The wife said the roses were an ongoing thing. I guess he did have it bad for the kid because I still can't see him as the rose buying type. You guys have convinced me.

OK, I guess that has to be true but it seems totally unrealistic to me. As bombastic as senior is, buying roses for some kid seems way out of character.

I was confused by the senior Fitzroy plot. I must have missed something. Why was he buying red roses for the Russian kid?

I really enjoyed this episode. Clarence is a wonderful actor. He has the best facial expressions! I thought for a minute Eliza was going to reconsider letting Nash have the brother so that Nash could stay. I hope they bring Nash back someday.

I think Oskar does like Therese but the main draw for him seemed to be Hannah. Didn't he lose a daughter?

I agree with all of the above, and just wanted to mention that I loved the going out to dinner outfit that Eliza wore. The dress was beautiful, but so was the coat that went over it. Kudos to the wardrobe dept. No wonder Blake noticed!

I felt like this was a filler episode with Oskar running all over the place. They still have Therese looking shady, but it might be a deliberate misdirection. Is next week the final? They will have a lot of cleaning up to do. I'm not sure exactly why, but I was disappointed in this episode.

In thinking over the Therese/Oskar sequence, something seemed off about it. I have not seen any future episodes. Maybe I'm being too cynical, or I've seen too much television, but I hope Therese is not playing Oskar.

I love the Eliza and Nash interactions. I'm glad they're friends as they seem more like equals than anyone else on the show with her. I do like the new police commissioner.

I'm guessing Therese's husband will end up dead and Oskar will be blamed, since the neighbor saw him going in. That underground cavern must induce hallucinations. If Oskar had really shot Max the way it looked, Max would be dead. It was a very mesmerizing sequence. Really well done. I agree Max seemed to have chemistry with the casino lady but I'm sure he'll end up with Clara. I'm glad Clara is not making it easy though.

I have to second all the love for the archivist. She's terrific. I don't think things are over for Theresa and Oskar (at least I hope not). They clearly still have feelings for each other and her lout of a husband is standing in the way. He looks like a violent sort. I've only seen this first episode so have no knowledge of anything happening later. If there are to be no more seasons, I hope Oskar and Theresa are not left as a cliffhanger.

I thought this story line was pretty interesting and tragic. A lot of red herrings. That woman was a piece of work. Although her therapist really took advantage of her. The poor husband. And I wonder what will happen to her baby now that she's going to jail. The father doesn't want it. Maybe he will be made to pay, though. Would the husband take it? I'm overthinking it, of course. Yes, I did wonder how Ridley could afford to give Darren cash (for his gambling addiction?) and he didn't have enough money to bail out the club.

I like the show and hope it continues. I like the characters, but the last two parter was just not that interesting. And if they are heading for a Piet baby daddy story line (and it seems like they are) I will not be happy. Nor would I be happy if Lena became pregnant. Please show, don't go there.

Gosh, I liked Ridley's singing in this one. I hated the Jack storyline. Apparently there is another two-parter. I thought the season was over.

I don't know. Except for the Hendrik storyline, I found this two-parter pretty boring. And what's with all the screen time for the ex?

I felt bad for the CI. Her boyfriend is a lowlife and I guess she thought she could redeem him somehow. At least he didn't kill her. Ryan's mother, on the other hand, is not only a lowlife but a murderer. She killed her own son because "he deserved it." (?) Maybe I'm too naive, but I found that plot twist a little hard to believe. I'm drawn to keep watching, but I get that people have problems with the show. Something is just lacking.

Wow. There was a lot of corruption in that scheme. It seems like only the low level people ever pay for their crimes. It never gets to the real perpetrators. Lev is a very complex character. I was amazed at how even keeled Svetlana seemed through the whole thing. It was interesting making her the narrator. I thought it was very well done. I also enjoyed the Lev/Svetlana interview afterwards with Ali Velshi.

I was hoping Sam would turn out to be the killer. Maybe Caroline is just taking the fall for him? He seems to have some people completely under his control. Which is hard for me to understand, since he gives off such creepy vibes.

I'm glad they finally showed Rachita laughing.

For whatever reason I found her more likeable in this episode. I'm glad she's hanging tough. It's really hard to function when your superiors are the bad guys. I hope this ends with a good resolution for her.

@possibilities I'm glad you commented because we have no episode 4 thread. I agree with everything. I also sympathize with her, but I wish her portrayal of the character would be a little more likeable. I find her consistently dour expression kind of off putting. Maybe it's the way this character is written. I have not seen her in anything else so I can't tell if that's her normal demeanor.

I don't think I liked Matt Jackson during his original run, but he's been very nice during this tournament. And he really won me over when he said he would not steal Sam's line. Congrats to Victoria. The game tomorrow will be interesting. Looks like it will come down to who gets the daily doubles.
