LOL at Landon loud-talking David in the middle of the bar. And Landon sweetie: lip balm. Look into it.

$25,000 an hour?! Is Candy's cooch made of gold?

Yeah, um, sorry Erica but I think the only thing Benny really wants to "go get" is his fellow towing business buddy. Benny is probably not driving in your lane, if you know what I mean.

Oh lawd, Hannah called Jim a demon to his face. Is she The Exorcist now? I think maybe she was thisclose to rolling around on the floor speaking in tongues.

Wyatt is a walking box of air but dang the body on him. Is he ever going to do anything on this show except be eye candy? Good work if you can get it.

Even if Oscar's rich, who hands over a paper bag full of $100k--in a public place no less? And why would he have to pay for a woman's attention anyway? There's something not right about that guy; could he and Landon be working together to put something over on Candace? Whatever, he might want to consider easing up on the shoe polish he's apparently using on his hair.

Those previews: oh yes, Veronica's about to get hers.

So whose room/apt did Quincy burst into saying “You lied to me.” Did Jeffrey give him the name of a the wrong  hotel or make it up, just to buy time? Because we haven’t seen Quincy go to the hotel yet. So why would he go back to Jeffrey saying you lied. I  must be missing something.

1)      So that entire scene with Candace and David in the hotel bar? – no one else was there? Come on Tyler, just stop it with Candy Cane touching people's crotches.

2)      Kathryn goes to Hannah’s house and says it “has a warm feeling” or something like that? WTF Really?

3)      When Jim grabbed Hannah’s ankle in Amanda’s room...after she came back after calling him a demon....I was like so what is she now  “the grief whisperer?”

4)      NO! Celine did NOT show up talking about Hannah being in her parking spot!!:)J! Lord, Jesus!

5)      Yo, bro? Is Benny’s tow-truck driver friend a “John Travolta in Grease” wanna be?

6)      Now you shut up, demon, in the name of Jesus! J (Hands raised, shaking in the air like I just don’t care.)

7)       I AM anxious to see who Candace’s admirer REALLY is.....

8)      Candace wanted to know how Landon found out about her “Oscar” admirer...its’ called GOOGLE. She’s supposed to be so smart and they give her DUMB dialogue like that!

9)      Candace is so big and bad...but she “blinked” asked Maggie about the interview with the law firm...AND “blinked” when Oscar the admirer went to walk away and called to him and ask him about bidding on auctions. Uh sweetie that info is readily available online. If she weren’t so busy being a ‘bad bitch” maybe she'd know that.

10) I see David will be given yet ANOTHER chance to show how "supposedly" bad ass, down and dirty he can be. Because the only time he TRIED to set someone up it backfired. He couldn't even set up a frame and he had the POLICE DOING IT. ...and he used his own damned bag in the set up.

As always it's the writing and character development that is just so amateurish on this show.  I know TP is laughing all the way to the bank. But damned man have some pride in you work! This is bad. (and not in a good way)

I've always it found it so Tyler Perry stupid.....that Kathryn and Ronnie make such a BIG DEAL of their status and wealth......YET despite this .....NEITHER has ANY home security...AND they have all these damning conversations and antics go on IN PUBLIC. AND there's not a reporter -- or hell, even a normal person -- with a cell phone, a camera catching ANY of this crap. It goes back to Candace being able to get into Jim's JUDGE'S chamber, he THREW HER OUT AND ON THE FLOOR, with a couple of people sitting in the hall way....NO reaction what so ever. She continues to show her ass at his home, his retirement party, the opening of his campaign office -- and NOTHING. No security at this events. Now she's putting her foot in David's crotch IN PUBLIC, and I guess were about to see a David Veronica argument scene -- IN PUBLIC, with extras and bar patrons seen in the shot...and NOTHING. David's walking around the hotel -- about to announce for Lt Gov -- future Gov Jim Just had a major life event a cancelled press conference, Ronnie is some big shot, Kathryn is high society -- and NONE of them have a gatekeeper?? not a trusted secretary, not a personal assistant, who is a "right hand person?" Hell, David is staying in the hotel separated from his wife, no reporters snooping about that? No, he' just sitting in the hotel bar or restaurant by himself sitting at a table with Candy's foot in his crotch....give me a break.

I haven't seen last night's episode yet, but last week Jeffery did give Quincy the wrong hotel name to buy some time.  Candace was at the Sarandon and Jeffery gave a different name (the Davis?).

I know Kathryn is all grief stricken, but why doesn't she or dumbass Jim just get the locks changed so Celine can't get in?

That John , um, I mean Oscar, bringing a bag o' money to the bar was just too much. Yes, Candy is the most desirable, beautiful, sexy whore that ever graced the earth that no man could resist unless you are gay or David, and it's totally believable that some rich guy is going to be sitting in the lounge staring at her for days before making a move on her. NOT! There better be more to the Oscar story or this is just a total waste of time. Tyler Perry better find a way to tie all this together, aren't there only like 2 eppy's left?

Benny and his Daddy... so they couldn't get him to admit the big I wanted you to die so I could have your kidney reveal. So then what was the point of that drawn out scene?

Oh, and it's nice to see Candy so heartbroken over the suicide of her dear friend. Good god almighty.

OK thanks. I didn't know where she was staying....the name never really was something I even think I heard.

