  1. And he had a damn fine ass [/shallow].
  2. Too many TS tonight! Too many wild-ass guesses, too. Hey, let's just randomly name Shakespeare plays! Maybe one of them will be right! Midsummer Night's Dream was particularly boneheaded. Jan. 6 is not midsummer in the northern hemisphere. Is it not a known thing that January 6 is the Epiphany/Little Christmas/the 12th day (or night) of Christmas? Twelfth Night, along with Hora, Don Adams, cuckoo clocks and the salt of the Earth* were the TS I remembered to write down. I got a little distracted from the game because of all the guessing. FJ was an instaget for me. *I have to thank Godspell for knowing the salt of the Earth one, and now I have that song running through my head.
  3. I saw this again last night, and it occurred to me that, instead of showing Kevin Costner breaking off the "Colored Women's Restroom" sign, they should have shown him breaking off the "White Women's Restroom" sign. Or perhaps both signs. It's implied, sure, with the "At NASA, we all pee the same color" statement, but I think it would have been more effective if we (and all the characters) saw him break the barrier in the main buildings.
  4. Not the same as owning them and being able to watch whenever you want. Also doesn't help if you don't have (or want) Netflix. I would buy the DVDs, though.
  5. I was sad they didn't finish the hedgehog category! Cute little hoglets. I also couldn't believe no one knew Vietnam, but on the other hand, I blanked on FJ. I kept running through the eastern European countries in my head and never landed on the correct ones.
  6. D'oh! I misread FJ to say New Hampshire instead of Hampshire, and was so confused I couldn't come up with anything. I didn't actually figure out my mistake until the correct response was revealed. Me so smart! I was at least paying enough attention to be able to get "You Are The Sunshine of My Life", narcolepsy, Little Nell, and Kim. Rikki Tikki Tavi was an interesting guess for that last one.
  7. Nope, it was a callback to a bad joke about George W. Bush from years ago. Something about a number of Brazilian people being killed, and his reply was "How many in a brazillon?" I wish I could remember it better, but using brazillion as a number is something I do quite a lot! IIRC, all the movie titles were only five letters.
  8. Knoxville was an easy TS for me -- my grandparents lived there in 1982, and we had season tickets to the World's Fair that year. I was surprised they all missed Tennyson, Coleridge and Shelley, though. I can't feel too sorry for Nil, not making FJ. He had some pretty wild-ass guesses. FJ was another that was terribly easy in hindsight, though I missed it in the moment, but I don't think I ever in a million, brazilian years would have answered Jefferson.
  9. I am embarrassed to admit that I wasn't able to come up with Camp David, either. I think I forget it's in Maryland or something, and I just couldn't think of any major landmark in Maryland. D'oh! I did get body blow and outcasts, though!
  10. Glad I didn't turn off the TV immediately! Is it really over now? Can I finally go to bed?
  11. Yay!!!!! I could have lived with a Moonlight win, but other than that, there were no contenders in my opinion. I am happy with the La La Land win.
  12. I would have been happy with any of these films winning, but I am ecstatic that Moonlight won.
  13. Well, at least there isn't anything funny to take away from the In Memoriam segment.
  14. Carrie and Debbie (and Gene Wilder) were the hardest ones for me.
