lasu February 23, 2023 Share February 23, 2023 I had a deep and inexplicable love for the original. I never understood why I liked it so much when I never thought it was THAT great of a show, lol. I'll probably at least check this out, but I'm already a bit verklempt thinking about Brittany Murphy and Tom Petty. 1 Link to comment
30 Helens February 26, 2023 Share February 26, 2023 I absolutely loved this show, and I’m excited to see it’s coming back. But as much as I will miss the character, I hope they don’t try to recast Luann. Brittany Murphy was irreplaceable in that role. Better to just say Luann and Lucky moved away and refer to their offscreen lives on occasion. If they think a Luann-like character is needed, they can create a new one. I’m also wondering what will happen with Kahn, since they’ve determined that having a white actor (Toby Huss) voice the character is no longer acceptable. In this case, I’d be fine with a recast because Kahn is just too good of a foil for Hank. Link to comment
readster June 19, 2023 Share June 19, 2023 Considering how the show is taking place in the now and several of the cast members now passed on or changes. Some characters I don't see changing like Dale or Boomhauer. Hell, since the revelation of Bommhauer being a Texas Ranger that is a goldmine for stories. Propane business would still be thriving in Arlen, but Peggy? That's an issue, if they had it where she went back to teaching and became a principal. That would be perfect and hell, Megalo Mart is more relevant today than it was 20 years ago. Link to comment
bilgistic June 19, 2023 Share June 19, 2023 I'm super excited for this show to come back. The new Beavis and Butt-Head series has been comedic gold, so I have high hopes that Mike Judge is going to bring the heat to KOTH. Link to comment

Although considering the demise of K-Mart and similar economic issues in recent years, I can see how even more changes could be around for the town. Link to comment

I do swear, if they bring back a local barber shop and he is still on the verge of burning his business to the ground. I am going to cry foul on Mike Judge. There are just things that need to stay in the pass. If anything, Dale's Dead Bugs is more relevant today with private businesses. I could even see Nancy or Joesph helping with online orders with smartphones. The thing is with Peggy, honestly, it make a ton of sense if she was now a vice or principal at a school. She could still be doing it half ass and still be good and stable. Same with the propane business, it's more needed in Texas of all places than 20 years ago. 1 Link to comment

Galileo908 August 11, 2023 Share August 11, 2023 This is heartbreaking. Don't think you can go on with a reboot without him. Link to comment
Lois Sandborne August 15, 2023 Share August 15, 2023 I've read that Johnny had not finished his recording for the reboot before he passed. I'm sure the team is grieving now, so it will be a while before we hear any official decisions. But I really hope they don't try to substitute a voice for whatever is left to record. I know there's a lot of time and money already invested, and there are a lot of people depending on the new show coming out. But I'd still rather they scrap the whole thing. Or I'd settle for them giving Dale a hasty (but respectful) (or at least funny) departure. 1 Link to comment