As for Candy's admirer Oscar, David did tell Maggie that he looks familiar....so MAYBE there'll be something with that. But who knows this IS TP we're talking about.

And yes although, "Mr. Tony Watson"  did want to unplug Benny I'm sorry -- it HAS NOT -- been established that he ONLY wanted to do it for the kidney. Benny himself admitted he wouldn't have wanted to live like that.  Unless you have Tony saying to his doc...I know where I can get a kidney, my son's in a coma, how much time do I have to get it......to me, kidney issue is technically is irrelevant. The 'unplug' Benny issue was just rushed because -- of course in TP land -- every thing is either d r a g g e d  o u t forever, or rushed in the blink of an eye. HANNAH says Tony wanted to unplug Benny for the kidney. And as for me, that doesn't make it TRUE. Tony say's that's not "THE" reason. I will alwasy be debatable...and given that's the case...What WAS the point of that scene.

Oh and don't we see that Benny runs into the dead girls grandfather, who's paid Hannah another visit?

DEMONS!

Tony DID tell Hannah he was going to die without a kidney transplant. He believed Benny would never come out of the coma so wanted to pull the plug so he could have Benny's kidney. Judging from last night, he is still alive and looked fine, so there's that. Another one of Tyler Perry's inconsistancies...

Now that I've been able to catch up with the show through wonky cable/Internet: Renee Lawless and John Schneider have actually been good these past four or so episodes.  Particularly Renee, since Katheryn's gone through the wringer more than anybody else, but John has at least had moments here and there.  And I'm kind of ecstatic that we got a break from Veronica smarming all over everything...but less so that, as per usual Passions requirements, Amanda's death has largely been a weird angsty footnote up until yesterday's episode.

I'm astounded that Benny's still in the dark about the kidney thing, though, even if Tony and Hanna (while simultaneously exhorting him to "tell [benny]" the truth) are still sortakinda colluding to do it and cloaking it in his not wanting to be on life support.  I don't get it at this point: there was nothing to be gained by keeping it from him when he first came out of his coma, there's nothing to be gained by keeping it secret now, and Hanna still hates Tony like crazy.  Why continue to protect him?

Quincy the Terminator finally getting something resembling a personality pretty much just to torment Jeffery is kind of funny, but still largely lost on me.  Then again, so is Candace at this point...and they're both still far behind Queen Bitch Veronica on that score...which makes it darkly hilarious that we've got two stone psychos on this show, and one loony superbitch, and who does nearly everybody rail against?  Jim, the "demon."  (Although, going off the promo for next week's episode, it looks like Veronica's second-biggest misdeed is finally coming out--and I'm expecting the show to fuck it up.)

Celine...has apparently lost her natural damn mind.  I officially have no idea what's going on with her at this point, barring a possible obsession with Jim.

Candace's new friend Oscar had better be some sort of plant of David's, though (again, with this show) it would figure if he was a completely new adversary of hers.  Or an old one, since she's supposedly been running roughshod over people since before she first hooked up with Jim.

And since they keep going back to Hanna's new old car...even though it's not even the same model as Jeffery's old car (this is a Dodge Charger, and IIRC the original car was a Chrysler 300M or so on), I can't help thinking they're about to invoke soap logic in a huge way.  With only two episodes left in this season, though, I suspect that bombshell won't drop until the finale in two weeks.

Have faith?

Maybe we can pray the DEMONS' covering off of this show!:):):)

I know, right. Talk about a WTF moment. AND she comes in talking about "your in my parking space."

"Oh I get it I'll go and come back tomorrow....."

The Wyatt "go to your room" is beyond lame. The man/boy is 20-something years old and Jim's talking about, "I told you go to your room."

I'm still not crazy about John Schneider as an actor. But I GUESS his best work yet was this week when he was talking to Kathryn wondering "why he can't stop" and not knowing she knew about Celine when Amanda was born. His breakdown in A's room grabbing all over Hannah was just OK. I get that it was some great catharsis moment. But I wasn't really moved all that much but his emoting.

Perhaps Jeffrey's car was a Chrysler but the car Wyatt was driving when he hit Benny wasn't. It didn't have a Chrysler or Dodge grill. The emblem was blurred but I'm pretty sure it was a Mercedes. If it wasn't it was something like a high end Hyundai imitating a Mercedes. Of course, TP may have retconned that detail in order to pull a new plot device where Hannah is now driving the car.

Why continue to protect him?

It doesn't make much of a difference at this point unless Hannah definitely wants to kill any possibility of a relationship between Benny and Tony. If she really felt like that she could have told Benny long before now. Whatever, after what he went through from the accident, I doubt Benny would be allowed to give a kidney to Tony now.

Jeffery doesn't have a laptop or a tablet he could have used to get help? That is utterly unbelievable.

Please for give my ignorance, let's just say I'm of an age where I didn't grow up with computers. I have a flip phone, and laptop, but no tablet.

I don't do Facebook, LinkedIn,  or anything like that where if I log on I could get in touch with a live immediate contact that could send help right then. like calling the police would do.

But you're right, the computer is a mode of communication. How WOULD a person use the laptop to get help immediately? For example the only thing I can thing of (because like I said, I'm NOT tech savvy) is MAYBE come to a forum site like this post a note, and then eventually someone might see it. But who knows how long that could take. I'm sure it's obvious to some but I'm drawing a blank. But knowing what to do could save a life.

