Complete casting has been announced for the upcoming Broadway comedy “The Shark Is Broken.” Two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman and Broadway alum Colin Donnell will star in the production, which is set to begin previews on July 25 and officially open on Aug. 10 at the Golden Theatre.
*  *  *
Directed by Guy Masterson, “The Shark Is Broken” imagines what happened between the three stars of Steven Spielberg’s “Jaws” — Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider — when mechanical problems caused a delay and the cameras were off.

Brightman will play Dreyfuss and Donnell will take on Scheider. As previously reported, Ian Shaw will take on the role of his father, Robert Shaw. Casting is by Jim Carnahan Casting.
*  *  *
“The Shark Is Broken” will play a strictly limited engagement through Nov. 19. The play is being produced by Sonia Friedman Productions, Scott Landis and GFour Productions.

More info about the current filming of EBR's new movie and casting call info for extras In Louisville, KY...

Another movie is taking over Louisville, and this time, it's a period piece about wrestling.

The film began filming within the past month, and sets have been popping up all over the Metro.
*  *  *
According to director Ash Avildsen's Instagram, the movie will be based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book "Queen of the Ring: Sex, Muscles, Diamonds, and the Making of an American Legend" by Jeff Leen.

We have seen the name of the movie be called "Millie" and "Queen of the Ring," the latter of which is used on the IMDb page.
*  *  *
According to IMDb, the main character, Millie, will be played by Emily Bett Rickards. She's been in the superhero shows "Arrow" and "The Flash."
*  *  *
Some of the locations crews have been spotted at include the Ohio Valley Wrestling in Newburg and Saint James Court in Old Louisville.

Set signs and old cars have been seen in downtown Louisville, like near the Louisville Palace.

A farm in east Louisville is being used as the set for what appears to be a carnival scene. Photos show a carnival style tent and a ferris wheel.
*  *  *
Casting calls are being posted on Kathy Campbell's Facebook page. She's a casting director for the film.

You can also fill out this form: click here.

Since the film is set in the 1940s, period attire is needed.

The film promises to pay $12 an hour with a guarantee of 8 hours per day. Kids 13 and up will also be considered if a parent is willing to work as an extra alongside of them.

It's unclear how long the movie will be filming, but at least one of the extras forms says people are needed through July 18.

Cassidy — who confirmed she and the Chesapeake Shores alum are a real-life item earlier this month — recalled first meeting her beau and being hesitant to work closely with another “pretty Canadian, really attractive” actor “named Stephen.” (Cassidy starred opposite Canada native Stephen Amell on The CW’s Arrow from 2012 to 2015 as Laurel Lance. She later returned as Black Canary.)

“But Stephen [Amell] was like a brother to me. Then I don’t know, it was like, after the first week I was like, over in my own world-ish,” she told Us, sharing that it was Huszar’s crystal bracelets — “I’m very drawn to [crystals],” she explained — that had her wondering if there was something more blossoming between them. “I was like, ‘Wait a second. What do you know about these and why do you have these? There’s something happening here,’” she said.

The Science (and Schmience) of the Arrowverse
...
As The Flash TV series races to its finish line, revisit the Arrowverse from its beginning in Arrow through Legends of Tomorrow, Supergirl, Superman & Lois, and more with an exploration of the science, science fiction, and fantasy behind these great stories. How do the writers and showrunners address superspeed, superstrength, time travel, psychological science, and how a hero can fly? Do they make it all up, look up the real science, and find a creative mix somewhere in between? Dr. Travis Langley (Batman and Psychology, Spider-Man Psychology) asks a panel of experts how—and if—any of it might work: Jonathan Butler (The Flash), Deric A. Hughes (Arrow, Quantum Leap), Kristi Korzec (Superman & Lois), Ray Utarnachitt (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Janina Scarlet (Dark Agents), and maybe a surprise guest or two.

I have to ask: what was it like to don the iconic Green Arrow costume?
I didn’t even know that I was going to get a suit! The costume designer pulled me aside and she showed me this drawing and I asked, ‘What’s this?’ And she said, ‘This is your suit.’ I almost passed out right then and there because I was so in awe [both laugh]. I loved that process because I got to watch them build the suit. They’re meant to be form-fitting and it takes months and months as they go down to every detail. It’s made by a company called Ocean Drive Leather who are so brilliant. I walked in, I hadn’t even talked to them beforehand, I put on the pieces of the suit, and they had created a fabric that had little, tiny arrowheads on it. Little teeny tiny green arrows all over, that no one else knew about. They feed on collaboration. They allowed me to have my say as well. I wanted to redesign the shape of the mask and they went back to the original Green Arrow comics and said, ‘What if we do a play on what Green Arrow was back when it was first drawn?’ It was a little different than Oliver’s. Every stripe and every piece were made to fit Mia and to fit the kind of fighting she does. Those are the things that mean the world and then that suit becomes your home of sorts. It becomes a second skin.

