This ended on a strange time pressure basis. The client was on bail, the Deputy DA retracted her offer and now the firm has to go into another all nighter'.  Are we going into Law & Order speedy trial territory after the first season did make it seem as if there was time before the judge and client  forced Haller?

Thought that whole scenario with the teenage girl ending up with royalties for defacing a building was a bit unbelievable.  Like the lawbreakers in Los Angeles need another way to get away with their illegal actions????

I don't like Lisa. And she's shady AF, unless that's deliberate misdirection. But I hope she's guilty.

I was suspicious of her right away, but it's the "oh, it's just another small omission/lie, it's not a problem" thing that really bugs me. The man is trying to help her, and she's making it worse for him.

Where is CSI? He was killed by a single blow? Instead of all the My Cousin Vinny stunts, focus on the implausibility of her being able to generate sufficient downward force from a 1 foot height disadvantage.

There's no question, Lisa is being shady. But she's also being railroaded.

I love Lorna.  That coffee shop trick with having the woman read the menu to her was a great touch.  And she needs glasses....*LOL*

"Andy" just anoys the crap out of me.  She's so damn arrogant, I really hope whatever she has to induce her to pull the deal gets stampeded by Mickey.  She needs to be taken WAY down a peg.

I did not like that subplot at all.  Like, the shop owner was being a little harsh with the vandal but for the ending to be like "oh, she's a business wunderkind and deserves rewards and not punishment" was irritating to me.

All I can say is that I look forward to Harry Bosch showing up to kick some sense into his dick-led, gullible half-brother imminently.

And if it's not in season 2, it better be in season 3.

Because by this episode, a combination of transparent plotting and the actress playing the restaurant dame practically winking at the camera that she's up to no good makes this Connelly Lite.

Yes, the lead is charming; yes, there are lots of LA food trucks whetting my appetite for my next trip south of Conejo Pass. But I'm fervently hoping for some plot twists. Restaurant Dame is ex-wife of developer? Or developer funder? Or maybe someone shoots her a la the end of season 1?

Bring it. With Bosch.

The problem is two different studios own the rights to each character.  It's why we won't see Bosch here and we won't see Mickey on Bosch unless there's some extraordinary deal made.  (It's why I hoped Amazon would pick up the series after CBS decided not to go with it.  They could have facilitated something. )

Yes, unfortunate that the rights are tied to different producers. Mostly I just find Haller charming but gullible and without the grit I look for in Connelly characters especially in this episode.

I hope it corrects in future, though tv writers had a tough job mimicking and updating Connelly.

After season 1, and the tattooed killer, Mickey seems to have a reputation of being duped by his clients.  ..but it would be difficult to root for him if he, and we, knew his client was actually guilty.

It is frustrating that TPTB purposely skip over a lot of details, such as forensic evidence, the client's account of events, etc.
