I was ready to write this whole review, slamming the show for putting "Stupid Street" on full display, how they've regressed the character and perhaps irreparably damaged him.

...but that ending. That's one great fakeout.

I mean, I still have a ton of questions about the mechanics of this operation...but that takes a backseat to one of TV's best written fakeouts.

I'm still processing how great it was.

There also was a case, which was pretty interesting. Yeah, "evil seductress" isn't a new character, but an evil seductress that seduces three different crews of people to rob casinos and high stakes gambling rings? That's some major league dealing right there.

Oh, and Hondo shot her without even flinching or moping about it...go figure.

As for Deacon...well, glad he's got this new great gig. We'll see if it's nothing but a scam later...which, as a development would be a groaner but something doesn't sit right with me on all this. We'll see how it goes.

I'm glad they didn't drag it out.

I was hoping that the show wouldn't do the same exact plot.

They were hitting the "Street is at it again" pretty hard, so I had to believe that at least the captain was in on it. I'm just afraid now Chris is going to do something incredibly stupid due to everyone involved playing this off so well.

Chris is the real wild card here. In her effort to "save" Street, she may ruin everything.

I started suspecting Street was undercover about halfway through. Glad to see I was right. I do wonder if Street really shot those robbers or that was a setup

As for Deacon, he’s right to be cautious, but not for the reason he gave. Buck came off as a little too desperate for the deal to go through

Has to be a set up. While I knew that they weren't going to remake the movie where a legacy character broke bad I still say hold back on the reveal.

I agree. I don't know what they're trying to do with Buck's character here, but I have a feeling all of that goodwill he's shored up is about to be tested. Him trying to blackmail Deac into taking the deal sent up a huge red flag for me. But Deac was too nice to tell him to stuff it.

For the record, the actor who played Owen- Buck's business partner- is Bailey Chase, who has a history of playing slick, smooth talkers who are a bit shady (I remember him best as the UnSub who shot Garcia on Criminal Minds). It's not a guarantee that Owen will be similarly shady but I'd say it might be a strong sign.

LOL I thought Buck had died. Dont they quote him when they are in the SWAT vehicle? Maybe I’m confusing him with someone else.

The ending surprised me too. Nice twist.

I love Deacon and I hate that he has financial difficulties. I’m always worried about him!

Bailey also was in Saving Grace with Kenny Johnson.  That character was a pretty upstanding guy.

Buck had Hondo's job in the pilot before shooting a kid by accident and being fired. So as everybody but Street's commander I guess he had his sayings, like they played a game about Hondo's tendencies in a later episode.?

If I recall correctly Hondo was jumped over Deacon and given a team command for political, needing a person of color, considerations, but then they both wear the same rank so I don't think Hondo gets more in pay because of his position.