I didn’t realize how much the suit meant to me until I put it on again. So, I went back to The Flash for the first time, it was my first proper job after the pandemic. I just landed in Vancouver, went to the studio, hadn’t seen anybody, and barely read the script. I walked in and it was hanging on the rack. I burst into tears because it just felt like coming home. We all went through so much during the pandemic, we all went through our journeys. But I realized at that moment that that’s what I’d been missing. That sense of collaboration that I’d had for so many years on Shadowhunters and Arrow. I was finally home.

Did you get to keep the suit?
I’ve been begging for four years [both laugh] I’m going to knock on Greg Berlanti’s door.

Is there another hero you’d like to take a crack at?
I’d love to bring Green Arrow over to the DC films. I think Mia Smoak would have a very interesting time in this new universe that James Gunn is recreating over there. But again, that’s all a mishmash of DC mythology that is way above my pay grade. I love the world of superheroes. There’s something really beautiful about this idea that there are these paragons of these morals and values that we aspire to. There’s such a tradition with each hero. And when you’re given that mantle, it hits you: ‘Oh, no, I am the guardian of this. This is mine and mine to care for and to be responsible for.’ There are a lot of things to consider, but even more so when it’s a superhero character because there are comics and years and years’ worth of lore. I love a lot of DC and a lot of Marvel as well. There are so many stories of people that come out of some sort of hardship or tragedy or choice that they’ve had to make. They’ve either chosen to be a hero or a villain. I find those choices are what make you who you are.
*  *  *
And lastly, what is something you’d like to manifest for yourself in 2023?
I want to find the next step. So many things have come into my life at the perfect time. I’m looking for the next challenge. I wrapped an action movie in Bulgaria earlier this year, where I was fighting most of the film. I did about 90% of my stunts. I was fighting for days straight and that was a new challenge. That’s what I’m looking for. Something that’s going to aid in my next stage of evolution as a creative. I learn something as a person through that, I learn more as an artist and I’m scared but that’s how you grow. Scared is good.

SA and DR panel at Montreal Comic Con this past weekend...

Montreal Comiccon 2023 - (Most of) Arrow Panel
Clara Ginevra   Jul 15, 2023

-- SA: "We can talk about David. We can talk about me. We can talk about Canada. But we can't talk about Arrow. You know what? Let's just - f**k this."
DR: "Yeah, f**k it. Yeah... let's just go."

-- SA: "The final episode of Arrow, for me, was actually not the easiest time that I've had. But going back in the final season of The Flash and getting to do the scene with David and with Grant, um, that was really special. That actually gave me closure."
DR: "It's interesting about that moment, too, let me give me you a little bit of insight on this man next to me... On that episode of Flash, he - Stephen said, uh, something very revealing, and it was revealing as an actor and as a person, and just how seriously he's always taken what he does in his work, but also just how much he wanted to, um, really do honor to Oliver - which he's always wanted to do. But this is what he said. And we're on set... and he said, um, you know, I'm doing Heels and - he doesn't say, I've been doing Heels, but he's like, you know, I haven't been doing this in a while and I just want to - I want to make sure I do this right. ... I think this speaks great about who this guy is and how seriously he takes the role. I really admired him."

-- Some talk about the stunt work on Arrow and how much they were allowed to do versus how much the stunt guys did. SA talked again about doing the stunt of swinging down from the tree in the Season 2 premiere of Arrow where Oliver rescues Felicity from a land mine on Lian Yu.

-- Some talk about the differences between filming in Canada and filming in the U.S. SA talked again about the differences in filming Arrow in Canada and filming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in U.S.

