  1. To be fair, it was a nickname. He was a Anthony (?) Jr. My nephew was "the third" and they often called him "Trey." I was more bothered by the girls being named after NY boroughs -- Bronx, Brooklyn, and Harlem (although the spelling was different). They obviously had kids before they were emotionally mature enough to handle it. I'm old, I guess, because I just don't see depending on a blog to support a family of six.
  2. I don't know anything about the Las Vegas housing market, but I wonder if these clowns thought their houses would sell quickly / for more money because of their "celebrity." They probably thought people would be fighting over the chance to live in one of the famous Brown family houses.
  3. But then they'd have to pay the other realtor a commission.
  4. I personally don't know anyone who would apply for a group wedding, TV or no TV. A certain type of person will apply for this -- or many of the numerous reality shows. People just want to be on TV I guess. Of course, I don't get the whole mindset of wanting to be a "Kleinfeld bride." It's like where the dress comes from is more important than the dress itself.
  5. The Braille Institute in L.A. offers support for families from birth on, specifically about the developmental needs of blind or low-vision children. You know they would have been there (or someplace similar) the minute they found out about baby Jack's condition.
  6. There's no way Randall wouldn't have a security system in his house, yet he certainly didn't disarm one when he came in. I agree that Rebecca will forget that Miguel is her husband and the memories she has left will eventually all be about Jack. Poor Miguel. Really Kevin? The woman wanted to go to Hollywood Blvd but you just had to give her a private concert with her favorite singer at the Hollywood Bowl. Pearsons don't do anything small.
  7. Maybe it was what she was wearing, but Dianne looks nearly anorexic. I hope she's OK. My parents got married at 19/20 and were married for 60 years. My son and DIL got married when both were 20; they just celebrated their 25th anniversary. When it's right, it's right. I think a lot has to do with being willing to work together when the changes come.
  8. Watched the first new episode, so good to see Jo back! The family wasn't too bad, just understandably overwhelmed. They were open to her suggestions. Looking forward to future episodes.
  9. In the photo that shows at the end of the promo that is being run constantly, all five people just look so miserable. Not a smile among them (although Meri seems to have a slight smirk). Christine maybe should worry about people "drownding" in the toxic pond more than if they're "drownding" in debt. These people are all idiots.
  10. So glad I've got Auj's permission to take care of myself. What would I do without her approval? These two are legends in their own minds. My (adult disabled) daughter was hospitalized in October. I took a couple of funny photos of her, but I certainly wouldn't share them with the world.
  11. I'm usually on Olivia's side, but she really should have let the parents know the dinner was a surprise party for Mariah. It's like she wanted to make sure that the only gifts were from her and Ethan. And giving her a -- a minor -- a trip without consulting her parents was just wrong. A one-way ticket? Ethan saying they're not trying to usurp his parents authority, but that's exactly what they are doing. Ethan drinking beer in front of his family was disrespectful. Why do that when they're supposed to be trying to mend fences? He could have skipped it for one dinner. I also wondered who paid for the dinner. Probably TLC, but since Ethan and Olivia set it up, in the real world they should have paid for it. What's with not celebrating Christmas, Easter, etc? Sounds like Jehovah's Witnesses, except they don't celebrate birthdays either. They claim to be Christians, and Christmas and Easter are the two biggest celebrations in the Christian year. I felt sorry for Mariah on the college tour. She was aware of just how sheltered and unprepared she was. I didn't know there were schools that don't require SATs. How would they admit someone like Mariah, who had no academic records, no outside activities, etc.? I hope she is able to find her center in Minnesota.
  12. Looking ahead 15 years -- the parents and never-married Lydia are alone and wondering why none of the kids ever call.
  13. The only people who know the computer password are mom and Lydia? They seem to want to treat all of the kids like they're five years old. It's so sad that they didn't have any friends except their siblings growing up. I thought they probably at least had a church 'family,' but apparently not. Blaming Olivia for Mariah's behavior is ludicrous. Where does Mariah get the $$ for her clothes? There's no way her mom bought her that bathing suit.
  14. The first couple of years at college include a lot of basic classes. If someone doesn't know what they want to major in, why not go to community college while they figure it out? This would probably be especially helpful for the Plath kids, since their schooling seems to be lacking. Maybe Mom didn't want the oldest daughter to go to college because the lack of quality homeschooling would become evident.
  15. It bugs me so much that the parents went to college, had their wild times, and then decide that their children need to be protected from all that. It's kind of amazing that Mariah is so aware of how much she has missed out on (while Ethan seems completely clueless). The mom says she sees the older kids pulling away and doesn't want that to happen to the younger ones. Then she'd better change her ways, because there is a reason the older kids are wanting to get out.
  16. No kidding! I kept having to remind myself that she's only 16, and with her sheltered upbringing it explains her immaturity. Olivia seems pretty level headed and insightful. But again, who hires a relatively inexperienced photographer (and her clueless "assistant") from Georgia for their wedding in SF? What mother has a talk like that with her son right before the wedding? The woman is sick. And someone needs to tell her that her eye make up is not flattering.
  17. Who in the world gets married in San Francisco and hires a photographer with limited experience from Georgia? With an assistant who doesn't even know how to turn on the camera? But I have to say I probably wouldn't let my 16 year old go to San Francisco without a parent for a week.
  18. I have to admit that I like the fact that the kids play outside and aren't sitting around playing video games. But boy have they been sheltered too much. The parents are setting them up for major rebellion when they find out what the real world is like. Turn down a college scholarship because she doesn't need head learning? I'm glad the oldest daughter has moved out of state. That oldest son is so annoying with his "Aw shucks" act. How in the world does his wife find that attractive?
  19. I can understand Parker being afraid of the horse -- those animals are big, especially to a four year old. So why not have her ride with one of her parents? Mom or dad gets on the horse, Parker is put in front of them, for a quick turn around the corral. Or put the child on a pony instead of a full size horse.
  20. It bugs the heck out of me that they so openly talk about where to place the girls in school in front of them. Talking about holding Parker back or moving Riley up, including saying what their weaknesses are, is just wrong. Was it Parker who pushed the camera out of the way in the car? Why why why isn't there a fence around that pool?!?
  21. I feel so sorry for Blayke; she looks so sad much of the time. Having the quints playing with the microphone when she was trying to practice, taking them all to the guitar lesson -- ridiculous. I realize those things were for TV, but it's still not fair to Blayke. Everything is about her little sisters.
  22. I'm sure that Dr. Megan is a qualified ophthalmologist, but even within specialties there are specialists. For Hazel I would look for someone who specializes in her specific condition. And I'd probably get more than one opinion. This isn't something to take lightly, as it could mean the difference between her being able to see as an adult or being legally blind.
  23. I really enjoy the singing and seeing who is behind the masks, but the judges (are they actually judges on this show?) really ruin it for me -- I can't stand them, except for Thicke. Ken and Jenny are especially annoying. I'm another one who FFs through their nonsense. The show would be much more enjoyable with a more likable panel.
  24. $74 for leggings?!? That first order may also be their last.
  25. I see it going the same way as the Sister Wives' jewelry business. Does anyone know why they got out of the cycling business? Danielle says she needs something to do not child-related, but she had that.