As for Jeffrey, we know David goes to check on him. But where does he run into him? Does Jeffrey FINALLY go TO David and spill all the beans about it, and everything thing else. Because let's think about this logically:

-- Jeffrey got out of the apt, but knowing what happened and that he gave Quincy a wrong name...would he go back to the apt. before seeing his dad or mom, or Candace.

-- but knowing Jeffrey -- he actually has NEVER RUN TO David to help him....so....EVEN AFTER THIS  would he NOT tell David about it, or keep even THIS between him and his mom.

Because the last we've seen, Jeffery isn't at the apartment (likely? won't be there when David gets there)...so will David find blood in Jeffrey's sink and the apartment tossed...does he then call Ronnie (without knowing exactly seeing Jeffery and knowing what happened)......does he go back to Candace's room BEFORE or AFTER running into Ronnie in the lobby.....then he finds out what happened and goes BACK and finds Ronnie ...does Ronnie and Qunicy's conversation about "what did you do" take place before or after, the conversation with David in the lobby.

I HOPE TP doesn't drag this out as sort of a David goes to the apt...meanwhile Jeffrey is going to David's hotel room, they miss each other. So in the mean time Jeffrey runs into Candace instead to warn her about Quincy.....and they're BOTH at the hotel when David get's back.

OMG  am I actually ANXIOUSLY awaiting next week's show??:):)

Dang It! I just realized I won't be able to watch this week's show tomorrow night/overnight (I'm off and I can only watch it at work)

Anyone know if OWN repeats the show on any other night besides the NEXT week, before that week's new episode?

Are FULL episodes available online, if so how many days later?

NEXT Tuesday I'll be able to catch the repeat, before the finale. But any place to watch it before then?

But I have to admit I was sort of looking forward to tomorrow night's show.

Link to comment

Come on! Some one get on here and give me the scoop! I won't be able to see the show until next week's repeat. So I've only seen three clips so far that Oprah.com is showing: 1) Kathryn and Jim (she's done, knows about the 7.4 mil and says he won't get a dime 2) David and Candace and then Jeffrey in her hotel room talking about Qunicy....AND 3) Veronica's 'simple bitch' tantrum.

Once again TP could have done sooo much better....Veronica's tantrum

-- The woman who wants to be in the governor's mansion acts out like that IN PUBLIC.

-- This is a VERY high-end hotel -- with political people staying there and ONCE AGAIN -- NO SECURITY!

-- So the people who ran from the bar had no cell phones, didn't scream and run to the front desk -- NO ONE...not a bellman, not a front desk clerk, not a security guard ANYWHERE to be found -- NO ONE steps in?

-- All she did was through bottles and toss tables. (apparently they didn't want the set messed up too much:)) And she ranted...you'd THINK she'd go after David -- and jump him to scratch his eyes out. But noooo, she never even threw a glass his way. So she's not THAT crazy. A REAL simple bitch would have jumped HIS ass.

I know I need to see the entire episode. I also can't wait to see if there's ANY fall out for Veronica from her getting Quincy out. Liner notes from the clip say Veronica thinks it was David you spilled the beans about her hiding the car. I suppose she doesn't know that WYATT knows, and she'd never think Jeffery would eventually grow a pair and turn her in. SO she just presumes it's David?

Fill me in what else good happened?

Aw crap, where do I start?? Welp - Jeffrey dragged his ass to the hospital and got fixed up by some doctor that he apparently knows on a personal note, cuz the dude told him to give him a call on his cell phone if the pain got too bad once the meds wore off - he's a got a couple of bruised ribs and his face got beat the hell down as well.. David found out that Ronnie was behind it, and also got Quincy (fake ass thug) outta prison and he wasn't happy - he went the fuck off once he got a hold of her when she was foolish enough to show up at the hotel...

Before I get back to that, lemme tell you that Wyatt's ass confessed to the DA - (yeah he called her up and told her to come on over and she did) - he told ERR'THANG too while Jim and Kat sat inside and cut each other to pieces verbally - she said she was through with his ass, and will be getting a divorce....She was the one who told him that Wyatt was out in the driveway giving a confession.....

So anyway, back to David and Ronnie - the line of the night was "I'm A Simple Bitch"....David had already told her she was a "vindictive, simple bitch", and she went the fuck off and trashed the bar they were in - bar patrons scattered like "roarches" when she started flinging glasses and bottles all over the place....He asked her if she was doing crack and she said no, so it must be those pain pills she was taking that somehow I didn't know nothing about or missed some previous dialogues about it....(dammit)..

Anyway, the DA and a car full of cops showed up at Ronnie's pad and a search warrant - she tried it with the DA to no avail...Her shit got searched - they're looking for the car she hid or anything connected with it inside the house....She is pissed ROYALLY and thinks David was the one who called the DA but it was Wyatt - that's why she went to the hotel looking for David and he was looking for her - when she got there, she threw a drink in that white woman's mug who David almost screwed and it took Landon to keep the bitchfight from happening, cuz quite frankly I beleive some serious hair woulda also been flinged across the room like them glasses and bottles....