-- Fan asked if they were chosen to play their roles on Arrow or whether they had to audition. DR said that at the time he had a recurring role on Blue Bloods, of which Greg Berlanti and his father were fans. DR got a call saying that they wanted to meet him and had a role in mind for him, that his character would not have much to do in the pilot but that he would become Oliver's "guy" later on. DR also said that Diggle actually became part of the DC comic lore, thanks to the fans' response to Diggle.
DR: "There was just a sequence of very fortunate events for me and for the show in general. Every single time someone came on the show, it was just chemistry. That's another story. But I just think the - the show was - was just kind of touched in that sense... We just had fortunate after fortunate event."
SA: "I auditioned... I was the first person to audition. ... Grant Gustin was the first person to audition. Melissa Benoist was the first person to audition... for David Rapaport... Maybe he thought I was on Glee." He added that his wife and daughter are now watching Glee and joked, "Why is Grant Gustin the same age that he was 14 years ago?"

-- SA: "My favorite season is Season 1. My favorite season to watch is Season 2. The season I'm most proud of is Season 5."
DR: "For me... Season 1 is so nostalgic... because, man, it's just lightning. It was just lightning. ... I mean, we were in the shadow of Smallville, you know, and you just ripped it, bro."

-- SA (joking): "Favorite villain was David in Season 6 when he was mad at me... because that was totally uncalled for." SA added that the scene where Oliver and Diggle physically fight might be his "favorite scene" in the series. SA then said, more seriously, that his favorite villain was Josh Segarra, who played Prometheus.
DR: "For me, it was Manu - Manu Bennett. Deathstroke."

-- DR: "I remember at this comic con - I don't know if it was Season - maybe 4, maybe 3 - and we were in San Diego... Me, Stephen and Emily were there, along with the other cast, and we just - and there were a thousand people there - and we just kind of had a moment when we were just like - we're like, wow. Right? Like, look at this, man. ... It's like, you know, we were hunting for this and we got it. We got it, you know. ... And we were back there and he made the introduction and Stephen heard the crowd and we're just like, we just didn't have any idea there were this many people, you know? And not that - not that we were expecting small number, it's just - it's just, we're still like, wow. We're still, wow, man."

-- When asked for their favorite crossover episode, both DR and SA picked Elseworlds. DR: "You ever see him in the Flash outfit? That's all I gotta say, bro." SA said that he had to shoot a serious scene with Grant and Melissa, and the rest of the Arrow cast, and they all said, "We can't... You look stupid." SA said that he felt "very self-conscious. I looked so stupid."

-- Some talk about the salmon ladder. DR has never done the salmon ladder.

-- Some wrestling talk. Fan asked about a "hypothetical wrestling show" titled Faces.

-- Fan asked about the cancellation of Justice U. DR said that he didn’t know anything (even if he could talk about it) because it was "way above my head."

-- SA talked again about how there once was discussion of an Arrow movie that would take place between Season 2 and Season 3, which would've lined up perfectly with the mid-season finale where Oliver fought Ra's al Ghul.

-- When asked if there were any stories that they wish could've been done on Arrow, SA joked: "Maybe Oliver and Diggle going on a friend date."
DR said that he missed having closure between Oliver and Diggle on Arrow, but that The Flash ended up doing that closure.

Arrow: The 20 Best Felicity Smoak Episodes In The Series
by Tamali Banerjee  Sunday, 23 July 2023

Quote

By the time they got to season 2, the Firestorm-related character was a full-time character because of Emily Bett Rickards’s performance and the response from the audience.

When just Oliver and Diggle were in the lair at the beginning of Season 1, it was gloomy. The moment Oliver started looking at Felicity, the show became its own.
*  *  *
10. The Odyssey (Season 1, Episode 14)
...
This episode perfectly encapsulates Felicity’s most outstanding qualities: she improves the computer systems inside the lair, fixes the defibrillator’s circuitry, breaks into the cop’s crime lab to steal damaging proof, and is ready to help them with their immediate goals.
*  *  *
9. Time Of Death (Season 2, Episode 14)
...
With Rickards portraying a range of emotions, the episode’s underlying narrative tackles how incompetent Felicity feels upon this team until realizing that her abilities are needed.
*  *  *
8. City of Blood (Season 2, Episode 21)
...
She proves that there are other methods to interrogate someone by informing one of Sebastian’s thugs that she can ruin all of his wealth by pressing a button in a humorous conversation where Felicity is titled a “b**ch” before saying, “a b**ch with Wi-Fi.
*  *  *
7. Underneath (Season 5, Episode 20)
...
Rickards and Amell have the opportunity to elicit strong feelings from the viewers throughout the Olicity-centered episode, and they do it to their satisfaction by bringing in a new phase of communication and reconciliation at the show’s finale.
*  *  *
5. The Secret Origin Of Felicity Smoak (Season 3, Episode 5)
...
Rickards demonstrates her ability to carry an entire episode on her own, so as a treat, we get a glimpse of Felicity and Donna’s endearing friendship.

