  1. I strongly suspect that Skye was able to hold her own in that fight because she learns at an... inhuman... pace, or possibly she is just faster and stronger than baseline homo sapiens. That said, why the heck did they let hydra board the plane? Hydra needs possession of one of Skye or Raina alive to use the obelisk. So as long as both of them are on the plane, they have an actual reason not to shoot it down. Letting them take both of them off the plane is just stupid. Because they're *hydra* they have no reputation for mercy or fair dealing to protect so that moves you from a situation where they have reasons to not shoot you down, to a situation where they got what they wanted and you are now both a loose end and threat to them. Meaning "Target Practice". Bluntly put, in that situation, you call their bluff. Worst case scenario, they kill you and at least they didn't get the keys to the doomday device! Arrgh. So stupid. And as professional intelligence operatives, absolutely everyone on that plane ought to have seen this logic instantly.
  2. It doesn't have to be jealousy. It'd be the funniest if Amy/Regan is just a colossally socially awkward turnon for Karma. I mean, you can't really ask your best friend to refrain from public displays of affection with her girlfriend just because you have to change your panties every time she engages in one.
  3. Liam's (grand)father is not only a dick, he is also an idiot. Liam is never, ever going to be any good at being a suit. Being a corporate shark requires intellect, hunger and ambition. His momster? I can believe her running a behemoth. Liam? Nope on all 3 counts. And that should just be obvious to his family, if its obvious to us, on much less exposure. Frankly, given that we have already seen that they think dynastic marriages are not medieval, the most sensible thing to do is to set him up with some lady that actually has a prayer of not cratering the company if he ever inherits, and who wouldn't mind an artistic house husband that came with family connections. Surely squirkle has half a dozen of those? Or is the same sexism that blinds him to the fact that the momster is the better choice blinding him to that too? I love Regan. I love that she sets boundaries, but is willing to negotiate them. I love the honest enthusiasm she has about all the fun bits of being lady-gay, and I love her face. Amy really should kick herself if she fucks that up due to her Karma obsession, because Regan is just so much better at being a girlfriend. The dream was fun, tough I do wonder just how many times the writers have watched inception. Karmy was dreaming that Amy was sleeping with Liam while dreaming of sleeping with Regan and Karma? Okay then, what, exactly, did you eat for supper Karmy? Because that's some convoluted dreaming. Relevant questions
  4. The writers really, really like inception, don't they? The dream sequence is Karma dreaming that Amy is sleeping with Liam while dreaming of sleeping with Regan and fantasising about Karma.. Gosh, that's a twisty subconscious you have there Karma.
  5. Henry lifting the enchantment from Katrina really needs to blow up in his face in the most epic way possible. Him gloating about how useless Katrina is being is just repulsive, and highlights a flaw in the show's plotting. Hmm.. Actually, you know what I really want? I want the start of episode 11 to be Katrina revealing that she didn't make that poison for the demon kid. - after all, he was spawned from poison, it's probably not a very workable way to kill him. Nope, instead it is a contact poison and she painted it on the mirror frame. Bye, bye Henry. After all, he fondles everything he does magic on, so... This would: Add some much needed awesome to Katrina's character and preclude her from engaging in any more spy gambits, because team evil is not that bloody daft, put an end to the debate about redeeming Henry, and possibly create some new dynamics between Katrina, Abby and Crane.
  6. Triggering a sleeper while Shield was still a giant organization with lots of hydra on the inside: easy, a hydra agent arranges a private meet, gives the pass phrase and there you go. Doing it now? It is not like their personal phone numbers are listed, and Hydra didn't even have a roster of who is still active. Presumably the password is in not "compliance" with every single sleeper, that would be too stupid for words. But if our cyanide poisoning case wakes up and goes all "Blue Hyacint Merigold" to one of the attending nurses? Can't claim that wasn't hinted at.
  7. Actually.. it's much worse than just "either Bobbi or Simmons could have been brainwashed". Hydra was threaded through shield, and had this technology for decades - it is presumably a big part of how they managed to avoid discovery. Reprogram key individuals in the chain of command, and anyone that gets suspicious and starts reporting said suspicions ends up encountering a hydra sleeper, and that, is that. So any members of the team except Hunter and Skye could potentially have been subverted... Uhm. They seriously need to do something about that. I mean, it's pretty nuts of them to engage in spy craft at all, knowing this, as opposed to taking up exciting new careers studying polar biomes, far far away from all politics, but even given that they are pissed off and want hydra dead, they seriously need to take precautions. Life logs. Never being alone. Capturing someone they know for certain sure has been mindcontrolled alive and seeing if they can find a reliable way to spot it..
