Jaded February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 Thank you for fixing the TV Show Index issue that was going on with the dark theme and all the other fixes made. The posts I made about the Index previously were never approved so I wasn't able to not wonder about it during the time I always end up spending here...🙃 1 Link to comment
Meraji February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 The thing that's still a problem for me is when searching for a show in dark mode it's practically impossible to read the options that come up. Basically it's white on white. I search for shows quite a bit and this kind of an annoyance. 1 Link to comment

It's ridiculous; as I noted, "user" changes to "users" when there are more than one, so I see no reason "is" can't change to "are" at the same time, but if they somehow didn't catch the error and everyone just assumes someone else has already told them about it, it will remain. I'm working on teaching myself to ignore it, but it's blatant, and it bugs. I'm also mildly annoyed at the grammar thing, and I agree that as a client, maybe it's worth reaching out to the provider. But zooming out a bit, I'm a little curious what the benefit is from seeing how many other posters are looking at something at a given time. Especially since it doesn't seem to show who those posters are (for those who opt in to displaying that information). I suppose if it's a freebee that comes with the software, then fine, leave it; but if it takes any bandwidth from any more critical functions of the site, I'd say turn it off! Link to comment
AllAstronauts February 9, 2023 Share February 9, 2023 It's "free" with the site now, no overhead. Just a general point of interest that shows you that there are others "hanging" in the topic at any given time - above and beyond any "user is online" indicator which have been a thing for eons now. The forums could have a little green dot next to your name in posts indicating that you are "online" but that is session based and only means you could be online or were online in the last 15 minutes or so (before your session gets wiped if you aren't actually doing anything here). This new bit is much more "live" and actually meaningful in that if it says 1 person (12 persons, whatever) then yes, they are here right now. 1 Link to comment

AllAstronauts February 10, 2023 Share February 10, 2023 It's a rabbit hole I don't think the dev's want to deal with any time soon. You can have a hellacious number of nested quotes so... Random dev note: when you quote something, that's a permanent one time embed. If the member who is quoted edits that content, your embedded quote will not update to reflect that. And that's a good thing. If these quotes were live embeds that's a murder of individual content loads on every page load. 1 Link to comment

I mainly do the extra steps because the default is to require the viewer to click to see the hidden portion of a quote box, which is anything more than about 3 lines of a quote. Or: Mouse over the curvy arrow in the quote box of the original post you want to quote, like: --and then either click on it, or, if you want to open it in a new tab, right-click. Then click on the three-dots and choose "Share" to copy the link to the original post you wanted to quote, which you can paste into your post. And then quote it. This sounds more complicated than it is, and I'm not sure that more images would clarify. It's actually very intuitive once you've done it a time or 2. 1 Link to comment

ChristmasJones February 11, 2023 Share February 11, 2023 Not sure what might be going on here ... I am subscribed to the 90 Day Fiance Forum, which appears in my Forums list. I am also subscribed to several of the sub-forums of the 90 Day Fiance forum. Each of these sub-forums shows up separately on my Forums list. Except one. The 90 Day Fiance: Other Spinoffs and Specials forum. It never shows up in my Forums list even though I am subscribed to it (it appears in my Managed Followed Content section). Connected to this is another issue. I am subscribed to several Topics, and they all show up in both my Manage Followed Content section and my Forums list. Except one. The Darcey and Stacey topic, which happens to be in the 90 Day Fiance: Other Spinoffs and Specials forum. It makes me wonder if some setting in the 90 Day Fiance: Other Spinoffs and Specials forum is off. Any help appreciated! Link to comment

AllAstronauts February 21, 2023 Share February 21, 2023 Brief note - theme is reverted to an OLDER one, so some things will be broken, funky. Waiting for the software host and provider to deal with something preventing an actual upgrade (which previous borked the current theme which was being upgraded) Sometimes managed cloud-stuff can be a PITA as it closes off things I can see/do to fix stuff when otherwise self-hosted. 2 5 Link to comment

AllAstronauts March 6, 2023 Share March 6, 2023 Apparently I exposed a hole in the cloud hosting, or something. Things have been "restored" to a point but I'm still in a holding pattern. You know its good when it takes two weeks before T2 gets back to you, and when they do, its not Tier 2 but actually one of the main programmers and they are having a meeting about it. But, as you can tell, the "new" theme is available again. 1 2 Link to comment
