I like that they brought in Camille's parents, I did not expect the story to go in this direction.

It was pretty funny how Alfie treated poor Emily on the street 🤣. Just leaving her no questions asked, I loved her frantic reaction to it.

And wow, the "reality check" discussion at the end of the episode was excellent. Emily made a lot of good points.

For me having seen the rest of the season 2 episodes, it seems sincere. Unless they are planning some sort of twist for season 3.

I don’t know what advice Camille’s mother gave her, but suspect it was along the lines of “keep your friends close and your enemies closer”.

Eh, this all seems a bit silly.  If she's determined to only be in Paris for a year ...  then why does she so desperately want to hold onto Camille's friendship?  If she has to deny her feelings for Gabriel and be dishonest about that ... what's the point?  It's already not a healthy friendship.  It would be nice if they could remain friends, but the way things played out with Gabriel, it's too hard, just be adults and admit that.  

I actually liked Emily's first outfit of the episode!  It was normal!  It had only one pattern and a color scheme that made sense!  It was all downhill from there, though.  Seriously, what are they doing with Camille's hair .... make it stoooooopppp.

It seems like I'm on an island by myself but... I like Emily. Her actions aren't the best but I still find her likeable. And that said I'm rooting for her and Gabriel.

But I agree - I'm not sure I believe Emily and Camille would be friends again in real life.

Yeah, I don't mind Emily.  She's pretty clueless sometimes and I like to laugh at some of her outfits and decisions, but I like her.

Because it's easier to have a long distance friendship than it is to have a long distance romantic relationship.  I'd want to keep that more than a  romantic relationship. 

Plus Camille offers more IMO.

Alfie's attitude about learning French is even worse than Emily's. You're in Paris for a year, and speaking the language makes things easier, as well as showing respect for where you're living.

I hope that Camille is genuine about wanting to be Emily's friend again, but I suspect her mom's advice involved getting Emily into a pact where she wouldn't go after Gabriel so that Camille can go after him when Emily goes back to Chicago. Which would be a pretty impressive long game if its true, don't mess with Camille's mom. 

I am guessing that Artie will be Emily's new love interest now that she called things off with Gabriel, but while he's good looking and I enjoy how he leaves Emily all flustered, he's even worse of a temporary transplant then Emily. Even if its just a year he should at least try to pick up some of the language of the country he lives in, just out of respect for the place and the people around him. At least Emily's (kind of) trying.

I will never understand this attitude. It's so lazy and, as you noted, disrespectful. Even if I'm in a foreign country for just a few days, I try to learn a few basic phrases and courtesy words.

I liked the Gemma-Tina C-storyline. Their enthusiasm about starring in a movie was so adorable. And Gemma's delivery when she said "I wish. That would have been the dream!" was really good and authentic, probably because the actress herself shares those ambitions of starring in movies. (since....you know...she is an actress 😅) Good episode overall!

No kidding. It’s so flat and lifeless. And if they’re going to centre part it (which they shouldn’t) it least flip it up a bit off her forehead. Her hair is fine, so it needs some body on top so it doesn’t just hang there dragging down her pretty face. A side part with some lift would do wonders.

Exactly. I understand feeling bad and apologizing, but let the friendship with Camille go.
