  1. Worse, while I'm okay with most of the newer characters (Gary needs to be toned down, if not outright murdered), I don't think they could carry the weight of the remaining original characters. If LoT were to end and replaced with a solo series on Sara, I'd be open for it. I dunno . . . get her to tour the Arrowverse, one city at a time. I'm good with Nate, but I think he's at his best when he's with Ray and they try to outdork each other. They are to LoT what Blue Beetle and Booster Gold were to the relaunched Justice League in the Eighties. Separately, they're tolerable; together, the chaos multiplies exponentially.

Great jab at the Marlins from The Onion.
  3. Ah. I thought it was instantaneous. Also: I thought that the other side of the U.S. would be China. Is that a myth?
  4. In my eyes? "Anytime Jesse tries to help someone this season, they done get killed." Feuding guys? Both dead, and their camels to boot. Child that's in a house of omega pervs? Shot and killed by a stray bullet. Pilot who would probably not help Jesse if not for The Voice? Legs burnt to a crisp, hand bitten off by a shark while not knowing it happened, dead. I'm not getting Actual Jesus being here. If he's here, then why Humperdoo? He meets Tulip, and I wait for the pissing that doesn't come. Well put. 😜 Reasons! Or maybe writing inconsistencies. That was funny and awesome. And then Eugene comes out of the hole, all, "Okay, fine, let's go with this." Is it odd that it was daytime on both sides of the world?
  5. Yeah . . . but Gaara. I mean, the Kazikage is more chill than when we were introduced to him at the Chunin Exams, but Kabuto almost crushing a guy didn’t come close to anything Gaara did back then.

I saw Cleveland go up in the tenth, then I wound up turning away and taking care of a few things. I’m thinking maybe that was for the best. I also think “We’ll Take It!” is the Mets’ unofficial motto. “We tie the game because nobody covered first base on a potential double play? We’ll take it!” Apologies for not being observant . . . is ripping off a walk-off hero’s jersey now a thing in MLB? Just the Mets?
  7. I don't think Natalie Duran deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence as that lot. At ChallengeMania, Paulie was taking the high ground against Bear. You know, I can understand Paulie's drive and disgust towards the less savory Challengers . . . but he's still Paulie. The guy's got an ego on him, and having CM rub up on him doesn't make him any more bearable. (Note: I'm assuming Paulie and CM do stuff to each other equally. Like that time in RR: The Quest, where Steve interviewed being disgusted by Adam and Ellen giving each other oral sex. I didn't need that image, and I got tired of CMP (PCM?) planning on duct-taping Kyle to a wall and banging while his eyelids are forced open)
  8. And now there's a Tegridy Weed website.
  9. Apparently, there isn't a thread covering the original stop-motion animated series from Crackle. And I wouldn't be starting this, but Adult Swim (which has aired the first two seasons) has put the show in its Monday-Thursday midnight slot. I just wanted to put it out there. 🤷‍♂️
  10. Well, I found out why the anime was shoved into the back of the Toonami block. Turns out Saturday night's episode was the last one. The fourth season starts on October 12 over in Japan. It will probably be shown via subscription in the U.S., but I don't know when it'll come to Toonami. MHA will now be run at 4 a.m. (Dr. Stone got added), and it will start on "Shiketsu High Lurking." As for the episode? The Big Three make their appearance, but the one making the biggest impression is Mirio Togata He's the blonde, simple-looking guy who demonstrates his Permeation Quirk by wiping the floor with eighteen Class 1-A students (Todoroki declines to participate because he didn't get a license, Bakugo is still under house arrest). And the guy looked cheerful as he gut-punched each and every student. To me, Mirio is basically a few steps ahead of Midoriya. See, while Mirio was born with his Quirk, he couldn't make proper use of it. He solved that through the Might Guy School Of Hard Knocks. Basically, training until he became the best, even if he's rendered blind and deaf phasing into the ground. Or losing his outfit because he phases through it. Kitty Pryde never had those problems. And he thinks and strategizes all the time. I wonder if he mutters to himself like Midoriya. Oh, and the villains are gearing up for the next season. Here's the dubbed trailer: And here's an AMV merging MHA with Terry Crews' Old Spice commercials. (Here's a shorter version) . . . and here's my first villain sketch, received at Liberty City Anime a few weeks ago.
  11. I'm okay with it . . though I'm expecting a lot of whiplash with fights between ninjas and their dead comrades. Also: if you turn Sai's brother into a bomb, he is going to be really pissed off about it.
  12. Anyone else watching? Also, which Adult Swim series has had the most overall episodes? Squidbillies is now in its twelfth season, so it has to rank near the top. Latest episode was 30 minutes, with Early and Tammi (Rusty's half-sister/baby mama) forming a music act, with lots of "Outlaw" singers thrown in. I still hear Early in one of Tammi's first appearances, shouting something along the lines of "Why are you with the Sequel when you can get with the Prequel?!? The Prequel is unequal!!!"
  13. That was my point . . . that I couldn't see ANY way that tweet could be okay for Sarah. Unless she lost a bet. My point, as always:"Fuck Johnny." I wound up going to the ChallengeMania event last Saturday, and Cara Maria and Paulie had talked shit about Johnny, including him having bots to respond to pictures that have his hashtag. I think the bottom line is that Johnny might not have any allies left. Well, probably Leroy. I had gotten a ticket for the event, but I wanted to back out because I didn't want to see those two bang on stage. But then Ruthie was added, and I decided to go. If y'all ask, I could post about it on my blog. Seriously, I need motivation to write these days.
  14. 1. I'm confused. Do we get one hundred ninjas running in Las Vegas? How does that break down per region? I'm thinking maybe wild cards might have to come back, albeit based on merit and degree of course difficulty. 2. NBC promos are hyping the Finals, telling us one ninja will win $1 million. I think it's not only a matter of guessing which one, but also if any of them have to use a Safety Pass, and whether that would taint their win.
  15. And it got WWWA. Of course. No chance the Towers of Power will face off at the Power Tower, but the concept is funny. ETA: I’m running behind. Hershey is a cute doggy, but I don’t think she was thrilled to be there.
  16. Michelle Warnky just completed the regional finals course. Discuss. Brandon Mears also cleared the course, but I don’t think Matt and Akbar needed to get hosed off after his run. 😜
  17. "Eye-boo-fuckin'-profren" for the win. And Wanda Sykes got that after a double mastectomy. All jokes aside . . . DAMN. Why does John take shots at "Corporate Daddy"? I never got that bit.
  18. Yet another anime makes the lineup. I got the first manga volume from the library, so this should be interesting. And we’ll probably get a teaser trailer tomorrow night.
  19. I read the first two volumes from my library system. In fact, I saw this guy cosplaying one of the main characters at an anime con last weekend.
  20. He's gotta stay on-brand. Even if he and Sarah squashed beef, even if she's perfectly okay with those . . . . fuck, even if she thought of that line and gave it to Johnny? It's still not right. Often, there are times where I say that a given Challenge is cruising for a beating. Johnny qualifies. One day, he might say or post something that will get his ass beat up.

Looked at the box score. Jeez, it's like the bullpen suddenly remembered their function is to blow games. I'm glad I wasn't watching. When the bullpen can't poke Mets fans in the eye, ESPN is happy to pick up the slack.

Come now. Gleyber just homered, and now the Yankees are only down by 14 runs! Let’s see John Sterling hype that! Sorry, @mojoween. You post something like that, I immediately check YES.