20. Suicide Squad (Season 2, Episode 16)
19. The Huntress Returns (Season 1, Episode 17)
18. So It Begins (Season 5, Episode 6)

-- On how the Arrow TV show happened, MG: "Greg Berlanti and I had done a show called Eli Stone, and we co-wrote with Michael Green, an Academy Award nominated, beloved superhero film called Green Lantern. (Interviewer interjects that he thinks Green Lantern will become a cult classic) ... Basically what happened was Greg, Michael and I were taken off the movie, another writer was brought in and another director - Greg was going to direct it and another director was brought in, and we ended up with the movie that you saw. Um, but suffice it to say, the experience was not a great one for us. The outcome was not a great one for us. And the movie actually came out basically the same week that Greg returned to Warner Brothers, uh, on the TV side. And, um, Peter Roth, the head of television at Warner Brothers Time, said to him like, I remember going to lunch with you and you had the most amazing idea for a Green Arrow TV show. I really wanted that to be the first thing you do. And Greg and I had been talking about doing it, you know, together, but then Green Lantern comes out and, you know, it bombs... and we're sort of being excoriated, uh, in all the reviews. And we're like, do we really want to do another superhero? Do we really want to do another DC superhero? Do we really, really want to do a DC superhero with 'green' in the name? Like, I mean, how - how - how stupid are we? And then, by the way, cut to, you know, 10 years later - um, the answer is, pretty stupid, um, because we did end up doing it. The reason I mentioned Green Lantern is - is that we eventually did do it, obviously, but Green Lantern taught us, not that we don't know how to do these characters - we actually do. I always tell people, a simple Google search will surface our first draft, um, so you can read what we originally had in mind. But it taught us that if we're gonna do these characters, we need total control. We - we need to be able to see our vision through to completion. And we basically made these ridiculous lists of demands of both Warner Brothers and The CW, and they said, yeah, sure, uh, pretty much. Uh, and that's really how - how Arrow came about It was - it was Greg's, you know, vision. Um, you know, Greg saw very clearly, you know, the - the flashback structure, the island, the, um, you know, the - the idea of Oliver not as the quippy sort of uber liberal, funny Oliver Queen of the comics, but as someone who is more like Brody from Homeland, who sort of returns home after years of basically physical and emotional torture. Um, has - has he been broken by that experience? Um, you know, Homeland was actually as big an influence on us, uh, from the character of Brody to Oliver as any of the comics."

-- On casting Arrow, MG: "I remember very vividly we were casting Arrow out of Greg's offices... His offices were sort of like, there was like one big office for the president of his company and there was a long hallway and then Greg's office at the other end of the hallway. So we were casting out of the president's office. And Greg said, you know, 'I'm gonna go down the hall... I gotta go work. If you see anyone good, um, bring me over.' So the very first person to come in - the very first audition - forget about audition for Oliver - audition at all - is Stephen Amell for Oliver Queen. We watch his audition. One of us runs, like literally runs down that hallway, knocks on Greg's door, and Greg's like, 'there's no way you saw someone good that fast.' And we're like... not only did we see someone good, we saw Oliver. Like, it wasn't even a question. Like, I mean, to the point where, you know, when you cast a network pilot, you actually have to bring to the network another two actors at least, a minimum, to test. We didn't even know who we would pick for number two. And to this day, I still can't tell you who number two was, because - I mean, that poor bastard, whoever he was, like, had no chance. I mean, I actually - Stephen so blew me away that I saved his audition on my computer. Like, I have - still have his original audition, because I was like, even if we don't end up casting him for whatever reason - we can't make a deal, the network doesn't like him, whatever - I'm like, this guy? This guy's a star."

