At Desmond's bon voyage party, he told a few male relatives that if he encounters a bear, it's the bear who will have the problem and need help getting away from Desmond. Right then and there I knew he was in trouble. People who are trained in survival (not that I actually know any but what I gather from watching them on television) never trivialize creatures or situations that they may face. Most of the bona fide survivalists have great respect for predators and also know that losing your head dooms you to failure. Desmond kept seeing bogeymen (bears) around every corner. Did it not occur to him to find a place to camp where there wasn't an obvious bear highway? It was like he simply gave up. I got slightly pissed about it because he took someone else's spot in the competition, someone who might have had a fighting chance to succeed or at least stay a little longer! Tracy's experience on the Appalachian Trail served her well; she's probably had a ton of experience with noisy nighttime forest creatures and she took it in stride. Mary Kate might have been filmed leaving from her mother's house, since her mom was going to take care of the kids while Mary Kate was away. Don't know how she was able to leave those adorable daughters. My prediction is that the military sniper guy will have some problems; he might have a good military skill set but I don't think he has the ability to be zen with the forest and wildlife. I was shocked that he would leave during divorce proceedings. Who does that?

I already love Tracy, especially since I am a single woman of similar age and girth who adores her dog. She actually reminds me of Sue (Life Below Zero) with her measured speech and her ability to get things done as opposed to sitting around and feeling sorry for herself. I did think that she might be trans because her voice is low and those penciled-in eyebrows looked like she was trying too hard, but it hardly matters. I hope she goes far in this. Her backstory sounds like it is interesting (what we know of it); seems like she witnessed a lot of horror in the military and law enforcement. You can never "un-see" some stuff and it haunts you forever. A season or two ago, there was a young woman on Naked and Afraid who had PTSD from her career in law enforcement. I might be making this up, but I vaguely remember that she was with a child pornography/pedophile unit. She had a lot of issues that she needed to "set right." How did I miss Season 1? This is the kind of reality show that I absolutely adore!

Thanks for this, MissT. It seemed so much worse since last season, or maybe there are more close-ups of the Lewis daughters. Looks like I missed the first episode; can l catch it On Demand? The thing I really enjoy about this show is that there seems to be less fakery. I am also finding it very bittersweet, knowing that this is all going to come to an end upon the passing of the youngest child. Bob broke my heart. I am a three time cancer survivor and I know just how difficult it can be to always have that threat lurking over you. And I live only an hour away from a couple of the best hospitals in the country! Treatment leaves you fatigued and the anxiety seeps your emotional energy. The fact that he has the strength to carry on is a real testament to his love of the wilderness. I'm glad that he'll have some time with his daughter and his dog. Grab the gusto, Bob.

Thought it was a good detail that Hector was shown having a hissy fit and then threw back some pills, probably for high blood pressure. Great foundation for when he ultimately has his stroke and ends up in the chair with the bell.

I thought Kim had her "defense lawyer" hat on for this. A defense lawyer might know if her client is guilty, yet she has to defend him, stipulate nothing, ask for proof and never tip her hand. Well done, Kim. It surprised me that the copy center guy didn't try to get money out of Chuck, which is what most tv shows would do. Just like BB, this show zigs when I think it is going to zag.

This show would be so much better if Jeremy Piven could actually act.

Ragnar needs an intervention, stat. Calling Jeff Vanvonderen. "Ragnar, Bjorn and Lagertha are going to say a few things, then you get to say a few things and that's it. But you should know that they love you like crazy." Aslaug, you're an idiot (not to mention the antithesis of Lagertha). If they'll do it with you, they'll do it to you. At least Ivar benefited.

I don't believe there was an update/homecoming segment for Stacey. That burn was terrible and she was wise to go home. You don't want to mess with the possibility of an infection, even under the best of circumstances. She kept saying she wanted to stay in the "game" for her kids, but at what cost? Seems like they changed the PSR indicator noise; in past seasons, it would wake my dog up from a deep sleep and she'd start barking. No big deal, but I'm always happy to let sleeping dogs lie.

When I heard the name Vita, I couldn't stop thinking of pickled herring.

I sort of loved that Jimmy put Kim's name first. When he was doodling in his notebook, I didn't understand what he was drawing until he presented the business card to her.

Jimmy's "encounter" with the inflatable wind man reminded me of a scene from Rectify, when Daniel was released from prison after serving 20 years, saw a similar wind man in front of his family's tire store and didn't quite know what to make of it since he'd never seen one before. Were low-flow toilets even available in the Jimmy McGill years? I cringed when Kim called Schweikart "Howard."

I had to give Digger some credit for being a lot more self-aware than most of the addicts on this show. He is the only one I can remember in recent history who said, "I love my kids more than anything else" and then admitted it was b.s. because he loves his drugs more than anything else. Thank you, Digger. It's something I want to scream at the tv every time an addict claims s/he cares about the offspring. It's hard for me to get my head around, but many of these featured addicts have emotional scars from their own parents; either the parent(s) deserted or neglected them, the parents became addicts and stopped caring about the kids or the kids were molested when taken care of by babysitters/family members/new boyfriends, etc. Then the addicts do exactly the same thing to their own kids and don't give a shit. I thought Blaze was too young to be involved in some of the talk and intervention. It was important for Digger and Anne to hear what she had to say; she was forced to grow up way too early, but she didn't need to hear the surprise confessions from Granny et al. The poor girl needs to be a child. Poor kid already has bags under her eyes. She has the rest of her life to be an adult. I worry that she's going to go down the same path and will need a ton of support and therapy to steer clear of the family curse.