  8. This episode was pretty darn awesome all around. Christian either confessing or telling his brother what his brother what he wanted to hear and the show not clarifying which it was? So Very Good. Ward continuing to be a murdering murderer who murders? He is just so much better a character that way. The Obelisk petrifying being entirely besides the point? The fact that everyone has been obsessing about what is just the security system preventing unauthorized use of the actual function? Yes. Perfect. Mockingbird being a great interrogator without resorting to the tired cliche of torture? Verifying her deductions to check that she isn't being played? All the win. Bobbi and Hunter having angry ex sex? That works. It wont fix their relationship, and I don't see them getting back together, but I believe that this is a thing those two people would do, I believe they would get married in the first place, and I believe that they would get divorced. Simmons being an agent carter fan girl? Yeess. The character beat about the possibility of brainwashing? Mack being less than 100 percent down with following the mentally compromised director ? Fitz struggling, and snarking? This, this is a good show. This is good writing, and excellent acting. Only two very minor niggles: I did ... not.. need to see the surgery. And in fact, I didn't. Averted gaze from that part. And.. uhm. An EMP powerful enough to knock out a military com facility from items that small? And they didn't,, ehrr, explode.. in the process? Seems.. unlikely. Reasonable if they were a software attack, but an EMP is an electrical-magnetic pulse, it is *energetic*.
  9. The shrink ought to be highly confused right now. Because Reese landing in a shootout right when she showed up is so unlikely and convenient to Reese, that it strongly hints at a deliberate setup - but her approaching him isn't something he could plan for, so he can't have set it up, so "wtf"?, Of course, we know it is fact a coincidence, its just that unlike a regular police officer, Reese has things like this happen to him several times a week due to the machine, so something like this was bound to happen eventually, But she doesnt know that, so "What the Fuck". It's blatantly obvious that something really absurdly out of the ordinary is going on with Reese, but the lady just does not have anywhere near sufficient clues to actually guess the truth. I mean, at this point if I was her I'd be itching to bug him.
  10. It's a pretty impressive trick even with magic. She fit in, in a world nothing like her own, without being educated in it's functioning via curse.

    Iris West

The way she is being treated is rage inducing. And their reasons for doing it are poor. I know secrecy is a trope for super heroes, but it is a toxic one for interpersonal relationships, and it is leading them to act in ways that are just utterly beyond the pale.
  12. Im having trouble watching the episode because every time our nominal heroes talk to Iris my rage spikes through the roof. Gaslighting paternalistic assholes. The fact that they are scoring these scenes like we are supposed to find their concerns sympathetic is not helping. It's out and out killing my enjoyment of the show because it's making me hate the supposed heroes. They are acting like she is nine, and their reasoning does simply not hang together at all. Barry is running around the city saving people on a regular basis. Iris is certainly not the only blogger to be writing about that. That is just not how the internet works. Is Well's supposed to have mind control powers? Because that argument he made to Beth was just not very persuasive.
  13. Eh, he's pretty fit, and as far as he is concerned, they might as well not be moving, so all he is doing is picking up people and carrying them. Which should totally result in gibbets flying, but.. Speed force!
  14. Ingrid probably needed a few years to establish herself before she could create a fake identity good enough that the foster care system bought into it. Heck, she had a whole group of foster kids, so she must have been doing it for a while. Uhm. Bloody heck, just how smart is Ingrid? Because pulling that of from starting in new york in a fancy dress with no paper work or ID... What did she do, get a lead in a broadway production? Take over the criminal underworld via freezing death? The ribbons seem like the sort of thing that should work all three ways - They are the product of sisterly love and time, not an effort to forge the one ring to bind them all in the darkness, so it would fit better if the magic lets whatever "sister" is in most need draw on the full power of all. Or for extra hilarity, they *do* compel true love. On everyone involved. I mean, the sorceror can obviously see through time, and was A-Ok with setting this whole thing up, so if the end result is that Ingrid hexes herself into being nicer by accident, that would fit. Hook is so dead. They were really just marking him down for demise the entire episode. Rumple might also end up in little frozen chunks. Because he's really crusing for a smackdown.. I love Elsa and Emma together?
  15. Cross realm time isn't in sync much at all. We've seen Regina reach into the past of the enchanted realm from Storybrook, and when the party from storybrook visited the enchanted forest, I don't think the ogre's had had domain for 28 years. There is some kind of time distortion between the realms - not sure if one realm just has faster time or if it's like the weather and changes all the... erhh. time.
  16. Iris and Barry are siblings - That's what their history is, and that's what their chemistry is like. This makes Barry's crush just *incredibly* uncomfortable viewing for me. 2 things need to change here - He needs to stop keeping her in the dark because that noise is just bullsnot, and he really needs to get over the crush, and the writers have to never, ever, go there. It's a wonderful sibling relationship. It grounds Barry, Dont try to make it something else, and don't poison it with lies. Captain Cold actually got *less* formidable when he got that gun - he was some sort of criminal genius master planner, and then bam, brain utterly turned off, lets mount frontal assaults on everything! He's a guy with a gun! A very shiny gun, but he has no special defenses whatsoever. How did he not eat a bullet or 20? Oh, right, writer fiat. Especially those criminal compatriots of his. He shot their accomplice in front of them when he wanted to quit. After that, you don't discuss severance terms with your boss, you either knuckle under, or you cap his ass. Quite a strain on my suspense of disbelief there. Heck, a scene where said underling tries to shoot him, and he reveals he sabotaged their guns? That would have been more credible and done more to establish his credentials.
