  1. I'm never sure whether it's too spoilerish to post tweets by new cast members in the Social Media thread, so I'm posting these here..
  2. Is Tom Felton really that expensive to hire? I saw all of the Harry Potter movies and I barely remembered that he played Draco. I'm sure he's a fine actor, though. I wonder if Arrow, Flash and LoT all get the same budget amount. If so, maybe Arrow can spend more $$ on casting more people because it doesn't have to spend as much on special effects, whereas a lot of Flash's and LoT's budgets have to go toward special effects.

  7. Good luck with your surgeries, @EmeraldArcher! I look forward to your return to this board. On a shallow note, I just saw this news ("Danger, Will Robinson!")... 8. With Supergirl moving to The CW and to Vancouver, I wonder if that show will change tonally or visually. Remember this 2014 interview with David Rapaport, in which he seemed to make a distinction between The CW and other networks, and between casting in Vancouver and casting in L.A.? In this interview, Shelley Carney said that, as a casting director, Rapaport ended up working a lot of shows where he's looking for "young, beautiful actors" a lot of the time, mentioning Gossip Girl, Flash and Arrow. So she asked if he felt that there was a lack of roles for "older actors or more average looking people." Rapaport replied: "No, not at all. Not at all. I think, you know, you have to look at something like Gossip Girl or 90210, for instance. They are on The CW, which is a youth-based market... They are appealing to the 18 to 34 year olds. These are fantastical shows that are appealing also to a, um, fantasy world of what it's like to live in high society New York or high society Los Angeles. And so, in the dream world, everyone is under 40 and beautiful. In reality, that doesn't exist. Um, I think it's a very, very small part of what is out there in terms of roles and the industry. Um, you know, a hard part for me is a lot of the co-star, you know, 5-and-under day players, are cast out of Vancouver, which is where we shoot Arrow and The Flash. So I don't usually have the opportunity to cast a lot of older, um, actors or more character-y actors in supporting roles. Um, I do get to cast them, you know, in larger roles, but I don't get as many. I think with Supergirl, hopefully, which will shoot in L.A., we will have the opportunity to cast people from, you know, 0 to 99, which really, really excites me because I came up under Mali Finn, who came from the theater, and she loved character actors. She loved the messed-up teeth and the crooked eyes and - you know, just people with a lot of personality and so that, instinctually is in my gut and that's what I'm looking for. Um, but tonally, I also have to understand that the projects that I'm working on, for the most part, tend to steer towards, um, the beauty business, you know, and it's - and -and that's only a small part of it. So I don't want to discourage anyone who's not that. You know, I'm not that and I'm doing okay in life, you know." 9. It's Olicity, Arrow, vs. Jamie&Claire, Outlander (and we're losing badly), in the Final Round of H&H's Swoonies 2016 - voting ends July 1, 2016 2 p.m. EST... Swoonies 2016: TV Edition—Final Round! June 29, 2016 http://www.heroesandheartbreakers.com/blogs/2016/06/swoonies-2016-tv-edition-final-round
  10. I had this awful thought - what if Carly Pope's reporter discovers Oliver's secret son (scandal for the new mayor)? And that leads to the return of Samantha and William? I swear, if we get a news announcement that Anna Hopkins is returning to Arrow, I'm going to do Edvard Munch's The Scream... I wonder if one of the new male characters will be a love interest for Thea - either Chase or Wild Dog. Also, once again, Laura Hurley is like my sister from another mother...
  11. I have found only four instances where Arrow used the "in your bones" line (which is apparently also used by GB in real life*). I could've sworn there were more. Other than the following, does anyone recall any other episode where this line of dialogue was used? ... (* In 2015 WSJ interview, GB: “The only way to defend an episode through the whole process, with the studio and network and actors [weighing in], is to know in your bones that this is the moment we’re writing toward.”) 221 (City of Blood) Laurel: "No. No! (Hugs him) You can't commit suicide, Ollie. You won't do that to me. Or to Sara. Or to your friends. Or to Thea. Oliver, she just lost her mother. Losing you would destroy her." Oliver: "But she'll be alive." Laurel: "I don't know anything about hoods and masks or human weapons or any of this. But I know you. I know you like I know my own name. And I realize it may sound crazy in light of your secret, but I know who you are in your bones, Oliver. And that person - that person doesn't give up. That person, he always finds a way." Oliver: "Not this time." 401 (Green Arrow) Laurel: “We need the Arrow.” Oliver: “The Arrow's dead.” Laurel: “We're hoping that's not the case. We're hoping that you can't change who you are in your bones.” Thea: “Come help us stop these guys, and then you can come back to your -your domestic life of tranquility and soufflés.” 401 (Green Arrow) Oliver: “What do you want, Amanda?” Waller: “To help you. You haven't returned home because you feel you're a monster. You're trying to deny it, channeling your killer instinct into something productive. But you can't change who you are in your bones.” Oliver: “I don't need a therapist.” Waller: “The hood and eye makeup may suggest otherwise. Stop trying to run from your inner darkness. Embrace it. Let it run its course. Oftentimes, the only way out is through.” 414 (Code of Silence) Donna: "Yes. That and, um - I've been living vicariously through you. You and Oliver are one of those couples that everyone believes in. You don't lie to each other… ever, and he's gonna be the best daddy in the whole world when that time comes." Felicity: "(chuckles softly)" Donna: "You know that, don't you?" Felicity: "In my bones." Donna: "And when I see something that beautiful and that rare and that romantic, it also reminds me that, you know, I'm never gonna find a love like that."
  12. It's not even July and there's been a bunch of new characters introduced. Now if a lot more young women are added to the cast in recurring or guest roles over the next month or two, then I think we need to worry about the return of womanizing Oliver. Oliver dating again bothers me in this respect. Can he still be in love with Felicity and have sex with other women? It's that old S2 question of whether Oliver could've been in love with Felicity then when he slept with Sara.
  13. I believe the woman is Jane Wu, who plays Jade in TMNT2...
  14. SA will be back from China on Friday, July 1st... Stephen Amell I miss Facebook so much... Published on Jun 29, 2016, by InstaFOXtv
  15. It's just speculation at this point. However, there's also this... Apparently SA did a Q&A on Weibo as part of his TMNT2 promo tour in China and he said the following: Now I don't know if he was joking or if he was giving a serious spoiler. ETA: For that reason, I didn't post this in the Spoilers thread.
  16. Carly Pope is 35 years old and 5'6" in height. She has a lengthy IMDB resume. I believe this is her twitter account: https://twitter.com/pope_onarope I really hope she's not a new love interest for Oliver. I'd hate it if he went back to his womanizing ways - that would such a regression. When I read the spoiler, I immediately thought of that reporter played by Leslie Bibb in the first Iron Man movie, who slept with Tony Stark. I'd prefer it if she just turned out to be someone who eventually becomes an ally to Team Arrow - and maybe a back door to a future GL appearance.
  17. Two of the tweeted promo pics for the FanFest Orlando Charity Event on Sept. 17...
  18. Too true. Incidentally, Madison McLaughlin was in the Arrow production offices today, but her character of Evelyn Sharp isn't supposed to return until 502. So what's she doing back so early? Are they shooting 501 and 502 together?
  19. Wow! - Hayley Atwell is going to be at the HVFF-NY on July 2-3 (wish I could go)... http://heroesfanfest.com/newyork/guests/
  20. I guess EK either knows he will be, or is expecting to be, on the Arrow panel at SDCC...