-- On SA's training sequence, MG: "While David [Nutter, director of Arrow pilot,] was up in Vancouver prepping the show, Stephen was down in Los Angeles working with a trainer to bulk up and - and learn the parkour stuff we wanted him to do and the fighting stuff with someone from American Ninja Warrior. And, uh, Stephen would just occasionally send phone videos up to Vancouver, you know, for David to see, like, 'oh, I'm doing this today, I'm doing that today.' And he sent the salmon ladder video, the video of him - like,' this - this trainer's got me doing this.' And David - again, the man is Steven Spielberg - he immediately - he immediately saw the potential. He saw that it would be iconic, um, because, you know, this was something that none of us had ever seen before... And Stephen was doing it. I mean, he was just like doing these, up and down, up and down. Um, so it was like, we're putting that in - putting it in the show."

-- On managing fans' expectations and establishing a theme in storytelling (during discussion of the Picard streaming series), MG: "It's about something. There's a reason for that story to exist beyond just what the fans want. ... This is true for anything, I think... You know, everyone says like, what makes any story is character. Um, and I agree with that, but I think, ahead of character, it should always be theme. What's this thing about? Why are we watching it? You know, why does this story, in whatever form, need to come into existence?"

Preview performances of the West End splash-hit The Shark Is Broken begin tonight at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street).

THE SHARK IS BROKEN stars two-time Tony Award nominee Alex Brightman (Beetlejuice, School of Rock) as Richard Dreyfuss, Colin Donnell (Anything Goes, “Chicago Med”) as Roy Scheider, and Ian Shaw who will make his Broadway debut portraying his father Robert Shaw, who played “Quint” in JAWS.  Co-written by Ian Shaw and Joseph Nixon, this new Olivier Award-nominated comedy imagines what happened on board “The Orca” when the cameras stopped rolling during the filming of Steven Spielberg’s blockbuster, JAWS.

FADE IN: The open ocean, 1974. Filming on JAWS is delayed…again. The film’s lead actors—theatre veteran Robert Shaw and young Hollywood hotshots, Richard Dreyfuss and Roy Scheider—are crammed into a too-small boat, entirely at the mercy of foul weather and a faulty mechanical co-star. Alcohol flows, egos collide, and tempers flare on a chaotic voyage that just might lead to cinematic magic…if it doesn’t sink them all.

Arrow Star Stephen Amell Attempts to Clarify Anti-Strike Comments After Backlash
BY ALEX STEDMAN    AUG 1, 2023
https://www.ign.com/articles/arrow-star-stephen-amell-attempts-to-clarify-anti-strike-comments-after-backlash

Quote

Arrow and Heels star Stephen Amell has issued a lengthy statement attempting to clarify his recent comments on the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, which attracted tons of negative attention on social media.

Previously, Amell was seen in a video taken at GalaxyCon in North Carolina over the weekend, where he said, “I support my union, I do, and I stand with them. I do not support striking. I don't. I think that it's a reductive negotiating tactic, and I find the entire thing incredibly frustrating.”
*  *  *
“I think that the thinking as it pertains to shows like one I’m on that premiered last night, I think that it’s myopic,” he went on.

Amell was referring to Starz’s Heels, which just had its Season 2 premiere on July 28. ...
*  *  *
Amell, however, attempted to clarify his comments with a long Instagram post this morning, breaking down his controversial statements in detail.

“Understandably, there has been a lot of reaction to the comments I made this weekend about our strike,” he began. “To ensure there is no misunderstanding about my thoughts and intentions I’m providing what I actually said and clarity/context to ensure my feelings aren’t unintentionally misinterpreted. We all know soundbites can be taken out of context and I have too much respect for my fellow union members to not clarify the record.”

He started with his statement that he “support[s ] my union,” saying that that doesn’t need much clarity and that his support for them is “unconditional.” Moving onto his statement that he “do[es] not support striking,” he wrote:

“What this means in full context: I understand fundamentally why we’re here. My off the cuff use of the word ‘support’ is clearly contradictory to my true feelings and my emphatic statement that I stand with my union. Of course I don’t like striking. Nobody does. But we have to do what we have to do.”
*  * *
He then moved to clarify his comment about finding striking “a reductive negotiating tactic": “In full context: I’m an actor and I was speaking extemporaneously for over an hour. I emote, but I certainly don’t think these issues are simple. Our leadership has an incredibly complicated job and I am grateful for all that they do. Despite some of my terrible early acting work, I assure you, I’m not a robot. From an intellectual perspective, I understand why we are striking, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t emotionally frustrating on many levels for all involved.”

In regards to the comment where he called it “myopic,” he took a self-deprecating approach, calling it “an inarticulate shoutout to our crew and cast, who mean the world to me.” He added that he is “simply sad” he doesn’t have the chance to “celebrate” the release of Heels Season 2.

