  1. This episode really got to me. I was crying throughout most of it. Lesley Manville was sensational. And as an American, when the lady was reading Margaret accounts from 9/11, I just burst into tears. A very moving episode. Now did Margaret die in bed while Elizabeth looked back while leaving the room? Not sure why I was moved to tears by this episode and not Diana's death. Might just be my current mood.
  2. Why is it that Gladys would be a prize to a Duke of England? What am I missing? I think if he at least flirted with her more at the dinner where they sat together it would make sense that at least he liked her. But neither seemed to have any interest in the other. It was scandalous in the 1930s when The Duke dated Wallis Simpson because she was an American. The divorcee part was worse of course. But unless Hector was enamored by Gladys, it doesn't make any sense why he would covet her.
  3. This was a difficult watch and I had to take several breaks knowing what was coming. I thought it was an interesting choice that they initially had her in the tan suit which was what she died in and replaced it with the black top and suit jacket. As a viewer that made me think it would happen the next day because I was expecting them to use the actual outfit. I wonder why they made that choice. I wonder how much of the chain of events was true. This made it seem even more tragic that she didn't want to go to Paris and if only they stayed at the hotel that night it would be okay. But we don't know if any of that is true, right?
  4. That's exactly what I think it will be. I thought it was so silly for him to be deathly allergic and then just keep dating Howard. I miss being able to binge watch this show. I only started the series a few weeks ago and binged it so quickly. It's not nearly as enjoyable having to wait each week.
  5. I'm rewatching the season. Who did Tim Kono get the engagement ring for again? I already don't remember.
  6. Where did this cookie theory originate? The show does feel like it lost the magic of the first 2 seasons. Separating the trio isn't working for me. It seems like this is more a season about Meryl Streep than the trio.
  7. Was it known that Meryl Streep was starring this season? It was a surprise to me.
  8. Just binge watched seasons 1 & 2. I love how I am engaged enough with the show that it's a distraction. That's a huge win in and of itself for me. It's really hard for me to focus or enjoy much of anything these days. But I will agree with all the naysayers who are frustrated with the implausibility of the murder plot. I see people trying to find reasons why it could work, but I think it boils down to a willing suspension of disbelief. Some of my questions/thoughts (which there are no reasonable answers for) are: Why was Kreps or Poppy trying to kill Lucy during the blackout? It seemed like Poppy never saw Lucy in the passageways but I guess she did Poppy going back to solve her own murder/disappearance and no one recognizing her is an absurd plothole Cinda not recognizing that Poppy is Becky is even more absurd Why would Lucy plan the murder weapon in Charles' apartment and then not find a way for Kreps to use it as evidence against Mabel? Why did Kreps attack Mabel in the subway? Why did no police get involved after Mabel stabbed someone on the subway that was filmed? All ridiculous plot holes. But I think the more you think about them, the less enjoyable the show becomes. So, it's best to not think about them. And to the poster upthread, I did get a bit of a Twin Peaks vibe from the slow mo. What I love most about this show is that it is comforting. There's a sense of belonging and community. The building kind of reminds me of how in Schitt's Creek they all hang out at the motel.
  9. I find it puzzling why people perceive Midge in 2005 as a sad situation. While it's true that she was alone in her spacious house on that particular night, it's important to consider that there are likely other nights when her home is bustling with friends and family. In that moment, she was simply unwinding after a long day and enjoying a phone conversation with her best friend, filled with uncontrollable laughter. She had achieved her dreams, and there is nothing inherently sad about that.
  10. Is Clare supposed to be the author and is Clare's story exactly the author's story?
  11. I'm really enjoying this show though every episode makes me cry. Younger Clare is the star of this by far.
  12. Does Danny remind anyone else of Jesse Pinkman? I get such Jesse vibes from him. Like he's a good person but he keeps fucking up and doing bad things.
  13. Hmm I didn't see this twist coming. Feels very Tyler Durden. Not really liking it.
  14. As soon as I saw flashback Ginny with the painted eye, I knew she was covering up a black eye. So Gil was hitting her. I wish she would be honest to Paul and Zion. I get it's part of her character and how without therapy she won't change and will resort to what worked in the past. But those coping mechanisms are only creating problems in her present. Like just say Gil used to hit me and I don't want him around Austin. So does Georgia not remember Young Joe or does she? In season 1 there were moments it seemed liked she knew (don't cry over spilled condiments) and he didn't and now it seems the opposite. Why don't they have a conversation about it?
  15. If Georgia must own a gun how could she be so irresponsible as to leave it unlocked where Austin can find it. It's so irritating.
  16. She played Bev on Schitt’s Creek. I just binged season 1 for the first time and it’s nice to have no wait for season 2 but strangely something feels really different this episode and not in a good way. Can’t put my finger on it. I used to enjoy max even though she was over the top but she was a somewhat good friend in season one. She now has no redeeming qualities which is a problem for a character who is already annoying. The way she treated Abby was horrific. Abby had just shared that her parents were divorcing — I’m just disgusted by max’s treatment of her. I’m also not liking this version of Ginny. Last season they could mix her angst with fun — fun with her mom or her friends. Now it’s just really toxic. Also Georgia seems different too. These subtle changes have created too much of a tone shift. They had the perfect balance season 1. I really hope it gets better.
  17. We’re Xennials! There’s a nice group of us on Reddit! ‘77-‘83 I believe. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xennials
  18. Yeah that was really weird especially because there was a whole plot about how Georgia needed someone to watch Austin so Paul did. I feel like she should've called out for a babysitter or something. Like "Carol, is Austin asleep?" or something. Just a mess up.
  19. I guess I'm in the minority but this might be my favorite season. I know that seems really weird but I liked that he wasn't obsessed with another woman. It was a nice change a pace and a way to make the season different than the others. It's like how each season of Dexter was so different. This felt like that -- finally something different from Joe.
  20. Where is Cnut!? He was one of the most interesting characters. I’m very disappointed he is not in this season. Was the actor busy or something? Makes no sense.
  21. I thought that, too! I’m confused why they’re pretending that Jack is the old dudes nephew. It was also weird that he didn’t have any money and I was wondering if the whole thing is just a big scam. I got nervous when Jack told Portia to leave the door unlocked because I figured something nefarious was going to happen.
  22. I get this is a drama and meant to entertain but it’s so unrealistic to go on a vacation and have 2 men want to hook up with you (Portia). I started at home ketamine and last week’s episode was so relaxing while watching it after taking the ketamine. Last night’s episode was unsettling. I realized I should only watch happy positive things. I am beyond obsessed with the location and scenery. It’s spectacular!
  23. Im not sure why I was shocked when Cam said he cheats a lot and proceeded to make out with Lucia in the pool and then have sex with her with Ethan there but I was! It seems unrealistic that Harper would agree to spend the night away from Ethan. I get she wanted to be more friendly to Daphne but it seems too far fetched to just go along with the plan to spend the night at the palazzo.
  24. I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I thought that Charles ended up looking good this episode.