Menawhile, Hannah had that dude come over to her house so she could tell him that she didn't wanna date him cuz she don't wanna have sex - that is, until she finds a guy she wants to get married to....He took it pretty well, but I don't think this is over yet...Bennie ran his mouth again telling the guy he don't want him there anymore while Hannah just stands there and doesn't slap him 6 ways into the next coming of Christ....

Candy Cane bought up 2 high priced houses - 1 for herself and 1 for Benny from some realtor lady that kept asking her about her new car - is that the lady that Bennie bought that car from? Candy also know that Quincy is on the loose and has Jeffrey's phone (btw, Quincy told Ronnie that he was gonna rape her when he see her next time cuz she threatened to put his ass back in prison), so Candy's trying to GTFO of the hotel and go somewhere else....

If I remember some more, I'll come back but maybe somebody else can kick in some more deets for ya until then....

Oh yeah, Security DID show up and told Ronnie to leave - she dared them to touch her as usual...and yeah Kat knows about the 7.5 mil but she don't know what Jim did with it, and he wouldn't tell her....

What? No Oscar? I kept thinking for some reason he was the one that owned the two houses Candy was buying.

Security shows up after Ronnie tears up the lounge and only asks her to leave. No arrest. She just walks out free and clear.

Why wasn't Wyatt arrested on the spot after telling the whole story to the DA ? No, they just go over to Ronnie's house with a search warrant.

Somebody please refresh my memory, why is Quincy such a bad ass? Did Candy screw him over at one time, was the baby she had his baby? Oh yeah, remember the missing baby. Another story line dropped.

Next week is going to be good. Looks like Jeffrey grows some balls finally. Can't wait to see who he throws on the bed with his broken ribs and all. Looked like maybe it was Landon. Ohhhh Jeffrey's gonna get him some!  And Jim asking Wyatt if he is in love with Jeffrey. Now there's a twist!

Veronica went all Erica Kane in that scene. The resident Erica Kane might throw a hissy fit but push comes to shove, she won't go so far as to mess up her hair and makeup, or ruin her manicure.

Bennie ran his mouth again telling the guy he don't want him there anymore while Hannah just stands there and doesn't slap him 6 ways into the next coming of Christ....

FFS, Bennie needs to climb back out of Hannah's uterus. Her sex life--or lack thereof--is none of his business.

What? No Oscar? I kept thinking for some reason he was the one that owned the two houses Candy was buying.

Yep, I think it's pretty much guaranteed that Oscar is the seller of those houses. I bet he's going to be Candy's romantic interest next season. They'd make a gorgeous couple.

Next week is going to be good. Looks like Jeffrey grows some balls finally.

I have to give TP credit. This time last season I loathed Jeffrey but now he's like the one person on this show you really feel sorry for. Ugh, Veronica wanted to "beat the gay out of him"? Wonder if someone could beat the straight out of her?

There must be an amazing season-ending cliffhanger coming up. Jim's life is pretty much destroyed--or at least his political career is--and odds are someone's going to jail for the car wreck coverup. Hannah's will definitely go all high and mighty when she sees the house Candace bought for Benny, and Jeffrey might finally be about to exit the closet. I'm amazed this show actually got good enough to make me almost anxious for the next episode.

But you're right, the computer is a mode of communication. How WOULD a person use the laptop to get help immediately? I was assuming that David, Candace, and Landon have email and/or private social media accounts that Jeffrey could send messages to using a regular internet connection from a PC/laptop or tablet. It's also possible to send texts and make phone calls from certain Google applications over the internet but you pretty much have to have them already set up or be reasonably tech savvy to do it on the fly.

Thanks for the update.  Yes, Wyatt, SHOULD have been taken in. And there should have been more react and fall out right then at the hotel from Ronnie's vandalism.

As for Ronnie and the pills we never see her actually take any but a couple of episodes ago she came out of the Cryer house before she and David left for the night....so she was outside alone. And she was on the phone asking a doctor for a prescription in a real sob story sort of way....."Oh doctor so-and-so I know there's no prescription but this once could you help my friend (she might have even thrown out the name) she's so upset. I'm sure you understand. She just needs something to calm her down." yada yada yada.

Yes, it's remarkable Wyatt confessed to a felony and wasn't booked. The car stuff is a part of the coverup. He admitted the primary crime.

Other observations:

Amazing that Candi/Jeffrey has become the best relationship on the show. True friendship, and he gained serious street cred for taking the beating and not squealing.

David with the lines: "simple Bitch" and telling Ronnie she went from pain pills to pain in the ass. Heh.

Ronni with the neatest trashing of a bar yet. Bet she didn't break a nail. And still the worst Mom.

Only low-voltage thug Quincy could threaten to rape and murder people and it sounds like he's taking his dog to the park. No wonder nobody pays attention to this guy.

Hanna, Benny, house hunting ... zzzzzz.

Katherine and Jim. Good stuff. Especially Katherine. You can feel her pain, it's heartbreaking/

And final thought: I think we're getting a role reversal: Candi will be a Have, and Jim becomes a Have Not.

I would LOVE To know (I think)....if TP already knows where he ULTIMATELY wants to take this show/these characters....and how long he wants it to last.

