Here are the comic con covers that created the controversy and Damian Holbrook's response to SA's tweet. This is probably TV Guide's revenge for Arrow killing off Laurel/BC (I say this partly tongue in cheek). IIRC, Holbrook gave a Jeer for her death in TV Guide Magazine - and I don't believe him when he says he had no input in the cover decision... As @catrox14 noted above, if it weren't for Arrow, there would be no Flash and no Supergirl and maybe no Blindspot (also from GB). Combined with the consistently poor treatment that Arrow has gotten from its own network, this is not encouraging me to return to watching Flash or Supergirl next season (I lost interest in both of those shows this season). I strongly disagree that Arrow will end up being a footnote to The Flash. I think both those shows, as well as Supergirl, will end up being part of a Greg Berlanti-verse topic or a superhero TV renaissance topic. Watching the above Corey Robson Cinematography Showreel 2016 just reminds me of why I love Arrow - and why I couldn't care less about Flash. ETA: I think the Blind Gossip item refers to Ben Affleck.

I listened to the above Comic Book Central podcast interview with EK. He talked about his background, getting the Curtis Holt role and his other projects. He mentioned falling asleep on the Arrow set because it was so comfortable. Given the choice of crossing over to Flash, LoT or Supergirl, he'd like to have Curtis work with Cisco - and also Felicity - the three smart people working together. On being asked why he thought Green Arrow was still so popular after 75 years, EK said that he thinks people can really relate to and look up to characters who've really been through a lot of struggles and keep going. As for social media, he hopes to do more snapchat videos and also mentioned the "aggressive on set dad" series that he did with EBR. In terms of spoilers - first off, it was annoying how the interviewer kept incorrectly saying "season 4" and EK didn't correct him. Nothing new Arrow-wise (if you've been reading the Spoilers thread). EK mentioned that

I have a "wait-and-see" attitude to S5. I think that S4 started off well but then they got bogged down in setting up LoT (while Darhk conveniently waited in the wings). IIRC, the 3-show crossovers also messed up and delayed production of Arrow episodes for the rest of the season, which might account for the season ending in more of a rushed whimper than a bang. Really, the biggest flaw of the second half of S4 was the ill-advised BMD that was just a mechanism to break up Olicity and tie up that illegitimate child thread. The Diggle's brother and Felicity's paralysis storylines could've been better executed, but the fault might have been due to the aforesaid delays caused by LoT/crossovers. Anyway, fingers crossed! Also, I don't think all of the new vigilantes/characters are going to join Team Arrow. My preliminary guesses: Curtis Holt - joins Team Arrow this season and continues next season. Adrian Chase aka The Vigilante - initially an adversary but becomes an ally (but not team member) by the end of the season, and then either dies or leaves Star City. Wild Dog - limited story arc and exits sometime during the season. Evelyn Sharp aka Artemis - limited story arc and exits sometime during the season. Detective Malone - dies by the end of the season. Susan Williams - limited story arc and exits sometime during the season.

IMO, a "special snowflake" is a fictional character on a tv show who is viewed as special or superior for some reason and therefore is treated differently from every other character. He or she gets more time and attention and also gets away with behavior that would otherwise merit consequences if done by another character. The "snowflake" term is used because each snowflake is unique. So someone who is a special snowflake thinks he or she is even more special and unique than everyone else and deserves more special treatment. There's often a sense of entitlement and self-importance. ETA: A special snowflake stands out even more in ensemble shows or even protagonist shows where it's not clear why he or she is a special snowflake.
