actually thought they were funny. Totally agree with you on them actually looking at the women. I don't think they were putting them down.

Remember, he sent her money to build that house. And from her perspective, that was a lot of money. She saw that as being rich.

And then once he got there, she was just as controlling as she was before he got there not to mention that she was hit in the face with reality.

Look at the mug she had on when she met his mother. Not only has his mother figured her out, who would warm up to that face and that attitude. I understand that the mother was already prejudiced but if she had arrived and found a warm and smiling individual, perhaps her opinion would have changed.

Yup yup. The look on Mary’s face was “mean muggin’ “. She looked so pissed off when Momma Brandon showed up and wasn’t welcoming at all!

There are treaties now and international child support orders between America and the Philippines can be enforced. However as a base the Philippines is now pushing towards the higher of at least 10% of the non custodian's income or 6000 php ($105)per month  for a single child born to legal spouse's  and the Philippines still uses illegitimate as the legal term and stamps birth certificates with the  red badge of shame for the children of unmarried parents

How much better it could go if she was warm and welcoming to her. At least that way she tried and if Momma Brandon treated her poorly, she could just blame her. But with that sour face?

She is so overly polite to her grandparents (while still doing the opposite of what they ask) yet called his mother a bitch on television.

Exactly. I know Brandan's mother is not necessarily a saint but I'm really surprised Mary, being raised in a culture where you respect your "elders", behaved the way she did. I mean I'm not surprised, it is Mary but I would expect her to know better.

Kimberly and TJ's traditional Indian wedding continues.

If they didn't insist that the religious leaders demanded the midnight to 4:00 AM conclusion  I would have been sure the producers asked for the time to increase drama on the season's ordinary couple.

It was more the sour face and not greeting auntie, soon to be some version of mommy properly than the interview with the camera that had me shaking my head.  When Brandan suggest hugging  even if mom didn't step forward that is the signal Mary had been taught before she could walk to bless the elder with a "mano po". After multiple flights and a bus ride through the province they finally wait until mom gets into tricycle range to pick her up, do better kids.

Mary has a face like a fist. Even when she tries (rarely) to arrange her features in a more pleasant attitude, she still looks pissed off and truculent. She's so sour. And when Brandan's mother met her, she grimaced and immediately adopted a defensive stance, with her arms crossed. And Brandan did it too. There is no winning over this little bundle of sulks.

I hated most of these people today, except for TJ for being joyous about his wedding. I can go back to hating him again when he's introducing Kimberly to her new kitchen wench life.

I actually thought Kenny and Armando were cute, joking about their shared taste in women. I mean, this is how we evolved to choose genetic partners.

Yeah, I didnt see it as disrespectful. They are PAYING for genetic characteristics, not looking for a caregiver or co-parent or romantic partner (where genetic characteristics matter, but things like personality and compatibility are a huge part as well).

I think that because women are so often judged on our looks in arenas where its completely irrelevant to the situation (as in our looks determine our humanity, intelligence or value etc) people are hyper sensitive. I think if Kenny and Armando had been a lesbian couple choosing a sperm donor very few people would've found the conversation off putting.

Yeah they probably would have wanted a tall donor with thriving hair lol.

I am so frustrated with 90-day fiance, Welcome to Plathville, Sister Wives, and any other TLC reality shows. My main source of frustration is I've set my PVR for recording only "new" episodes, but now I'm getting all these episodes with the title "More to Love"... They aren't even close to being new, and they're taking up space, thus deleting or conflicting with other, more important, shows I record.