I mean is this a 5 season/year show? and 10 year show? or a 40 year show like day time soaps have been. Although I know no NIGHTtime soap has ever lasted more than about a dozen years. AND those shows had a lot more money and creative writing talent than Mr. Tyler Perry.

Whomever comes up with the "next time" promos for this show is probably related to the guy who does the "next episode" promos for Telemundo's telenovelas, because they both have an annoying habit of giving away too much in them.  I hate that.

Anyway, having finally seen this week's episode: I'm heavily inclined to call this the best episode of the season in no small part because it focused mainly on the grown folks and, apart from Candace, the young'uns were predominantly just there to assist them.  Jim and Katheryn's mutual weary resignation to their and Wyatt's fates (hilariously punctuated by Wyatt's utterly confused "What just happened?" face when he smugly declared that he had confessed everything to the DA) was definitely the best thing it had going, and perhaps the one thing the show's been truly graceful about building up to.  Veronica and David's confrontation in the hotel bar...in and of itself it was fine, and David got just a little closer to that moment we're all waiting for, but it suffered retroactively thanks to that damn promo for next week's season finale.

Hanna pushing Michael away because of her God-fearing ways was about par for her, if a bit kludgy.  Benny still being all up in her shit about him, though?  He's the one who needs to go find somebody and screw their brains out (where's Darlene the nurse at?), or at least STFU until--I'm assuming--Candace gives him enough money to get in on that tow company buyout thing.

And then there was Candace...

Amazing that Candi/Jeffrey has become the best relationship on the show. True friendship, and he gained serious street cred for taking the beating and not squealing.

She and Jeffery have always been friends, if in no small part since he's apparently never seen her go full sociopath, and if it were any other character that Jeffery had stood up to Quincy the Terminator and took a beatdown for I'd love it.  But it's her, so it rubs me the wrong way.  She doesn't deserve a friend that loyal, IMO.  Add that to her buying the big white block house for Benny and Hanna (you know she did), and her ongoing fear of Quincy, and I can't help thinking the show's still trying to soften her sharp edges just a touch.  Or even just make her seem like the lesser of three evils, behind Jim and way behind Veronica.  It may well just be me, show, but I'm still not believing it.

Thanks for that info. I have to try to remember that most people are on social media, a lot. And I am not. I may visit message boards and forums but I don't do any kind of more personal social media like facebook, twitter, instagram. etc. I'm still not even sure how twitter works or what instagram is. I check email only once a day. and I do NOT text at all. So if you send me and EMERGENCY message by computer -- uh....maybe you'd better try to reach someone else:):) I readily admit I don't think high-tech so it wouldn't even occur to me to reach someone immediately through a computer.

2) As for Candace and Jeffery being "friends." I'm going to knit-pick a bit and say that among the younger set, they're the closest thing we've seen to friends. Candace may consider Jeffery a friend....but she said she was friends with Amanda, too. So uh, her definition of friends is a little 'skewed' shall we say? To this day I'm not sure if Kathryn and Veronica -- and Jim and David -- are "friends". I mean, they ACT like they are, but they don't trust each other. What kind of friendship is that for mature people of their age?

Edited by selhars

This show is oddly just like a daytime soap that way--while there are a couple of genuine, or mostly so, friendships on the show (Hanna and Katheryn, and Jim and David--if in a somewhat more macho way) they're buried under and are a distant second to everybody bitchfacing everybody else and/or pretending (Candace, Veronica, Celine, Melissa).  Or just lashing out (Wyatt).  And, combined with the super-serious tone of the show, it's just that much more damning.

Link to comment

If Twitter was any indication (I'll get to actually see it tomorrow), the season finale at least did two things right--however possibly transitory: Jeffery finally got something resembling a damn spine, and Quincy the Terminator finally got a beatdown (by Benny).  Conversely, though, Melissa apparently went full-bore desperate here...and it apparently ended on a more traditional smash-to-black cliffhanger than the previous season did--and that was after Veronica apparently macked hard on Benny.

Link to comment

I haven't decided WHAT grade to give this season finale -- in terms of grading it as a cliffhanger.

I'm actually looking forward to next season LESS than I was looking forward to last night's show.
Apparently I'll have to ponder it a bit more. As of right now it was sort of anti-climatic.

ETA: if Melissa is ALREADY pregnant by Jeffrey why was she trying so hard to get him in bed. She wouldn't need to do that if she were already pregnant -- with HIS baby anyway. That makes no sense.

First Hannah. Now we see Ronnie at home without 'the hair." I don't know what else to say about that.

And her come on to Benny? Give me a break.

IMO, this episode was actually not that great. SO benny gets arrested for beating up Quincy. Is QUINCY in jail. You'd THINK Benny would have said to the police "he beat my mom and shouldn't even be OUT of prison," and the cops would have at least checked Quincy out. But there I go thinking logically. I know the paper work MIGHT show he should be out. But again THAT entire plot was stupid -- because ONE LAWYER can't get ANYONE whose been CONVICTED out of prison. You need a judge AND a prosecutor to be involved. So unless she forged a whole lot of signatures....he shouldn't even be out.

I DO think David was dumb to go back home...he doesn't know YET... that the simple bitch is actually CRAZY! I guess setting him on fire is yet SOMETHING ELSE he didn't THINK she'd do.

Again, overall...a great disappointment.

