Jason Momoa looks like he’s having the time of his life.

MVP was Momoa in a walk. It is not hyperbole to say that this is the most I've enjoyed a Jason Momoa performance. I wonder who's choice it was to play Dante so....flamboyant, his or the director?

As to the rest, they leaned into all the cliches that have earned the franchise multiple billions of dollars:  Cartoon physics, overwrought speeches, the word "family" uttered every other line.

Post-credit stinger: Say what you will about the big guy's massive ego, (either one)he never let's it get in the way of business.

Loved every ridiculous minute up until the ending. I would have hated the ending less had I known it was a trilogy but also this was supposed to be the!last!one! But I left the theater wanting to throat-punch Cypher. Yea, your ending sucked.

I go into these movies knowing they are dumb and the characters are basically super humans with cars as their super powers. But they are fun and action packed. Jason Moama was having the time of his life. And it was funny seeing that the 2 Aquaman were working together. Alan Ritchson played Aquaman on Smallville.

Was Michelle Rodriguez filming D&D during this, she was barely in it. Her fighting Cypher at that moment was stupid. I guess they needed to check Letty beats up another woman off the check list.

Besides the first one, these characters never stay dead. Well I guess it's not done yet, so maybe they are all alive too.

The Rock must really love money to come back to this. Lol

I watched it 4D. Loved the movie. It was a lot of fun, not sure if I'd do 4D again. On one hand, I have a hard time sitting still, so it was kind of nice that I didn't have to. On the other hand, I felt like I needed a seatbelt and that I had to quickly eat my food before it could spill.

I am looking forward to the next Fast movie!

I’m going to assume Jakob isn’t dead, since it’s becoming clear that Dom’s family barbecues are laced with an immortality potion. Should’ve seen the latest resurrection coming when they spent time talking about Han’s love life.

There was some painful dialogue in that scene where we’re introduced to Alan Ritchson and Brie Larson. And Ritchson’s double agent reveal was pretty cheesy with the looking directly to the audience.

i could see why they’re considering making this a trilogy. If they go that route I think the next one may be a defacto Hobbes and Shaw sequel with the Family taking a back seat. Not convinced Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson will share scenes, or if they ever do it’ll be with green screens and body doubles a la The Good Wife.

If it wasn't for Giselle showing up at the end I might have actually believed Han and gang died in the plane crash. Of course there's no way they're dead now.

The Fast movies have become crazy over the top fun but, I find it amazing how deep the character pool and interaction goes. That being said,  I kept wondering where Mia/Brian's kids were, no mention at all. Maybe I missed something in Fast 9, since I never watched it.

Brie Larson really is just a walking block of wood, no real acting chops, which isn't a big deal considering the rest of the cast but, she also lacks charisma and doesn't really have chemistry.

There wasn't enough Jason Statham in this movie. I really liked Jakob so I'm sad that he clearly appears dead but, this show has brought back Han and Giselle so who knows?

Finally we get to Jason Mamoa,  he was awesome.  It was impressive to see him go from over the top campy to down right sinister.  I hear this is a planned trilogy, I look forward to the Aqua Bros team up.

If they were smart they'd treat this like a crossover.  Fast X, Hobbs & Shaw 2 and then Fast 11.

I didn't really like Shaw's sister, I'd rather have Deckard, Owen and Mama Shaw.

They wrote Paul Walker out of 9 by explaining

Spoiler

he took the kids to a safe location and was on guard duty. With a body double coming in at the end to show his back when  all was safe

I got a feeling that was the cost to get Dwayne Johnson back.  Throwing out the Shaw and Hobbs families that leaves Devon Aoki's Suki and Eva Mendes Customs Agent Monica Fuentes as among the few not invited back, well Eva Mendes since the Fast Five post credits scene

So just a Hobbs movie? Because it doesn't really work unless he has someone to play off.

I bet the deal came to late to punch the Shaw's into the story like Spider-Man was into Captain America Civil War. Kevin Hart as the alpha dog Air Marshal is a good bet.

To get by the blockhead the movie can't be called Hobbs. Meanwhile to get by the rock head it has to be called his. After watching Young Rock I am ashamed of Johnson. His father's first lesson was the put his performance partner over, something he has forgotten as a movie star.

Gisele! Omg I was so happy to see her.

Cliffhanger ending to 2025. Noo.

That was quite the possible death count, Dom and little Dom, everyone on the plane, Jacob.

Where did Captain America go? He jumped out in time.

Jason Momoas character was probably the most entertaining big bad they've had.  He played him so well and fun

Where is Brian and kids?  The safe house doesn't make sense now that Dom rebuilt the house and raising a child there.  Mia ran off to Brian and kids so they're in driving distance? But they weren't at the BBQ with grandma? And Brian's not involving himself in anything to save anyone is against his character.

Nice seeing the cameo by Meadow Walker.

Speaking of which where did grandma come from?

I am going to assume that the only death that sticks is Jacobs, lets be honest somehow everyone else will survive (not saying it will make sense but that's how this goes...)

I loved Jason in this, not sure if they told him to amp it up or it was his decision but he just looked like he was having a blast.

I am going to assume that all Brian stuff will completely be off camera since we are still pretending he's still around, maybe in the last final movie he will make some sort of CGI appearance.  Once again, it doesn't have to make sense, they are just going to go with it.

I was also wondering where this grandma in the beginning came from, have we ever heard of her before this one?  I have seen most of these movies but I don't remember her, maybe it's Letty's mom?

Also just for kicks my kids and I have started counting how many times the word family is used, in the 6th movie (which we watched a few days before seeing FastX) it was used 10 times, in this movie....25 and that's just the word family, not when it was implied....it's a fun new game.

Well the secret agent/mercenary secret brother showed up in 9. Along with a cousin in Cuba. But I guess the first mention of the team from the first Point Break remake movie was the cameo in Tokyo Drift where Han was proclaimed as family as Dom went on a memorial race/ride with the new Drift King turned rocket car scientist Sean.

I believe she's supposed to be Dom/Mia/Jacob's Abuela.  Which was really weird because Toretto just screams Italian-American to me. Also weird is that in Fast 8, Dom/Letty are in Cuba with Dom's cousin but Rita Morano is Perto Rican. Basically I think the Fast & Furious Saga just does super well internationally so they're all over the place with ethnicity and try not to think too hard about any of it. 😆

I had to look up what character she played, that was cute/nice touch.

It's hilarious to me how many people bought into Rock saying he was never coming back. It ain't because of Black Adam issues. That man comes from pro wrestling. He knows how to play up angles for heightened drama.

With Paul gone, there is way too much Vin in these now. There is less of everyone else as a result.

I also hate splitting up teams in movies. It only truly works when the characters are really good or there are plenty of different dynamics to explore.

Wrestling and selling his opponent's moves might be his root but as an actor the demand that his character has to get more hits in the other guy has been dragging down Mr Franchise Viagra

That's all behind the scenes stuff that I'm not talking about. His public feud with Vin is always something he played up. He was always going to do business and come back. His ego, in reality, is a whole other thing.
