I'm surprised by how much people are saying they liked season 2. I hated it so much that I almost didn't watch season 3. I found the teenager and her landlord sister incredibly annoying, and the whole locking Joe up to write a script was so stupid and beyond over the top. I rage finished the season (only wanted to make it to the bitter end). I'm pleasantly surprised by season 3. Yes, there were some silly potholes (I think forensics would have picked up that Gil was bashed in the head, for instance) but it wasn't so out of control ridiculous that it took me out of the story, like season 2 did. I throughly enjoyed it and laughed a lot. The men in the woods and the polyamourous scenes had me cackling.

I'm watching this episode now and I am so annoyed that I decided to pop in here to see what other people were saying. This is getting into the realm of total ridiculousness for me. It's completely over the top. Is this how the book is? It makes me lose interest and I just want it to end now, which sucks because I loved season 1. I guess I'll keep watching if Delilah dies, out of curiousity over how it happens.... Update: OMG I take it back lol!!

S03.E08: Chapter Eight: The Battle of Starcourt
lightbeam replied to Athena's topic in Stranger Things
The way the regular media and social media spoil shows/movies infuriates me (particularly regular media). I was looking at a news app and I saw "Stranger Things: RIP..." in a headline, and I was super pissed. Some articles flat out say it in the title of the article. Basically you have to completely stay away from the internet. (as an aside, I still haven't seen the movie "Avengers End Game" and was watching an totally unrelated youtube video on tarot and the dude in the video spoils the movie! GRRRRR...) -
I think Erica is a nod to the sassy younger sister Dee, on the show 'What's Happenin" (hilarious show), which was definitely more late 70's, but it was rerun for several years after in the 80's (that's how I saw it). I don't mind the sass so much, but I think it needs to be toned down a bit or come out in waves, as opposed to constant annoying sass. It would be much funnier that way. With the sass at a constant level, it's annoying and disrespectful.

Lauren definitely got a nose job (my catty comment for the evening): http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-5475009/Bachelor-winner-Lauren-26-posed-risque-modelling-shots.html

Yeah, this very annoying. I almost saw the DM spoiler too - and they actually put it in the title of the article, so your eye naturally sees it anyway! I feel "half spoiled," and I'm very annoyed by this. When did it become okay to ruin shows for people not actively seeking the spoiler out?! It sounds like the spoilers are everywhere, and there is no attempt to even obscure the info for those who don't want to be spoiled. I have to stay off the internet until Wednesday morning now, I guess. Considering how pissed off ABC was about Reality Steve, I'm surprised they don't go after the other websites.

I hate to break it to you, but I think that cat was taxidermy stuffing.

Yes! I remembered someone kind of witty with a big personality. It was his personality and not his looks, that made me excited for the season. Sad to see that gone.

He's supposedly dating 19 yr old Sophia Richie. I'm very grossed out. http://www.usmagazine.com/celebrity-news/news/kourtney-kardashian-reacts-to-scott-disick-sofia-richie-hookup-w504911

Shut up! Okay, for some reason this news is shocking to me. I don't know why.

This picture reminds me of the old school V.C. Andrews novels, where you would opened the front flap and there was a creepy picture of a fucked up family.

S13.E11: Week 10: The Final Rose / S13.E12: After the Final Rose
lightbeam replied to OnceSane's topic in The Bachelorette
Well, I really like Rachel and wanted her to get her fairytale ending. Watching the breakup with Peter was just awful and, as a woman, my heart truly broke for her. It was just devastating. It may be editing, but it did seem that Rachel's first choice was Peter. I have a lot of sympathy for her - other than maybe Des, no other bachelorette had to fight to get a proposal from someone she loves. People made fun of it, but she tried to give him and 'out' in a redefinition of a tv engagement, but he was adamant. It was embarrassing and painful, and I completely understand if she has any anger towards him, although to me, what was said on AFTR was pretty tame. I'm saddened by how angry people seem to be at her. Of course, she has to save face. It's a tv show. I truly hope that Bryan is the right choice, that the love he expresses is genuine, and that he loves her in the way she deserves. That is all. If Peter becomes the next bachelor, I don't think I can watch his season. He would be completely and utterly full of shit to me. If he quietly walks away from this franchise I will respect him more. -

That was really depressing. There was no way Rachel could accept Peter's luke warm "hey, let's date after the show...maybe there is a future when I'm 100% certain." She would have been the only Bachelorette to not be proposed to - not only that, but as the first black bachelorette, the pressure must have been enormous. My heart truly hurt for her. Interesting people are willing to give Peter a break, but Juan Pablo and what his face (dude that was on the show twice - blanking on his name) got raked through the coals for not proposing. If Peter becomes the next Bachelor and proposes to someone, my head will explode in sympathy for Rachel. I wish they edited this differently. It was just painful to watch. -
I'm assuming Max figured the guy was real and the story was fairly legit (kid obviously dealing with his mother's illness/death and was probably depressed during the times he disappeared). If they were so in love, have at it! Happy ending! It's strange that their interaction seemed so...cold or distant, considering they have texted all day and had apparently spoken on the phone for hours on end. It's kind of bizarre that it ended the way it did. April had such a dry way of speaking. It's like she had no emotion at all (although she obviously did). She was like the human Daria. Yikes @ the eyebrows. I wish people would realize how unnatural that looks. I miss reading the recaps. Sigh.