“As I said from the jump, I want to ensure that my thoughts and intentions are not misconstrued,” he concluded. “This situation reminds of the proverb, ‘the road to hell is paved with good intentions,’ which apparently, after reading a limited amount of the commentary, is a place many of you would like me to visit. However, at least for the foreseeable future, I choose to stand with my union. When you see me on a picket line please don’t whip any hard fruit.”

ARROW REUNION PICKET

For the past several weeks, my co-showrunners Wendy Mericle, Beth Schwartz and I have been organizing an ARROW REUNION PICKET for alums who are writers or actors, fans, and anyone else who would like to attend.
*  *  *
At the event, we’ll be selling 150 Arrow bucket hats with the proceeds (not profits) going to benefit the Union Solidarity Coalition to provide financial support to crew members who have lost health insurance.
*  *  *
And I’ll be bringing plenty of sharpies in case people want to collect autographs. (Is that still a thing?)

I’m writing this semi-fresh from the Arrow reunion picket that Arrow showrunners Beth Schwartz, Wendy Mericle, and I organized at Warner Bros. Studios. As Arrowverse casting director extraordinaire David Rappaport observed, “it’s like being at my bar mitzvah, I’m seeing so many people I haven’t seen in forever.”
*  *  *
Writers, support staff, and actors from Arrow’s eight seasons were in attendance along with a huge number of wonderful and enthusiastic fans. At its best, Arrow has always felt like one big family and that absolutely encapsulates the event today.
*  *  *
Terry, one of the INCREDIBLE SAG/AFTRA lot captains (sorry I didn’t get your last name, Terry!), told me that we brought a lot of people out, so I’m extremely pleased about that. Arrowverse leader Greg Berlanti and the staff of Rick & Morty provided food trucks.

We sold limited edition Arrow bucket hats and auctioned off Arrow swag to raise nearly $1800 for the Union Solidarity Coalition to provide healthcare for crewmembers who have been impacted by the two strikes.
*  *  *
The Hollywood Reporter was on hand to cover the event. You can read their coverage here.
*  *  *
I’m incredibly grateful for everyone who came out to support the WGA and SAG/AFTRA today. The talented professionals behind Arrow and the fans who support them are a very special breed and I’m indebted to every single one.

I'm not up on Sa or Arrow gossip, why would there be confrontations between SA and others? Or is it a general thing?

After his anti-strike and anti-union comments went viral after a con a number of WGA and SAG members tweeted scathing responses, including his friend Carina McKenzie and Kirk Acevedo. Most of the other Arrowverse actors have not only voiced support for both strikes but have been on the picket line at least once before Arrow reunion day so he's alone on that island. I don't see him getting into a fistfight or anything but I think Kirk, who was among the actors in LA, at minimum would have said something to him. Amell's team is on major damage control and can't risk the bad PR of a confrontation getting out.

Thanks, I hadn't actually seen any of that. SA has a habit of sometimes putting his  foot in it and I get why he might be frustrated because of S2 of Heels coming out (but a lot of people are in exactly the same boat and haven't complained) it seems extremely unwise to make those comments - not to mention long term interests of actors and writers are with the strikes and will hopefully be fairer for all, including him.

I doubt anyone would have come to blows but it may have come back in the press more if anyone saw tension or words being had.

Can't say I think much of Carina McKenzie or KA and their public behaviour either sometimes, but I don't blame anyone in WGA or SAG for scathing responses.

Arrow Star Stephen Amell: SAG-AFTRA "Educated Me" on Strike Importance

... While Amell wasn't able to join the Arrowverse family on the west coast, he did join the SAG-AFTRA picket lines in NYC earlier that day (check out some images here) – and made sure to send his support to the west coast. Now, thanks to TMZ, we're getting a better understanding of where Amell's mindset is now regarding the strike in a video filmed not long after Amell walked the picket line in NYC.
*  *  *
In the video clip posted by TMZ, Amell doesn't shy away from not being a big believer in the idea of "striking" in the bigger picture (like how it impacts so many outside of the union) but also admits that he misspoke and that he could've done a better job of clarifying his position. Amell also continued to offer his full support for SAG-AFTRA, crediting the union's leadership for giving him a better understanding of everything that was at stake and the reasoning behind the decisions that were made – decisions that Amell was told were not made lightly. ....
