Two golden buzzer acts in the save (World Tae Kwon Do and Jimmie, plus Michael Winslow): "Simon, what happened?" [Several seconds of silence and Simon's shocked face.]

The audience doesn't agree with the judges' "expert" opinions? Is it that hard to figure out? (I was legit surprised Jimmie was in there, though.)

Why is Ben Platt doing this show? And is he wearing a pink jumpsuit?

I can't decide if I'm hoping this storm does or does not knock out my TV tonight.....

Tween Dance Crew vs Disney Princess vs Female Comic: And the comic wins it. Another surprise. I thought it'd be Disney Princess.

Shin Lim can't stay away, can he?

I did not miss Preacher. But I feel him on the people who can't 'hear' your name.

Spinning Aiden vs Korean Boy Band vs Youtube Singer: and it's Younger Tom Holland in the finals. I'm good with that. I have literally zero memory of Korean Soul's performance last night. Youtube girl was fine but there are so many singers on this show.

Family Man Mentalist vs Peter Rosalita (sorry, couldn't think of a snarky nickname that didn't feel like I was being mean to a little kid and AGT's facebook commentariat tells me that's not allowed): Dustin. I wouldn't put either one through but if I have to choose between the two of them I'd go with him. 

And the not-Dunkin Save: Jimmie! (I want to include his last name but I don't know how to spell it and I'm too lazy to look it up.)

Sofia, on Jimmie landing in this position: "I don't know what happened to America!"... Well, frankly, I suspect we're just kind of over this shit.

And the judges' pick: [I predict they will choose World Tae Kwon Do. They were a GB and Michael Winslow is a nostalgia act at best.] And I'm right.

Well, this is the most attention I've paid to an episode all season. What's up with that?

I was stunned that Tae Kwon Do was even made to go through the save process.  I was equally stunned that Winslow even made it to the save process.  Ameriker, Ameriker, Ameriker.  Simon was legit gobsmacked, imo.

Aiden was certainly great last night.  But, he has no shot at winning as a La Cirque-style act.  Simon was lying his patootie off when he declared him the one to beat.

That was the best presentation I have ever seen from Preacher.  His poise and his genuine confidence really came through.  Nice premise, but jokes were weak.  Not the worst choice to emcee the Luxor show.

LOVED Shoji's birthday segment.  Good on you, Shin.

So happy Peter didn't go through. No Simon, he wasn't better than Tory. Ameriker obviously heard how off key and out of tune he was and for once, that was more important than being young and cute. Gina is one of the few comics to actually make me laugh on this show so I'm glad she made it too. She was better than Preacher. Also glad about Aiden and Jimmie. Korean Soul was missing...something in their performance.

Just a few notes I made about last night's result show

.  Jimmie Herrod was in the Sonic safe.  I actually wasn't surprised.  People are tired of singers being in the finals.  Secondly, I don't think he's as popular as the judges make him out to be.

.  Sophia says, "I don't know what happen to America!"  Well, maybe America is finally waking up!  Some people like olives on their pizza.  Some don't.

.  Why do the remaining 2 contestants from the Instant Save have to tell why the judges should pick them?  I would really be pissed if my answer was the determining factor in me getting eliminated instead of my performance.

.  Ever wonder what AGT would be like if there weren't any sob stories?  Or any wokeness?  Or any pre-determined winners?

                  I WONDER ALL THE TIME.

To make people uncomfortable with the awkwardness? I sincerely doubt that their answers have any bearing on anything; the judges already know who they're gonna pick, despite all their dramatic dithering.

I don't know why they do that. Is it just to stretch out the clock? Surely the seasoned producers can do a better job. Heidi's hemming and hawing last night was particularly annoying.

If any of the judges honestly thought there was a real debate about which was better suited to a Vegas show (as they claim they're looking for), they need to quit. A big, flashy stage-filling performance vs a guy standing there making animal noises (however good he might be at it)...not really a question there.

Right at the beginning of the jidges' comments on their choice, I saw Simon VERY quickly glance at a turned over card which he quickly placed back upside down on the table.  I have little doubt the info on his card was the (his?) choice.  He was also unusually abrupt in designating the winner.  There was time to go to Howie if that were necessary.

I'm happy with the final results even though Jimmie and World TaeKwonDo were two of my favorites last night.  If it was a Vegas show, I think Aidan Bryant and the TaeKwonDo team fit perfectly.

Sorry, not sorry.  I'm calling producer hijinks again.  There is no way that Jimmie or the TKD performers were in the bottom.  IMO, they're just trying to create drama.

They did this a few years ago, where they'd do a one-hour "summary" show that was a lot of the sob stories and some of the judge's comments cut out.  It got some of the best ratings I'd seen from an "instant rerun", but I think they dropped it, either because they thought it was splitting the audience, or it was just too expensive.*

Producer meddling is an old reality TV tradition--there's even a movie from 1980 called "The Apple" where this was a plot point.  (It...launched Catherine Mary Stewart's career as well.)

* Kidding, but how a show with such a high budget can still sometimes look cheap is an achievement.

Well, technically they're in the middle. The AGT Save* acts are the people in 4th, 5th, and 6th place.

(According to Wikipedia, it was renamed the AGT Save this season; I have not paid enough attention to the blathering between acts to even catch that.)

Thanks for pointing this out. I don’t get the shock when they do this. These acts were in the top half. Jimmie probably was 4th in votes so I don’t get the judges horror except as a dramatic ploy. 
 

I think the right 5 went through although I would have traded out the magician for someone else. But I knew his story would keep him in.

What happened to Sofia's face? She looked so different from last season and the plastic surgery ages her ten years than her actual age.
