  1. I'm feeling old today because I had to lookup when exactly Mike had his Miz meltdown because he looked so young in the clip. It was 15 years ago! I've been watching this show for 15 years?! And yet as MTV keeps making it, I'll probably keep watching it.
  2. Miz was definitely the best part of the reunion. I also love that someone shouted out "Coral!" before the surprise guest announcement. I kept thinking that Cara Maria/Laurel, Camilla/Amanda and Nelson/Cory were getting obnoxious with each other so as to have a good set up for a Rivals season.
  3. I think 7 was Mark Harmon's number at UCLA, so it could be an inside joke of some sort. I still remember freaking out at the end of the final episode of Season 1 of The West Wing. That was a cliffhanger. This was "eh, the team's in trouble? It must be a Tuesday in May."
  4. I thought the opposite, as Mary appeared to have a significant baby bump by the end of the episode. But I still wonder how they are going to fit in all of Mary's story plus the France shenanigans before the season ends.
  5. The most subtle part of that scene was the actual crickets chirping in the background during Johnny's blank stare at CT. The editors didn't even need to overlay a sound effect. It was just so perfect. CT is pretty much my favorite this season. And where in Sam Hill were the producer & security hiding that they were able to get in between Laurel and Amanda so quickly?
  6. I can handwave a lot on TV these days, but wouldn't there be some decompression issues caused by that gunfight in the cargo hold? And how did no one get hit by ricocheting bullets off of the metal?
  7. Heh. After some of the stuff that Mac and Harm put Chegwidden through over the years, a murder trial would be a walk in the park for the ex-Admiral. Speaking of Chegwidden, none of the Scooby-gang other than Eric know he's been around, right?
  8. There was also a weird moment at the start of the show where Katie cracked "I love your lipstick, Sunny." Now, it was a nice dark maroony-wine color lipstick that actually looked really nice on Sunny, but the comment was definitely some subtle shade.
  9. Jeff's pierogi skillet on today's episode looked really tasty. But I think I would have used a potato pierogi rather than cheese, just to keep the corned beef, cabbage & tater theme going. I hate sounding like a pierogi snob, but I would only use the frozen kind for that sort of meal. Fresh pierogi lightly crisped in butter are tasty enough; no need to improve on that.
  10. Love the idea of the pizza rolls, but Ree's were just TOO MUCH. I'd eliminate the string cheese and the pesto and wouldn't use the oil on the dough. When she pulled the rolls out of the pan, they were falling apart and sitting in grease, making them look really unappetizing. Nothing wrong with just using the mozzarella, pepperoni, peppers and olives. Supreme pizzas work for a reason!
  11. Beer (which looked a lot like Corona), tomato paste, worsterchestershire. Then doused with beef broth. I was ok with her lemon parsley noodles, but I thought those flavors would compete with the flavors of the pot roast and lead to a pile of yuck.
  12. He's probably also going to be making friends with Ralph if he's running and footballing in the hot sun after eating all of that, ifyouknowwhatImean. There's a reason why most athletes have some lean protein and some complex carbs before sports-ing.
  13. I was practically yelling at the TV for Dale's Protege to crumble up the angel wings (also known as chrusciki to us Polish folk) and put them into the crumble topping. Less chance of burning that way and you wouldn't need to add as much sugar to the crumble topping. Also, angel wings can contain whiskey in the batter, so that was a really nice tie in to the episode's theme. And now I really want some chrusciki.
  14. OMG, I watch RHoNY and I didn't realize this was Carole's Adam until I came here. He's just that memorable.
  15. I wonder if he won because he didn't just glue stuff onto a muslin base? Even though he clearly was glueing the palm fronds, he used an unconventional material as his base rather than the supplied muslin. That might count for 'more' with the judges. I wouldn't have given him the win simply because he did nothing with the back of the dress. All the detail work was on the front. Cartier's dress was more of a complete look and should have won for that alone. These kids didn't know Gilligan's Island but knew Tina Turner? That's blowing my mind.
  16. Phew, I thought I was seeing things when Jeff was slicing his chicken because I saw undercooked while all the hosts were crowing about how tender & perfect it was. The recipe says to cook the chicken for 50 minutes at 400. Ina uses 425 for 90 minutes for her perfect roast chicken. I wonder if a longer cooking time would have helped Jeff's bird? I'm really intrigued by the bundt pan idea because I hate how liquidy roasted chicken can sometimes get so I wanted to see this one succeed.
  17. Agreed. If I'm going to go to the expense of buying cheese, crackers, pepperoni and other things, I'm going to put them out so my guests can enjoy them without having to pry them off cheese ball blocks and make a mess. I fast forwarded thru the Crate and Barrel advertorial. My family uses paper plates and a disposable tablecloth. Grandma has 20+ of us for dinner, so the easier the cleanup, the better. She's 80 and doesn't have time to wash 20 people's worth of dishes, bowls, chargers and silverware. The pots and pans to feed us are enough!
  18. Not to mention that this vegetarian option now needs to be labeled as 'shellfish-containing' for those of us in the room with a shellfish allergy. I'm not one for passing out and needing a paramedic because I eat an allegedly vegetarian meatball! This show really needs to work on the subtlety of their product placements. On a show called "The Kitchen", I wouldn't mind if you waxed poetic about your Le Crueset pot, but going on and on about 3M Command Adhesive hangers is a different story.
  19. Small voice: the ham salad looked good and something I would probably consider making if I had leftover deli ham, but I would pass on the twee cheese slices, olives and the endive. If I was Ree, I would have some words with whomever selected her tops from today's episode. The red one made her look heavier than she is (and shes' not a heavy woman!) because of all the flowy fabric. And the blue one had lacy embellishments right over her boobs. Her boobs had eyes!
  20. Did anyone else catch the subtle-as-a-brick-to-the-head product placement of the Ninja blender during GZ's and Katie Lee's smoothie segment? They were so careful to mention that you need a powerful blender when mixing up whole nuts and dates, followed by the shot of KL lovingly pushing the Ninja's buttons to pulverize those beautiful nuts and fruit.
  21. Right. His racing season is over, but he may still have the occasional test and/or sponsorship commitments that he needs to fulfill. However, a test is waaay different than a race. A test session is a day or so while a race is 3 days of on-and-off-track activity.
  22. I'm not sure where Sharna was heading when she had her issues with the TSA, but on Thursday, James was testing his Indycar outside St. Louis, so it's entirely possible they were missing a day or two of rehearsal anyway. You want to read an inspiring story about a racer coming back from a traumatic injury, google Alex Zanardi. His story is truly inspirational. Just a warning that the video of his wreck makes Hinch's look like he stubbed his toe.
  23. So we can have the moment where the parrot does a wolf whistle when Gibbs walks into the lab for the first time. I had to rewind and make sure I wasn't hearing things. It's the little things that keep me happy. Speaking of Gibbs, I was so distracted by that plaid shirt he was wearing during his Odd Couple moments with Fornell. I think I have a tablecloth that's close to that plaid.
  24. Noureen (not Maureen, lol) is an actress who is married to Ryan Miller, goalie for the NHL's Vancouver Canucks. I kind of wish that Genaro had hung around for a bit longer. His laid back attitude would have driven the rest of the men's team nuts.
  25. I thought the idea of adding peas and/or corn to tuna was interesting and something I might do to my next batch of tuna pasta salad, but definitely would not put a tuna mix into a chile. However, GZ's quickie oven stir fry looked like a good recipe and something that would actually work. But I would definitely want some sauce and/or some rice on the side.
