  1. I have mixed feelings about it. Last year Elissa's win was probably largely due to her sister siccing the Brenchel Army on the voting. It's kind of the same thing with Frankie except he's widely loathed and Elissa wasn't.
  2. I think (and probably many in the industry think) that the way she went about it was wrong and it pissed off high-level people, people who could and would keep her from being rehired. Year after year she'd issue these unconfirmed announcements that she was returning to Y&R and then when it didn't happen she'd go on another one of her tirades. IMO she just made herself look like a lunatic. Black women in her age category have a hard enough time getting and keeping acting jobs without tripping themselves up the way she continually has done. Enough time has passed that if another soap or major TV show wanted to pick her up they would because she's a good actress who still probably has a reasonably strong following However, her behavior likely makes people wonder if she'd go nuts on them too if they dared to fire her for whatever reason (which may not have to do with racism at all).
  3. Depends on how one defines "wrong". She's loudly and frequently gone on public record calling various people in CBS & Y&R management--as well as several of her former castmates--flaming racists. Now that may or may not be true but the way she's gone about it has made her look like an embittered lunatic. I'd see them bringing MM back before her. At least he had the sense to pretty much keep his mouth shut about whoever was responsible for firing him.
  4. Man, I really puzzled over this because I could not understand the reference. Then I realized it was a call-back to a previous recap. Geez, I gotta start taking notes I guess 'cause I can't keep up. But, Brava! Great minds... I know it wasn't supposed to be funny but GT looked ridiculous. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if she started running around screaming like Frau Blucher, "He vas my...boyfriend!"
  5. Is it wrong that I can see John Ross in bed with Mama Ryland? (If it's somehow to his advantage, of course.) Mama Ryland would probably turn John Ross out. Oh, and bonus points if crazypants Emma walks in and catches them in flagrante. Except maybe a few years too late. I can barely stand how they're trying to make Judith Light look old enough to be Mitch Pileggi's mother. Now that you mention it, so did I. And that wasn't the part of the body I was expecting to see. In fact, I was sure we'd only see Mama Ryland's face reacting to it because it couldn't be shown even on cable TV (except maybe Game of Thrones).
  6. It ain't over until the heavyset woman hits a couple of high octaves. The jury doesn't know yet about Derrick's real profession. If that slips out it could change everything. Also, if Frankie gets booted and let lose on the jury he'll surely try to turn as many of them as he can. (Unless production bribes him not to, I guess.)
  7. Yep. The implication wasn't very subtle at all. I'm hoping though that Phyllis isn't going to go back to trying to steal Nick from Sharon. Odds are they're going to break up anyway and I need Phyllis to concentrate on proving that Kelley (or Maureen?) is the one who hit Delia.
  8. With Amber waving from the driver's seat! Seriously though, I'm worried that production is going to use PB as either a way to save Frankie or stop Derrick. They know that the little boy in Caleb won't be able to resist temptation. If they're going to do it to try to spread some of the wealth around then okay but I'm thinking it'll be mainly just another scheme to help their Grande golden boy.
  9. The entire Internet is mad about this TA nonsense. Found this on another BB forum: https://imgflip.com/i/c2a8s#Bq3JTYOm6qOtVb2y.16 (SFW)
  10. Probably has something to do with his sister. CBS likely wanted to curry favor with the family since she's the hot thing right now.
  11. Maybe they know Donny is probably going to win AFP, not their pet Frankie, and this is a consolation prize. (Though consolation prizes are supposed to be of less value, are they not?) I continue to believe that Frankie was given some financial guarantees going in and this latest TA crap is part of that shadiness.
  12. Why would you want to have young children running around a house that sits on a cliff? Wyatt's full of it.
  13. Funny comment from FORT: "Next year they can just line them up and shoot everyone but the anointed one, then give HIM the money..." Yeah, except for the part where CBS loses out on three month's worth of advertising revenue. The effect would still be same though if they're pulling what they appear to be pulling for Frankie. It'll be telling if Derrick starts re-working on Caleb and/or Cody or if the POV competition ends up being yet another easy win for Frankie.
  14. Well, I now 100% believe BB is fixed and that Frankie was guaranteed a F2 as a condition of being a part of the show. He has always acted like he was untouchable and now we know why. I'll finish out the season but I'm done with this show. The producers just insulted the audience in a huge way. Just wait. Derrick will work his magic.
  15. Some of my reactions to the second episode: Randal's got a top-heavy body. He might be one of those short-ish guys who bulk up to overcompensate for their lack of height. Must admit that I like the way TP portrays the friendship between the women. For all his shortcomings in writing drama (at least going by what I've seen on THATHN), he gets this part right. He must have studied Desperate Housewives like he was going to be tested on it. Kelly's maybe-two-timing-boyfriend. Missionary position. The jokes write themselves. Poor Aiden Turner. He worked on one of the classic daytime soaps--All My Children--with one of the acclaimed pioneers of the genre, Agnes Nixon. It must be killing him to be dealing with this show's ridiculously slow pacing and trite, repetitive dialogue. But on the other hand, he's probably glad to have a job.