Oh yeah, Jim's "I'm tired" speech.....yeah right (eye roll) Although I did find the honest with Wyatt "interesting."

Selhars, I'm with you on the Melissa thing. Her desperation was so annoying, and of course made no sense.

Veronica, drunk as hell, crazy simple bitch but she cared enough to go put her wig back on and get Benny, who she hardly knows, out of jail.

Sloppy job, Tyler Perry, of trying to tie up the storylines. Do we even have any idea what Oscar was all about?  Best part for me was Kathryn admitting to her own affairs, and Jeffrey finally getting some!.

Lemme see....Ronnie said something about "making sure" when knowing that Mel was already preggers....that's why the pathetic skag wanted to get Jeff into the bed again......I was surpirsed that she got Bennie outta jail knowing how she feels about Hannah...Does she know that Candy Cane is his sister though?

Shit, THAT was the season finale? Didn't seem like it.....and the Burning Bed thing is sooooo 70's....Jeez..

Isn't Oscar the one who owns houses that Candy bought?

Oh well, at least Jeffrey grew a pair and Wyatt's gonna be missing a pair once he gets to the Big House....

Link to comment

Heh, Veronica had her own no wig, no makeup, catatonic Annalise Keating moment. Seems like all the Black TV drama actresses are doing that now. Viola Davis started a trend.

Yay, Jeff and Landon!

How did Veronica bail Benny out of jail without knowing that he beat up Quincy? I'm assuming she didn't know because I can't see her getting further mixed up in it since Quincy can rat her out.  And speaking of Quincy, Savannah's not that big so I can't believe he wasn't able to find Candy.

Jim's "scared straight" approach with Wyatt was silly. How about they stop treating him like a little kid? Is Wyatt ever allowed do to anything except lay around the house? No wonder he's bitter and lazy. A stint in prison might do him some good. Seriously though, I still don't get why Jim and Katheryn haven't already shipped Wyatt out of the country, to a place which has no extradition treaty with the U.S. Isn't that what people like them usually do when their spoiled kids get in big trouble?

Veronica apparently macked hard on Benny.

Oh, is that what the kids call bj's now? Macking hard? Whatever, it's not believable to me that she'd be so shattered by David's almost affair with Maggie that she'd fellate Benny in a public place. And then turn around and give Benny her car! WTF?

That makes no sense.

I agree This new troubled Melissa storyline started trying to build into something too late in the season. I couldn't care less about her, especially if she's going to claim to be pregnant with a gay man's kid in order to get him to marry her. She's a cute girl and seems intelligent. Unless Veronica's blackmailing her, I can't see why she'd need to be so desperate.

Isn't Oscar the one who owns houses that Candy bought?

That isn't known yet but plenty of us are thinking that yes, he's the owner. He's probably going to be her new boyfriend too.

Ditto the comments upthread, TP left several cliffhangers but most of them were kind of weak. The only one that I'll be waiting see is whether David really does get burnt up in his own bed. (Assuming the actor doesn't get another gig or contract renegotiations go bad, I imagine he'll wake up just in time to escape.) I'm betting Ronnie's going to try to have Jeff killed too now that he's dared to defy her.

Does she know that Candy Cane is his sister though?

If I recall..... Yes, because she knows Hannah is Candace's mom and Hannah is Benny's mom. She's knew Benny's was Hannah's son from when she got him off from David's botched frame of Candace. SHE is the one who said to Hannah you go tell her Candace is your daughter, or I will. Again that goes back to David's botched frame up. That was the reason Hannah told Kathryn in the first place.

^^ Thank you!

Because Tyler Perry is a terrible writer, and not a good 'concept' person.

Unless Veronica's blackmailing her, I can't see why she'd need to be so desperate.

I think Veronica is paying for the medicare care of that person at whose bedside Melissa was sitting a couple of episodes ago....A man in a coma?

I did wonder about that and anything can happen in TP-land. But Veronica poured the gasoline around his bed, so he SHOULD be encircled by fire. Doesn't mean he can't get out, but..... Technically she didn't pour is ALL around the bed and close a circle, but definitely from the door to around the bed.

IF Oscar is the one 'selling the houses she's buying...technically she would know that because it's IN the paperwork the realtor has. But watch TP pull some crap and they don't find out that each one is on the other side of the transaction until they're at the settlement table. AND...if he;s THAT big...HE wouldn't be at the settlement table his lawyer would be. Because technically YOU don't have to be at the closing. ANd I'm sure someone of that caliber wouldn't be at their own closing...please, TP, come on.

ALSO, the actress who played the realtor, with the British accent. She was a cast member playing her self Kari Wells, on the Bravo reality show "Married to Medicine' about doctors and their wives. Her husband is a surgeon. Now she's on this as an actress.....

Yes! That was so freakin random, wasn't it? She never indicated on MTM that she was/wanted to be/ an actress.

Kari was admittedly rocking that accent and a tight blouse.  That's about as far as my interest in her went.

