  1. I was not joking. I must not have been paying close enough attention because I lost interest in the show. This season isn't doing it for me.
  2. Why didn't Red have horrible bruises from the beat down she received in the previous episode? She would be hospitalized with that beating. It's lack of attention to plot consistencies that make a show jump the shark for me and this show has unfortunately jumped the shark :(
  3. I think the Hound's wound from an earlier episode weakened him and made him more susceptible to losing that fight. It really was a gritty fight. Especially hearing Brienne scream and groan the way she did. Made it feel very real and tough to watch.
  4. Was Jon north of the wall when he went out to meet Mace? If so, Stannis was too. How did Stannis's men get North of the wall anyhow?
  5. The walkabout made me laugh. I was wondering the same...very risky but one of those moments where I am willing to suspend disbelief. Wait so Jon Snow is the smoke baby! Kidding. Interesting theory. Is there a general non-book speculation thread?
  6. I read the article but didn't catch what scene they have been waiting a decade to make?? hmm..... Ok why the heck isn't Jack Gleeson here!? That doesn't make a bit of sense. He was amazing, definitely better than Kit (though I love Jon Snow).
  7. Refresh my memory. What story did Jaime tell Brienne?
  8. I feel a bit empty that it's over :( Such an awesome episode. I do wonder if Jon Snow would've really let them through before Stannis showed up. It's interesting Jon said his father stood for Stannis. While that is true didn't Ned swear otherwise to protect his daughters (part of his bargain to take the black and lie to save his daughters legacy). So, why would Stannis know Ned really did stand for him? The mountain getting stronger! I had visions of Frankenstein. As much as I loathe Cersei I did like how she bested Tywin. Very impressive scene on her part especially. The Jamie/Cersei scenes are hard to watch...way too much ick factor. I really felt Jorah's absence. I wonder how he would've advised Danerys. Things aren't looking so good for her. I guess her dragons won't grow much being chained up but what choice did she have really. I am very worried for Jon with the way Melisandre was looking at him! What is The Lord of Light showing her about him? Please leave Jon alone! Really enjoyed the chat between Jon and Tourmond and I did like how Jon followed his wishes with regard to Ygritte. The Bran scene was really intense. What the heck were those skeletons? I don't think we've heard of them before, right? Also were "the children" the babies that the whitewalkers turned into whitewalkers? Sad about the Hound. I had a soft spot for him. They made him a bit too likeable as a character. I truly thought Arya would put him out of his misery since they really did seem to bond. Also it really seemed out of character that he was begging for death. Didn't really like that bit but I guess it was more to show us just how cold hearted Arya has become. And her choice to not go with Brienne was interesting. I wonder if Brienne had showed her the bread her friend made if that would have changed her mind. But it really does seem as though Arya is "gone" and she has let go of reuniting with her family. What an amazing scene with Tyrion standing in his power against his father. Tywin's death will certainly shake things up in Kings Landing. I guess Varys thinks he's better off elsewhere. I'd think he would have stayed knowing how vulnerable things are. I wonder where they are heading. Did anyone catch it? Man so sad it's over until April 2015.
  9. Who pulled Sir Allister away? At first glance I thought it was the Nights Watch but then I saw a bald guy pulling him and associate bald with Thenns. And Sam did say Sir Allister has fallen. On first watch I thought he survived but on second I don't believe he did. How did head Thenn know who Jon was? I can't imagine he knows what Jon looks like but he really went after him. Did anyone notice the scary music was a distortion of the theme/opening credits song? Reminds me of what they did with the music in Inception. I was so impressed by this episode. What they pulled off was incredible. Jon Snow has always been a favorite for me so I've never been bored by his storyline like some others have been. Good point. That would have worked because I too was wondering why Ghost seemed to be eating the one guy instead of going after more. You mean weekend ;-)
  10. Who did we lose each season? 1 Viserys Drogo Ned king Robert 2 Renly Mormont or was he 3? 3 Robb catelyn Tasha 4 Oberyn Ygritte Joffrey
  11. I don't know if this is the right place to comment on this but I don't know where else to put it. I read up to 100 pages into book 4 and just didn't find myself enjoying the books. I love the show so much I want to be unspoiled for the show since in my opinion the show is better than the books. Sounds like your experience has been similar. Hang in there on being unspoilered. I believe it's worth it.
  12. The following are minor book spoilers, that also do not spoil future plotlines. Then why does Dany say "fire cannot kill a dragon."
  13. Why did Viserys die from fire if he is a Targaryen? Or is that a spoiler?
  14. Ok so is it? Master Aemon ____(sibling) ____ Aegon ---- (wife) ---- Rhaella I I Elia Martell (wife)---- Rhaegar ___ (sibling) ____ Viserys (sibling) ___Danerys I I (Issue killed by Mountain) Oy....the formatting got all messed up.
  15. Will this reveal anything to happen in the future/books or is it historical/background info?
  16. I thought the same. Not sure why she would have to be with him for 9 months. How did she die again? I wonder if after the series is done if HBO or GRRM will do a prequel.
  17. Viserys was the Mad King's grandson and he was not immune to fire. Dany said it herself after Drogo killed him with the molten crown.
  18. The smile was a really nice touch. Wasn't expecting it. It seems Im the only one but I was sad when she died. I liked their love story. Wonder if Gilly will mention her to Sam or Jon....the red haired wilding woman who let me go.
  19. Makes total sense! Yes, thank you. Did you notice Robin didn't seem sad at all over his mother's death. Kind of surprising.
  20. Aiden Gillen is 46. Nikolaj is 43. I won't risk googling how old is Littlefinger for fear of spoilers.
  21. I'm also just enjoying it and not trying to analyze and convince myself why it's ok. It's pure delight watching what has unfolded between Sansa and LF. I cannot understand why people think he's creepy in a Craster or Ramsey way but each to his own. Not here to convince anyone to ship a pairing they are uncomfortable with. If it's not Jon Snow and Dany (would love them to end up together) my next favorite endgame would be Sansa and LF (with him rehabilited by his real love for Sansa).
  22. Some other observations. What is the significance of the owl (or not owl) hooting that Gilly hears that meant the wildings were coming? I just loved Ygritte in the scene. Everything about the way she walked to the choreography of her kills to her shaking hand sssshhhing Gilly. The nights watch miscounted. Said they are 105 men but after losing 2, they are down to 102. Unless I missed something. When I first saw the flayed man I thought it was the bald one who was giving reek a hard time (that the other guy put an axe through). That confused me and I wasn't sure if the Bolton's flayed them all. Wondering why Jorah didn't defend himself more. Guess he was so heartbroken and shocked though he should have done a better job explaining what happened.
  23. I'm enjoying grey worm more because I'm so impressed by the actors many talents. He's also a singer/songwriter. One of his videos called Stay Inside. "When the underdogs rise again I'll have my time." The weird mannequins he builds have a Game of Thrones vibe to them. Would love to see his music get more interest. P.s. Looks like YouTube links don't work here. His name is Raleigh Ritchie.
  24. Maybe it has something to do with being in mourning for aunt Lysa though why wouldn't she do that immediately. I don't like the black hair though. The red made her stand out. She's become my favorite character. Those her chemistry with Littlefinger.
  25. I'm on the ship, too! I can see them as a quasi-evil team like Frances and Claire from House of Cards.
