YMMV - but I think there are more good actors on Arrow than on The Flash. LoT has a wide, mixed range of acting abilities. Supergirl has a decent cast, but the lead (MB) is like GG without his charisma. Just looks would not have caused TPTB to change Arrow from an originally envisioned "tripod" (SA, KC, CD) to focus on one main character (SA) - you had to have one actor who really stood out. He has done a good job of portraying different versions of Oliver (pre-island Ollie, post-island Oliver, PTSD Oliver, lighter Oliver). He's especially good at expressing things with just his face and his eyes. He doesn't overract. Just looks would not have caused Felicity to become a breakout character (and EBR a breakout star) with just her first limited appearance on Arrow - you had to have acting ability, screen charisma, and natural chemistry with the lead actor. She's since proven that she can do both comedic acting and dramatic acting. DR has been great since Day 1 of Arrow. And so forth with the respect of the Arrow cast. The only weak link has been KC (again, my opinion). When I watch Arrow, I see a lot of fully fleshed out, flawed, three-dimensional characters who I can believe are real human beings. When I watch some of the other superhero shows, I often see a lot of two-dimensional (and sometimes cartoony) characters. Tbc, this is just my opinion and I respect that yours may differ.

I think I'm going to skip watching 415. I really have no desire to see the BMD or the break-up. I'll wait to read what you guys have to say first. I think 417's "Beacon of Hope" will refer to Oliver - maybe deciding, despite his BM secret being exposed and his marriage/relationship with Felicity being called off, to remain in the light and in the mayoral race.

Yes. Although Oliver told her to take 2 pills, Felicity took 3 pills. Then after she hallucinated Goth Felicity, she read the warnings on the pill bottle and they said the medication could cause hallucinations (among other things). So she was relieved, because she was afraid she was losing her mind but it was just the medication. Oliver: “The doctor says stick with the two tablets to keep with your current pain management regimen.” Goth Felicity: “At least you found the right party favors. Three pills is a bit much, but who am I to judge?” Felicity (reading bottle): "’Ketorolac. We've been assuming the spoiler that Laurel is back in court in 416 is to prosecute Damian Darhk (or Ruve Darhk), esp. given WM's comments that Laurel is going to play a big part in taking down Darhk in a non-action oriented way. But 416 seems too soon for that take-down. (She could also don her lawyer hat again later in the season.) So consider other possibilities: She's in court in 416 to represent Oliver in a child custody/visitation suit against BM. The kid is presumably kidnapped in 415, so the secret's out. Then in 416 Oliver sues for visitation rights. (Yes, I know Laurel is an ADA, but TV lawyers seem to be experts on all legal matters, civil and criminal.) She's prosecuting one of the Darhks, not for attempting to murder Oliver & Felicity in 409 (since they have no evidence of that) but for kidnapping Oliver's son in 415. Team Arrow finds evidence implicating Ruve Darhk in the kidnapping. She's arrested, effectively taking her out of the mayoral race. Too ludicrous? ETA: Edited to correct mistake noted by Morrigan2575 below.

Another alternative is that they could do what The Blacklist has (maybe) done and leave it somewhat ambiguous as to whether or not he is in fact Felicity's biological father. (Yes, I know Reddington told Liz that he's not her father, but still he could've lied; I find his attachment to her suspect.) So the Calculator can say outright that he's not her father, but the show could plant seeds that he's maybe lying.

Catching up... if they killed Diggle, Oliver would be left without a single guy friend in Star City. More so, Diggle is his "brother" and best friend. I don't think that even Barry or Roy qualifies as a close friend, and they live in other cities. So would they really leave Oliver without a male friend on Arrow? These EPs love to mess with fans. I wouldn't be surprised if the Calculator turned out to be someone from Felicity's childhood, but not her father. Then they can drag out the mystery of Felicity's father for yet another season. :( If the Calculator does turn out to be Felicity's father, I'm all for it. Then I'd be trying to decide if I would like or not like it if he turned out to be the real brains behind HIVE. It may depend on Tom Amandes' availability and willingness to sign on for more episodes.