And now that I've actually seen the finale I think I've got to give TP some props.  This was hands down the soapiest episode of the series to date, even if--yup, once again, like Passions--it didn't tie everything up or even close.  The whole whiskey confessional with Jim, Katheryn, and Wyatt was a thing of twisted beauty...even if Katheryn had to go full cliche and reveal she had an affair with her tennis instructor (seriously, that's Lifetime TV-movie territory right there).  Melissa being outed as Veronica's minion, if not exactly why, came off merely okay--if admittedly filtered through her still-unexplained desperation; I think we're all expecting her to be in debt to the Queen Bitch for that mystery man's medical care.  Jeffery chewed copious amounts of scenery when he finally went off on dear old Mom.  There was relatively little Candace.  And drunken and insane Veronica (sans wig) finally got into proper soap villainness mode, which was delightful.

Oh, is that what the kids call bj's now? Macking hard? Whatever, it's not believable to me that she'd be so shattered by David's almost affair with Maggie that she'd fellate Benny in a public place. And then turn around and give Benny her car! WTF?

I didn't want to just say "Damn, she actually gave him road head?!?", Joimiaroxeu.  :)  One conspiracy theory I've seen about the Escalade she gave Benny, though, is that it was David's car (if memory serves, they have at least two vehicles that we've seen...and Veronica usually drives a coupe)--and it's all part of some super-batshit crazy plan to kill David and pin it all on Benny.  She's insane, after all, but she's not stupid...

I thought that who she was! Thanks for confirming it.

So Jeffery channeled Jamal Lyon and FINALLY stood up to Veronica---that was a long time coming.  It's about time he and Landon hooked up; they make such a gorgeous couple, plus it's a good excuse to see more of Landon--ashy lips and all. This may sound crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised if Wyatt comes out the closet.

I didn't expect Veronica to seduce Benny. That should be an interesting story line--my question, though is what happened to the Candace's son after the confrontation between he and Quincy? They never mentioned him after he and Quincy left Hannah's.

I hope David returns next season. He was messy at times, but he was my favorite character on the show. He seems to be the calming force among the chaos. Plus, I love how he defends Jeffery against Veronica.

I have concluded that TP needs to stick to making Madea movies which I think are hilarious and forget the TV scripts. I don't care if Oprah thinks he's the King of America and is saving her network, he sucks at it.

It just rains cars in Bennyland huh? McKay.

I'm seeing that TP and I have very similar viewing patterns and I can pick which movie he stole almost every random scene in his shows.

Didn't we do the car crash/ Beatdown in Daddy's Little Girls? Which by the way was borrowed from MeteorMan.

Annalise already took her wig off. Shock value is gone from that.

Farrah Fawcet OWNS burning a bed.

Have an original thought or hire more writers or just wrap it up. Something.

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Look at Candace and Jeffrey just throwing away fine men left and right.

So they're going all in on turning Veronica into the show's psycho villain. I like it.

$5,000 bail? For a newly released convict? What a joke. You'd think he'd be getting an express trip back to the penitentiary.

Unless Savannah has the worst fire chief ever, it should be pretty clear that what happened at the Harrington mansion was arson. Ronnie poured gasoline all around the bed. The evidence of that has got to look deliberate.

Ruh, roh. Celine's going all fatal attraction. Better get a restraining order, Jim. And change the locks.

Lawd help me, I'm actually glad this show is back.

Veronica is overboard now. Initially, she was fun as this formidable take no prisoners bitch, but now she's just crazy, the kind of crazy that belongs in an insane asylum. I'd like to believe that Candace's new guy is legit because he's cute and a potential good match for her, but I don't trust this show, and I already fear that he's probably up to something. As for Jeffrey and Wyatt? It's time to poop or get off the pot. Their connection is nothing but a twisted tease. Wyatt allegedly hates Jeffrey because Jeffrey is in love with him, but Wyatt can't stay away from him or out of his business. It isn't helping matters that Jeffrey STILL hasn't gotten over him.

Yeah, that's what I thought before the mid-season break, that maybe he and Landon were in cahoots to pull something over on Candace. After the new episode though, I'm not so sure and am reserving judgment. It appears though that Candy's going to be getting some "sexual healing" courtesy of Oscar. What I don't get is why he woke up naked if all he did was hold and comfort her all night. When she fell into his arms crying the night before he was fully dressed. It makes sense to me that she didn't know what to make of that. Oscar has some weird boundaries, LOL.

Ahhhh....the infamous go to dialogue for this show:

Jim- Celine, get out of my house.

Celine- No, I won't.

Wyatt- You heard him, get out!

Celine-No. Jim look at me.

Jim- I told you to leave.

Celine- I won't leave.

And on and on it goes....until Jim beats the crap out of his son, of course.

David, grow some balls. He was telling Veronica right after she tried to burn him to death that he still loves her. Now I want to kill him myself. And to think he was always my favorite.

Jeffrey and Wyatt. So Jeffrey has some hot long overdue sex with a hot guy and still has puppy dog eyes for Wyatt. Please. I want to throw up.

In what universe does Candace deserve a decent guy? She is 100% evil. This has got to blow up in her face.

Last but not least: Veronica and Benny. It's so rediculous, I can't even.

I really do have a love/hate relationship with this show! I cannot stand Veronica... She is a simple bitch and David deserves soooooooo much better!! He's better go bang Maggie soon. He's being accused of it- hell he almost died because she thinks that's what's going on. May as well go & do it! I'm VERY anxious to see what happens when David walks in on Veronica & Benny. (Maybe Benny isn't OK after Wyatt hit him. He can't be OK if he's doing the things he's doing with Veronica. She's nasty!)