  16. Not sure I understand the difference between this thread and the Hatewatching one but here goes. Sigh, TP doesn't seem to have learned much about scene pacing and writing non-repetitive dialogue. I thought The Haves and the Have Nots would have provided him some OJT on what not to do but apparently it didn't. He's running with a lot of the tried-and-true soap opera tropes right out of the gate. Guy sleeping with best buddy's wife. Jealous and possessive ex-husband. Wife pregnant by her husband's best buddy. Seems a bit clichéd but maybe TP'll manage to bring some new twists....Yeah and pigs are going to be cruising up in the jet stream.
  17. I'm not Team Maya but this is why I can't be Team Caroline either. AFAIC, neither woman can claim the moral high ground. This is the basic truth, IMO. The person in the middle of a love triangle is almost always the one with the power. Rick needs to deal with both women appropriately, in accordance with their roles in his life. Caroline is his wife, Maya is his employee. If he wants to change the arrangement then IMO he needs to divorce Caroline first. (And perhaps suffer the possible legal and financial consequences...) Right now there's no basis for Rick to dump Caroline because he loves his wife and is committed to his marriage. So he firmly and unequivocally should tell Maya to take several giant steps back. If he doesn't then he's tacitly encouraging her disrespectful behavior, IMO. Maya is headstrong and doesn't seem like she's going to stop coming at Rick any time soon unless she gets the blunt wake-up call only he can deliver to her. I'd agree if it really was just as simple as that but it isn't and both women know it. Trust me, having someone deliberately and repeatedly mangle and mispronounce your name when you know they know better is a display of passive-aggressive hostility if not full on hatred. Caroline is fully aware that what she does provokes Maya and yet she keeps doing it. She shouldn't be surprised that Maya doesn't take it kindly. Caroline won the battle for Rick; I don't think it's a good look for her to keep rubbing Maya's nose it. Sure Maya's still coming on to him but I think it's Rick's job deal with that. If Caroline doesn't think he's doing that effectively enough then she needs to take that up directly with him. Just my opinions, of course...
  18. Yeah, especially since she's the big boss' wife. Did Christine do absolutely zero research on the show before she entered the house?
  19. Hope's history with Steffy Forrester is the presumed issue. Ivy theorizes that Hope would have less trouble watching Liam move on if it was with a woman who didn't have the same last name as her longtime nemesis. Whatever, but I didn't realize Ivy knew about all that crap with Steffy.
  20. Hmmm, wonder if that means he or someone associated with him leaked the story. It sort of makes him look like the victim of those mean 'ol cast members who threatened to bring down the show if he was brought back.
  21. So, his fans are proud to see him engage in a lewd pantomime involving an innocent, virginal young woman? If so, fcuk his fans. Also, as far as "public perception" is concerned, Frankie does know about the live feeds, doesn't he? ETA: Apologies to any of his fans who might be here and are indeed "proud" of his behavior. Let's assume I'm not referring to any of you.
  22. I have nothing to say about the veracity of the article but do have a few points about that site the article is on: it's a click-bait site. The writers apparently are paid a reasonable amount--per article--for such sites but it's still basically the journalistic version of piece work (IMO). the site is based in Australia. Nothing against Australia it seems odd to me that they are posting this news before the usual major U.S sites did--International Date Line notwithstanding.Interestingly, RadarOnline--the National Enquirer's sister website--has posted this article almost word-for-word without attribution to the Inquisitr site. Makes me wonder which site may have ripped off the other, or whether they're owned by the same company. the author of the article also has history on another click-bait site (from which MM news has shown up here and on TWOP in the past) that does pay per number of clicks. Articles about MM have apparently proven to be guaranteed attention-grabbers, especially with the notoriety angle. tl;dr: The details provided in the article may or may not be completely factual or objective and readers should probably exercise some caution. Update: either I glossed over it on initial reading or the site has since been updated, but the Inquisitr article linked above references RadarOnline's article. That probably explains the similar wording between the two postings. But that also means the story apparently originated from the National Enquirer group, which has its own long-established notoriety.
  23. In many ways Caleb reminds me of the people who appear on the reality TV show, Catfish. (Which is also speculated to be quite scripted.) It's mind-boggling how the catfished victims consider themselves to be in a relationship with someone they've never met, and often have never spoken to or seen a real picture of. A lot of them live in relatively isolated areas away from big cities and their dating options are limited. Apparently that helps make them easier and perhaps more desperate targets. I could totally see Caleb getting taken in by a faked Facebook profile of a beautiful girl. But on the other hand, maybe his experience on BB has given him enough exposure to "real" people to make him less vulnerable.
  24. Why does Katie spend so much time at Ridge's office? Dang, woman, stop hovering. Give a guy some room to breathe, ya desperate twit. Speaking of hovering, what is Maya's job beside modeling? How is it that she's free to creep around the FC offices getting up in everyone's business? Gosh, DD really is looking doughy in the facial area. Wonder what that's all about? Are they trying to write it into the show by having $Bill chow down on gigantic buckets of chicken wings and extra large pizzas? This just in: there is now a severe shortage of nerve on Planet Earth today because some spoiled, selfish d-bag in Malibu has taken possession of the world's entire supply.
  25. Frankie had Jocasta? Oh that had to have burned his hide. Love it.
