  1. Oh, I wish I had known it was on. Truth be told, in the lean years I've re-gifted things. If I thought someone would like something I got for free. I would probably just give it to them, but if times were tight.... Also, what is the etiquette when you give someone a present you really like but know they don't use it. Is it OK to ask for it back?? I think I know the answer but I realllly liked the present.!
  2. i'm with you Leighroda, I like hearing cost cutting measures as well. It is good for my pocketbook and the environment. These people fall in the penny wise, pound foolish category, in that how much are you really saving??
  3. Suz, he was a creep. When he kept saying " they only played doctor." I wanted to smash his face in. I felt bad for his wife. Anyhow, here's hoping 2015 is a great year. Better than 2014 which kind of sucked for me.
  4. Did anyone watch Murder Book, about the couple from Michigan. Really, fucked up case. The wife's brother killed them. He was a controlling asshole, who may never have been caught. Just really surprised that the cops don't check some of these suspects' alibis. I know he was not on their radar, but would you take the word of a mother, spouse, girlfriend or sibling at face value? I would not , especially after watching all of these crime shows. What happened to an air-tight alibi?
  5. I agree a lot with you, Blue. I am going to miss this cute, fun little show. I am racking my brains to come up with a comparison to it. I thought it was not as OTT as Suburgatory. It is head and shoulders above any CBS comedy, which are so broad and crude. Selfie wasn't always patting itself on the back as we have seen with some of the NBC comedies. It was unique, a mash-up of a Rom-Com and workplace sitcom with some silliness and really true emotions. I actually laughed and cried. It could be very subtle-especially the romantic parts. yet, a wacky workplace environment. Jazz meetings, mandatory karioke and an office full of goofy, relatable people. I will miss it. I have never felt this way about a cancelled show. RIP, Selfie.
  6. I am always amazed at the cops on some of these shows. Sometimes it takes years to solve because someone did not check an alibi or run DNA or checked out a lead.. Then someone looks through the file years later and solves the case. So sloppy. I know it is hard to be a cop. Murder Comes To Town was oK last night, but it was obvious the two guys were the killers. It was such a close knit community couldn't someone have found out or maybe heard something about a feud between the families. I am done criticizing the police, but Suz I understand what you mean, I get so frustrated at times.
  7. I take that as a compliment, jenkait
  8. That actually sounds yummy. Of course I love the baked dessert and all kinds of nuts. Walnuts are my fave. So, I also like Walnut Queen a lot too.
  9. I have not watched Murder Book yet, but have watched the others and agree. Motives and Murders does seem to focus on cases that take a while to solve. A Crime to Remember was good as usual. The killer was one cool customer and I kind of wondered if he had killed before. He had a serial killer vibe with the only motive is to murder. I will say that was quick justice compared to today! Does anyone know when the death penalty became such a slow, appealed filled process?? Just curious.
  10. Did you watch Watch What Happens.. She was on with Anna Kendrick and someone called in about the Lyme and of course she was having a bad day. She is both condescending and whiney-- weird combo. I always liked her house the best and I did like her last year, but she has been awful lately. Maybe because we finally have some interesting people again, the bloom is off the rose. She is tiring.
  11. Murder Comes to Town is back. Yessss... Since November ID has been enjoyable and is back to being one of my main networks. This thread has picked up and i am also glad of that, too.
  12. Merry Christmas and what the heck am I doing here! I actually watched A Harold and Kumar Christmas last night. Oh well. I really liked the stories about the auditions and enjoyed much of this past episode. I just wanted to know why Lisa R. enjoyed church so much. I am just curious about that. The two new women are a refreshing change compared to last year. Being on a soap does sound like hard work, so I have respect for Lisa R. and Eileen.
  13. I so far have liked Lisa R. and I thought this would be a sweet trip. Both Lisa and her daughters threw Medford, Oregon under the bus. Shame on them. The US is much more Medford than Beverly Hills and I am glad of it.
  14. So I'd Kill For You is good? I skipped the Carpenter case because first time i was introduced to the story was Law and Order. I always hated when they did the "ripped from the headlines". I like Fatal Vows and the 2 talking heads. This time of year is slim pickins' and I actually like some of the Christmas shows. Most, however are just too sickly sweet and formulaic, so am glad for the comeback of these ID shows. I hope Murder Comes to Town and Fear Thy Neighbor come back sometime. Both had stories that I had not heard before. I think that is why I am enjoying Momsters, the stories are original and are not usually murders. I also liked the term of "bulldoser' moms. There really are moms who are like that, pushy and obnoxious-- I used to work at a preschool.
  15. Maizie, some of the content on these shows are disturbing. Sometimes it is law enforcement that is upsetting. I just need to talk about it and I come here. Also many times I get more insight from the posters and links to more details of the people in the stories.
  16. It was, WQ. I did FF a little bit. Just hard to watch someone humiliated.
  17. Of late I have been finding some of the shows I like. Still like Fatal Vows, Stranger in my Home, Motives and Murder and Momsters - which is basically little vignettes. Of course A Crime to Remember is my fav. Just saw Stranger about a nice but a little slow man who was taken in by a women in Texas who basically tortured him. The police were visibly upset. Just sad. I the Miller case, I don't remember the police making a big deal about her drugging the husband. Another thing, she only served about 7 years in prison and did give birth there. I feel bad for the kids.
  18. I love this show and enjoy it. I don't like being negative about a show that has so much promise but is cut short. Henry is the one who needs saving even more than Eliza. He has been clueless with co-workers and people in general. Borderline rude to Book Club girl and Coffee house girl by refusing what they wanted to give, so you don't like muffins! Suck it up, don't refuse so strenuously. The co-worker who stayed over, he was annoying but Henry was brutal. The meet and greet party that Charmonique and E set up. They put in a lot of effort Actually as I type this I am thinking of more examples. Too many. He sees himself as a good person and has high standards, Eliza was the one with no standards so he teaches her. She has improved, Henry has not at least so far. He has shown some really bad behavior and does not see it because he thinks he is morally superior. He could have called Julia to break it off. He does not. He is alone because he is afraid of real feelings. He is uptight and smug. I think he is likable in a lot of ways and he showed that at the concert. I want more likable Henry before the show ends.
  19. Love this show. Can someone tell me about the song Eliza sang? Not up on my songs. Thanks
  20. I too thought it was a little early for the romance part. Eliza realizes their potential but think Henry may resist for a while. That they work together or the age gap or because they share few interests. I think they are a lot alike, I just don't think Henry sees it that way.
  21. Agree with your post Jenkait, well the AA part. I honestly don't pay attention to what she wears. I do with other correspondents but she is a blank to me. AA seems to be a 'charity' or helping organization that has remained true to its mission, which is very rare. Red Cross, Susan G.Komen Foundation, United Way and numerous other charities have made and used big bucks for dubious reasons. AA has kept it simple all of these years and I commend them for that. Sometimes I wish I could go to those meetings and have a sponsor. I also like the serenity prayer which is all over my house. I think AA works because they have kept their original mission.
  22. Hot and steamy ending!!! Another good ep.
  23. I was glad to hear the AA support on this thread. I did think 48 Hours was a little one-sided about this story.