Also, how is it going to take for those idiots to call the fire an arson?? It's not gonna matter- she'll probably get out of it somehow.

I really thought Jeffery & Landon were gonna be together. Guess not. I don't get why Jeffery doesn't stay away from Wyatt. Wyatt treats him like shit.

I'm anxious to see why Benny bails out Quincy too.

I don't like Candace either. But I like this new guy in her life. He is someone that she needs. Someone she can trust- who will take care of her & not use her. If only she would give him a chance....

Lastly, even though Hannah knows Wyatt hit Benny, I'm MOST excited to see how she reacts when he tells her that he did it.

Now that I've seen what OWN called the season opener, but everything else seems to call the midseason premiere: points for either actually torching a house or a good-sized facade.  And whomever edited and scored the scene where Jim flipped out and beat down Asshole Wyatt (I suspect that name will stick for a while) needed to be frigging smacked.  The snap-zooms were bad enough, but adding the Inception-lite WOMMMP BGM just blew whatever seriousness it had to bits.

That aside? I'm still over Candace, though I can kind of appreciate the show's slow-burn attempt to...if not reform her, then perhaps "save" her (kind of like what they're doing with Jim) via Hanna, and her big-headed kid, and possibly Oscar. And it dovetailed perfectly here with Veronica's increasingly villana de telenovelas queen-bitch behavior, which admittedly brings up the doozy: Veronica straight up admitted she set the fire to kill David, pretty much admitted she was going to cheat (again) on David, and he's still deadset on basically saving her from herself.  On one hand this is bloody admirable, and Peter Parros and Angela Robinson make it work.  On the other, it's frustrating as hell because Veronica right now is the Teflon Doña--skating on everything, like Candace before her--and the need to see her suffer some sort of karma recycling, even with the mitigating factor that bitch crazy, is even stronger than with Candace because it drags two of the most basically good people on the damn show along with her.  I think I'd settle...reluctantly...for David just smacking the taste out of her mouth, but I'm honestly not sure if the show would even consider going there.

Jeffery once again using somebody as a sexual surrogate for his boo Wyatt was...not surprising, in retrospect, but kind of sad in its consistency.  Then again, considering Asshole Wyatt right now, he may finally have the chance to get over him...or be the one to drag him back to sanity.  Even odds.

Benny the meathead wanting to bail Quincy out in order to get Candace's son back...up until the snap-zooms, this was the dumbest part of the entire episode.  And that includes Celine begging Jim to "come back" to her.

The really funny thing?  I kind of missed this fucked-up show...

I'm reminded of how crazed Veronica has now threatened Wyatt. Veronica must REALLY be crazy because Jeffrey surely won't be standing for her hurting the man that he loves. I can see Jeffrey unleashing his own brand of crazy to stop Veronica dead in her tracks.

I missed the entire premiere, I thought the new season started this week,

Anyway, I may be done -- I KNOW I'm done -- with watching entire episodes of this show. I'm a "Real Housewives of NY" Watcher and THAHNs is up against that show. So I'll likely do what I did last night. Watch THAHNs while RHWONY is on a commercial break. For me that's enough of TP's mess to get the idea of what's happening. And that's more than enough for me.

Scenes I saw:

-- Candace showing up at the funeral, with Hannah, Jeffrey and Wyatt all telling her she shouldn't be there, JIm ignoring her -- and Kathryn inviting her to the house

-- Veronica and David at the house after Melissa showed and V asking D, "the fire wasn't enough? go away."

-- David talking to Maggie and Maggie NOT telling him about Veronica and Benny in the truck

-- Wyatt and Jeff in the kitchen.....uh, if Wyatt is sooo disgusted by Jeff why ASK HIM ABOUT him and Landon in bed?

I guess those were the scenes I caught on commercial from RHWONY, Nothing  to make me want to lose an entire hour of my life watching it.

Popping in on the show, and following comments here ,will be more than enough. The show doesn't deserve my full-time viewership.

All I know is I simply LOVED the part where Katherine clocked Candy upside her head and she didn't see it comin'...I laughed my ass off.....

She shoulda done the same thing to Wyatt's raggedy drunk ass....

Knew Mel was gonna wind up preggers - still don't think it's true though.....

That mansion fire is taking too dam long to figure out the cause when it's all so very evident......

Celine needs to contact Merry Maids.....she about to seriously cray-cray on outta here......

Oh FFS, Celine has her own apartment set now? What does it take to get rid of that psycho? Her son can stay though. ¡Muy caliente!

I'm liking this new harder-edged Jeffrey. Maybe all he needed was a good screw with a hot man. Veronica's on the verge of looking like a cartoon villain, however.

Maggie's not as smart as she thinks she is. She should have shown those photos to David, or even better, to Veronica. Guess she values her career as a political consultant more than all else.

I'm glad Melissa finally told the truth about what Ronnie's been putting her and her family through. Maybe loan shark Veronica's the one in need of a beatdown.

Lol at Katheryn going all gangsta on Candace.

It would be nice if there was at least one happy couple on this show. Seems like everyone is miserable to varying degrees. Daytime soaps always have a romantic pairing to root for, even when they're momentarily not together. Not sure who that would be on this show. Yo, TP, can you fix that?