Now that you mention it, I thought that was why Lagertha killed Kalf. I can't wait for Bjorn to lay the smack down on weenie boy.

With regard to the commercial, I figured that Davis & Main weren't happy about Jimmy's theatrical endeavor, but it got the job done, i.e., brought in the clients which translates into money. So maybe they "lowered their standards" and ran an ad, albeit one that no one would pay attention to and at a time when their target demographic would be asleep. Didn't seem to occur to D&M that Jimmy's genius is that he understands human nature (which is why he is so great at conning people) and that running words on a screen at a random post-midnight time is an exercise in futility.

The meaning of the song, Bali Ha'i, shouldn't be lost on us. Bali Ha'i is symbolic of a place that you long to get to but is too far out of your reach, a place where you'll be happy and fulfilled and living the dream. The offer from S&C(?) was just that to Kim. Too good to be true? What happens if she takes the risk and finds out that it doesn't make her happy? Maybe it is better to stick with the devil you know...... It seemed to me that Jimmy was calling her every morning at the same time with a song from South Pacific and she was reluctant to leave her place before hearing from him on that particular day. Even though she was angry with him, she still missed him. His message after he ended the song was something along the lines of "this ends this week's musical stylings of songs from South Pacific and I encourage you to call in with requests." Jimmy is so very charming. She feels like she isn't being respected at HHM, but Kim is someone who believes that you should play by the rules. Maybe she does feel like she owes HHM something instead of realizing that the shoe is on the other foot. She brought in a big client for HHM and she gets absolutely nothing for doing so. They owe HER something and the only way she knows how to react is to leave for lunch and not care that Howard needed the documents read asap. It was her way of saying Fuck You. If you take another look at what Mike bought from the store (he emptied out the contents of the plastic bag onto his table), it was a welcome mat, carbon paper and a ream of white paper which were all used for information about whether anyone was inside his house and how many there might be. He could use that trick over and over again, just renew the carbon paper and the white paper every day and check it on the way inside after work.

Jimmy serenading Kim with "Bali Hai" had me roaring. Guess South Pacific was the musical of the week and it appeared to me like Kim didn't want to leave for work until Jimmy called with the day's song (I'm assuming one of the songs during the week was "Happy Talk!"). I found it so sweet and adorable and how could you be mad at a guy who does that? The turn of events with Mike and the Salamancas probably means that Nacho will now have to curtail his extracurricular side business to lessen the chance of Tuco finding out about it.

I wonder if Lacy was drunk when she agreed to that 1980's perm she had in the pictures of her during her marriage to Gabe. When my mom wanted me to be her Toni home perm guinea pig, I ran the other way for good reason! Felt so bad for her family. They were a good bunch and obviously loved her like crazy. Little Gabe needs his mom, Lacy. Daughter Lexi(?) does too. Glad the Anorexic Super Twins are doing well because I found them to be scary, not only with their ghoulish zombie appearance but also their strange mind melding.

Bluedog100, that's one of the things I love about this show (and I have to say that I watch a ton of television and this IS one of my favorite shows). The whole concept is so meta! Also part of the fun for me is that I live alone (not counting my constant canine companion) and watch tv alone and I don't dare talk to the screen because it wakes her up and then I have to deal with whatever she wants; thus, I am a firm believer in letting sleeping dogs lie. Love the Zenos, not that fond of Cathy and Destiny(?), okay with the rest. And like many others here, I don't watch anything else on Bravo except for Top Chef and I've been losing interest in it ever since the season in which Padma gratuitously showed up in a fringed bikini to talk to the cheftestants. Less Padma, more food. With regard to the young woman with the nose ring, those things are so unattractive and distracting and I can't help but wonder why anyone would want to do that to themselves. Same thing with those ear gauges. Such a turn-off. Yuck.

And Chuck has built up a lifetime of resentment because people really love being around Jimmy, regardless of how he screws things up. Many people rail about how they do the right thing and get a kick in the ass regardless. I am known to say that no good deed goes unpunished. Chuck can't stand that he isn't as well liked as Jimmy, even though he (Chuck) is so accomplished and upstanding. As I said in an earlier post, I believe this was an ongoing situation since childhood. The McGill parents always favored Jimmy no matter how high achieving Chuck was.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Something was going on with Chuck, Sr. that would have tarnished his image (gambling? another woman? a child out of wedlock?) and Jimmy was the one chosen to handle it because their father didn't want or need a lecture from Chuck, Jr. So Jimmy did what needed to be done and didn't say anything about it, much like Kim keeping quiet about not knowing the whole story regarding Jimmy's commercial because she didn't want to make him look bad. Perhaps Chuck, Jr. wasn't around and didn't know the extent to which their father was stumbling (thus he could paint a picture of the father being a saint). My guess is that Jimmy was the favorite child and that is why Chuck is so jealous of him.

On the previous show, Mike told Nacho that if he (Mike) killed Tuco like Nacho wanted him to do, then the Salamancas would be crawling (haha) out of the cracks looking to even the score.

I'm not sure how it works, but I would surmise that if Chuck decided to retire for one reason or another, the firm would have to buy him out with a huge chunk of cash. Maybe it's cheaper to keep him around? I can't recall, but I think the amount was discussed in Season 1 when Jimmy was trying to get Chuck to leave the firm.
