  1. I felt sorry for Riley tonight, the poor girl really didn't want to sleep alone in the dark. Have they never heard of a night light? It may have worked for her. Kudos to Blayke for helping her in a way her idiot parents couldn't. I'm pretty sure that masks were required in Texas in October. While shopping for Halloween costumes Adam, Danielle, and Blayke were wearing masks but none of the quints were. They're 5 and we know they will wear masks when required. They were in a store where dozens of people have been handling the merchandise. Logic doesn't seem to work in adult Busby brains. It was nice to see Adam's parents.
  2. I don't mind Niecy. It may be because she doesn't put up with Ken's antics as much and Ken gets on my very last nerve. I agree that Niece would be great as a judge. She could replace Ken or Jenny and I'd be happy. I record the show so that I can FF through the judges' ridiculousness.
  3. I thought it was just 3 floors, but still, that would have been a deal breaker for me. Aside from the stair issue, the house was a good compromise for two people who wanted totally different things.
  4. Caught an episode last night (no idea when it originally ran). Chicago, she wanted a high rise with all the bells and whistles, he wanted a single family home. What struck me was that the husband reminded me so much of Tom Hanks, both physically and his voice. They surprised me by actually picking the house that was a compromise.
  5. I know. It's pretty natural to look before you cross the street -- unless you are a Pearson, I guess, and assume any traffic will stop for you.
  6. I decided last week that the wardrobe people hate Tyra. This week I realized that the hair and makeup people do, too.
  7. It's apparent that the costumers hate Tyra.
  8. When my mother died at age 81 we called to cancel her cell phone service. About a week later I got a letter saying that her service would be put on hold at no charge while she was deployed. LOL. I assume "deceased" and "deployed" are next to each other on the computer screen and the person just hit the wrong one. I know my mom would have laughed. But yeah, you could really mess someone up by cancelling things on them.
  9. My guess is that money was in trust for Cody, but Cindy was in charge until he turned 18. At age 17 she convinced him to buy the land "for his future." It was her way of getting her hands on his money. She never intended on turning the land over to him.
  10. As sad as it is that Cody will lose the land, in the long run it may be good for him that it's in Cindy's name. She's the one who will be on the hook for taxes, fines, etc. and it won't hurt his credit.
  11. I really don't like the two hour format, especially when it's only one hoarder. It gets boring. We see the same shots of rats or roaches or poop bags over and over again. I end up not only disliking the hoarder more, but the professionals as well. The only one I think deserved the two hour treatment was the Julian Price house.
  12. I agree. I understand that sometimes circumstances are out of your control, but as far as I could tell, none of them were doing much to improve their situation (other than calling Hoarders to do the work on the house). The kids did seem to work hard, though. Flora really bugged me. She obviously didn't want her daughter and grandkids there and would have been perfectly happy living in her own filth.
  13. I believe that in the first episode he remarked that when he asked her how many children she wanted, her reply was "How ever many the Lord gives me" or something to that effect. Sounds like they're quiverful people. In an article from after the quints were born, they said they were turning the media room into a nursery. I get annoyed with people who need 4,000 sq, ft. for their family of four, but yeah, that doesn't look like a big enough house for that many people.
  14. I've told my kids that, if need be, it's OK to put me in a "home." BUT, I told them that I want them to visit at different times. I don't want the staff to know that Dennis's wife might be better off (and happier) in a facility with medical professionals. Lots of people visit their spouses every day.
  15. I certainly hope Dennis' kids stay on top of things to look after their mom. How they could leave her in those conditions is beyond me.
  16. Maybe I'm heartless, but if my parent or spouse was a hoarder, I wouldn't stay in the situation no matter how much I loved them. (I'm talking dirty, dangerous hoard here, not just too much stuff in a clean house.) I understand that these people have a mental illness and I can sympathize, but I wouldn't be willing to sacrifice my own health or the health of my children. As for the comparison to a disease like cancer, I assume if they got cancer they would pursue treatment. Most of the hoarders we see aren't willing to even admit there is a problem, much less accept treatment.
  17. I get so frustrated with family members, landlords, etc. who don't follow through when the hoarders won't clean up. Why don't spouses move out (and take the kids)? Why don't landlords evict them after threatening to? As long as there are no consequences to the hoarder, there is absolutely no reason for them to change.
  18. Not only are children not protected financially on reality shows, they also aren't subject to the same rules regarding hours worked, schooling, etc. that apply to child actors.
  19. I think the girls had on dark blue shorts in those photos. But yeah, it's hard to tell that they're fully clothed. Certainly no worse, though, than in their bathing suits. Creepy men are going to be creepy no matter what.
  20. I like having this show on in the background while I'm doing something else. I think if I had to spend more than 10 minutes with Karen I'd want to throttle her. That laugh gets on my last nerve.
  21. I must admit that these parents seem to be more engaged and involved with their kids than other multiple families we've seen on TV. And the children are well behaved. I question why they keep having so many kids, but they're obviously doing something right.
  22. Complete with lots of "Woe is me". How could this have happened, we were so careful, etc. While they're out "living their lives," they could be ending someone else's.
  23. I've never heard of the one they mentioned, but I know about Huntington's Disease, which sounds similar. If you have the gene you definitely will get the disease, usually between the ages of 30-40.
