Found it - it was episode 205 (League of Assassins)... Diggle: "What are you doing? Oliver told you to stay put. I thought you didn't want your father to know you're still alive." Sara: "I don't. But it's better than him not being. Where do you think you're going?" Diggle: "With you. I'm not going to let you go out there without any back-up." Sara: "Dig, you may be a three-tour Special Forces veteran, but I was trained by the people that make the Special Forces look like a kindergarten class. So step aside or get put down." Diggle: "It's your funeral, Sara."

Even being former military wouldn't make Tina the best fighter that Oliver's ever seen (assuming that dialogue makes it into the actual show), like better than Sara, Nyssa or Shado. IIRC, in a S2 episode, there was something said about how Diggle was clearly out-matched by Sara in a one-on-one fight because Sara was a League assassin. So the established show canon is that League training surpasses military training. But with this show's inconsistencies, I fully expect Tina to be just as good a fighter as Sara and maybe even using some of the same (stunt) moves. Of course, it could turn out that Tina has a mysterious past that includes martial arts training in addition to her military background. (This is also assuming she becomes a masked superhero.)

This is somewhat off-topic, but I post it here because it alludes to Tina... I watched the season premiere of Sleepy Hollow last night and- aside from the gaping hole left by the loss of Nicole Beharie's Abbie Mills - I almost laughed when the new female lead character, Diana Thomas (played by Janina Gavankar), a Homeland Security agent, said that she was a former marine. Hmm, a tall, slender brunette with long wavy hair, who's a tough law enforcement officer and former marine, and who's very skeptical of the male lead character. Sound familiar? I mean, you could basically switch Janina Gavankar and Juliana Harkavy between Arrow and Sleepy Hollow. * (* Maybe if Janina Gavankar hadn't been cast on Sleepy Hollow, Arrow would've brought back McKenna Hall this season. McKenna could've moved from Coast City to Central City after she finished her physical therapy and been present during the Star Labs explosion, which gave her the metahuman Canary Cry.) Also, Ichabod now has a team that includes two eager young people who, for some inexplicable reason, are in charge of a federal agency called The Vault that documents weird phenomena (even though they look like they're barely out of college). One is nerdy Jake Wells, who fanboys over Ichabod because Jake has been following the supernatural goings-on of Ichabbie. The other is blunt-talking Alex Norwood, who invents weapons and devices, but she's skeptical of anything that can't be proved by science. Jake and Alex are like a mash-up of Cisco, Curtis and Scully.

There are a really limited number of choices if you don't want Prometheus to be someone just introduced this season or not yet introduced. Tommy is unlikely, I still think. Malcolm is an overused villain. Slade Wilson is also unlikely, not to mention he's so "been there, done that." Who's left? We previously speculated that Prometheus was Adrian Chase, but I think that's unlikely since he's probably the Vigilante and the Vigilante doesn't know that Oliver is the Green Arrow. Justin Claybourne's son could be someone that was already introduced this season under a different name. That's why I thought that maybe Detective Malone was really Claybourne's son and somehow faked his own death. Otherwise, Prometheus is going to be someone who we haven't even met yet or hasn't been cast yet.

It would be pretty boring if everyone had the same opinions about TV shows and characters. So I'm okay with different opinions and interpretations. I'm just bitter whenever I see double standards being applied, especially when such behavior is rewarded (whether in real life or in entertainment). Btw, I've not seen much complaining about the new GA (Rebirth) comics series - which give BC pretty much co-equal status and panel time with GA, even though the comic is called Green Arrow, and not The Adventures of Green Arrow and Black Canary.
-
This is the audience that the EPs are apparently writing for this season (you can also put this in the category of "Are we even watching the same show?") - I wonder if this same audience is complaining about The Flash's storyline this season being about Barry & Iris and now about Saving Iris... I found the cast of the original Charmed show annoying (bad acting, too cutesy mannerisms), so I hope they do a better job of casting this reboot... I love the idea of Tommy as Prometheus. But they couldn't even get CD back for a quick cameo in the 100th episode, so I don't know how they could get him back to shoot a full episode, let alone a couple episodes. In any event, just for kicks (and however unlikely), I think I'm sticking with my Star Trek theory that Prometheus is Justin Claybourne's son, Billy Claybourne - a/k/a the 'deceased' Billy Malone - with clues to be revealed in 513 (Spectre of the Gun).* ;) (* Just a coincidence that, at the start of filming 513 on Nov. 29, Tyler Ritter tweeted a pic of Detective Billy Malone's Star City Police Department business card?) On another note, I seem to recall that the EPs really wanted to bring back Helena Bertinelli AKA Huntress this season. So I'm wondering if their original S5 plan was not to introduce a New BC or bring back KC as Laurel, but instead to bring back Helena and do a big redemption arc/romance?/new team member storyline with her and Oliver. But TPTB looked at the backlash over killing off Laurel/BC and the then success of the GA Rebirth comics which included BC. So now instead, they've split up that original plan between Black Siren and Tina. I have no evidence to support this - just thinking out loud.

You can read this entire issue online here - EK's article is on pages 52-59 (to get to those pages quickly, click on the "Pages Overview" icon* on the left side, then scroll down thumbnails in left margin until you see EK's pics and interview)... https://www.joomag.com/magazine/urban-magazine-january-2017/0988163001483632161?short (* Looks like a box made up of 9 smaller boxes) -- On what it was about Curtis that motivated him to take on the role, EK: "I just felt like Curtis has a lot of depth. He is really silly and funny but also extremely intelligent and that's something that I was very excited to play with. He is very similar to me in a lot of ways. Whether it be his undying loyalty to the people who are close to him or his tech prowess, it drove me to the character. I just thought he had a lot of different levels and he would be fun to play." -- On whether he had to do any special training, EK: "I have always been in pretty all-right shape. I was skinny a couple of years ago because I had been running a lot. I have always been very fit and active in my life, but I did have to take it up a notch for this role. They got s trainers and I started doing Krav Maga, boxing and little bit of Wing Chun - Definitely mixing it up and having a lot of fun. Doing all that cool stuff, it's been really invigorating time." -- On Curtis seeming to have the ability to keep the other characters grounded and in touch with their humanity outside of Team Arrow and whether Curtis was always supposed to become a vigilante, EK: "First of all, I think the writers are phenomenal. They really go where they feel like the story is telling them to go. They really follow the chemistry on the screen and how the audience react. The[sic] create some unique perspectives from that point. Early on in the show, I didn't know that I would become a part of Team Arrow. I know they had hopes to one day make this character Mr. Terrific. I'm happy with the way things have gone. I know I've been having a blast playing off all of the new members of Team Arrow. We just have so much playing off each other and dynamics of the new team. I feel like we are willing[sic] hitting our stride with the show. I feel this is our best season ever. The writers have done a kick-ass job and I applaud them." -- On whether Mr. Terrific is based on the comic book character, EK: "He is definitely based off the comic book character. He has a lot of similarities, but he is his own version of that character. I am glad that they gave me the role to formulate him how I see fit." -- On whether he has any input on his costume, EK: "I didn't have any input on it, but obviously our costume designer Maya Mani is one of the best in the industry. She has a pulse on it, she does Flash, Legends of Tomorrow, and Arrow.

Assuming that there will be a New Black Canary (and I don't think that's a certainty at this point), I think that the decision to introduce a New BC wasn't made until sometime after the S4 finale aired - perhaps due to some b-t-s shenanigans and/or DC interference. That would explain the "BC" on Laurel's tombstone and why Laurel's final words to Oliver were changed over the summer.