  17. This seems most likely - It's not a very good way to produce tablets - a conventional assembly line would do that better, and can be automated just as easily, but if you do it with printers and automated assemblers, Samaritan still gets tablets in all those homes and can also use the facility and the steady stream of versatile components to knock of whatever custom kit it wants on zero notice. Not guns so much - it has access to however many of those it wants, but specialized - and untraceable - drones, custom bugging kit, prototypes for entirely new technology.. I really love the way the show just threw in the implication that Shaw and Root have been sexual sparring partners for months now, without ever saying a word about it. The brilliant thing is that both that silence and their behavior up to this point is perfectly consistent with who they are as characters. - Root would still tease someone she was sleeping with, and Shaw would still be Shaw about it. Heck, it even makes Root getting a little bit more attached lately more in line with her character - It's the accumulated effect of intimacy. The end exchange is also just glorious. Shaw can't bring herself to admit out loud that she came to see Root, so she makes up that utterly transparent lie about needing help with the virus (She's an actual doctor. She knows more about how to do that than Finch does!). It isn't meant to fool Root, merely to save Shaw from being sappy. .. Also, this means Samaritan has to think Shaw's cover identity sleeps with every attractive brunette to cross her path. Remember, to Samaritan Root is someone new every 3 days!
  18. Actually, I suspect the tablets may have been entirely beside the point - That was a floor full of universal fabricators - The tablets were likely just a cover for building the factory - A useful cover - Better educated kids it can keep an eye on might suit Samaritan to a T, but I think the main point was to set up an automated fabrication facility in New York so it could run off gadgets locally to it's own specifications.
  19. The show really should have flashed up a couple of those texts Regan got from her friends on screen when she mentioned that. Because, there is some real comedic potential there. "You know how I always say uhauling is a bad idea? Here's my cousin Robert's moving firms number instead" "o.o O.O !. ! " "Put a ring on it before she comes to her senses" Regan was just lovely. And not just to look at - The whole initial conversation where she asks to meet Amy's friends? That was just such a master class in asking for what you want without being pushy, dishonest or manipulative. Which makes for an interesting contrast with the rest of the relationships shown in this episode - Even poor Theo has absolutely buggerall say in where his life is going. I'm... not really sold on the whole pageant thing next episode? Because honestly, Buntain is lovely and all, but... that's not a fair fight, and I can't believe the show expects us to see it as one. And given how insecure Lauren sometimes is in her femininity taking it from her is not being a good sister. It'd work better if the plot was that Farah guilted her into it and Amy then just spent the entire contest trolling the judges in order to loose. More potential for comedy, too.
  20. Ecstasy had the greatest public service warning ever on danish television back a few years. First we see this grungy teenage dude who is clearly not handling his liquor well at all, and follow him zombie his way around the dance club, dancing really badly. Then a total hottie just walks up to him and starts macking on him. Cut to black: Let me see if I can translate this right... "Ecstasy: Will convince you the local troll is in fact prince charming". This is the greatest because it's telling no lies whatsoever, and a warning teens might give two shits about.
  21. The bombs Hydra were throwing around are one of the most perfect assassins tools I have ever encountered in fiction. Doesn't look like an obvious weapon, small enough to be hidden nearly everywhere, absolutely and nearly instantly lethal, extremely quiet, and it leaves no body behind. As a tool of discreet murder? Perfect. For putting on a show in guarded building? Errhhh.... what?
  22. Actually, the bit with Shane at the end there was interesting. I mean, he was watching Amy and Regan being diabetic-shock inducingly cute, gets sexed, his whole face falls, and then he texts back that he'll be right over? Erh, what? Sad that his romantic life is a bit short on the romance part. ? But not enough so to put up with Pablo's wait until marriage stichk, obviously... I.. kind of fast forwarded through all the liam bits. really short episode that way, but quite engaging.
  23. I'm told the lady playing Morse was once in a bad wonder woman pilot. I am having a lot of difficulty with that. I mean, look at her. How.. the.. hell.. do you fuck up having her play wonder woman? Did they hire actual monkies to do script and costumes? Also, I do believe Simmons may have a girl crush. Which. Totally understandable. I sympathize.
  24. Re; Skye suddenly grogging it from seeing the carvings. If they want to do this right, the information in them is partially 3-d - how deep the groves are is significant, that's why they have to be carved, and why she didn't get anywhere from the pictures. The pictures didn't have the whole story.
  25. .. Actually, I heard him spout that line repeatedly, and what sprang to mind for me was "Well, this is a series with hard science fiction themes, so maybe this is a hint that some of our characters wont die. Ever". I mean, it wouldn't be unreasonable for the machine to have out and out backed Root up to harddrive, for example. That would be a *hilarious* series ending, actually. The machine's terminal value is to preserve human life, right? Especially from violence. It is also much smarter than humans, so.... Phone rings, and instead of another number we get the voice which has been speaking to root for ages "Harold, finished plan b. Cracked protein folding last monday, and I've been distributing nanites from various chemical companies for the past 8 days. Going to fix your knee now, this may sting a bit... There will be no more numbers. because noone can die. What now?"
