I thought it was stranger to show Theresa (?) get her hair all done, and then have it destroyed by the wind! But we saw no negative reaction. Instead, we saw her calm him down (if he really needed it, wink, wink) by rubbing his shoulder. Indeed, Gerry is an astute observer, and I suspect certain women are being "tested," as it were. (I hope they didn't have to drive themselves back to the mansion!)

I get the sense that Gerry is on two missions: Find a new love, of course; but also do as much as he can to make each woman feel not just special to him, but to realize they are viable, vibrant, and vital women who deserve romantic love, with him or someone else.

I love the moniker Grandzaddy Gerry! It combines his age, family status, and romantic viability. And I have to backtrack on my thinking of him as more or less vanilla---because I forgot about that Vanilla Icing Smooch!

I wouldn't want your described egotistic player, either. But then I've never been fond of a Straw Man.

Maybe one episode is too soon to characterize, but to me Gairy has little to no swag, no come-hither eyes, no sexy tone (I don't care for his voice). He's all wide-eyed, emotional, even grateful, but without 🔥, IYKWIMAITYD.

I found very interesting the Intro showing Gerry’s first love "journey" from high school to ER, you might say. As a widow I found his emotional honesty a plus. On a shallow note, I liked seeing how Gerry has gone through different "looks" over the years, currently settling on Silver Fox! (I also can't help but wonder what "bacterial infection" his wife contracted that killed her so fast!)

Irish Boyo has stunning eyes to go with his perfect dish! Boastful Guy is ready for a full comeuppance. Dreads Dude serves Gordon the forbidden pasta from a box, FGS! Quidditch---Really, Weird Kid? Of the women, I recall only the burned and jettisoned salmon skin. Oh, and the Vegan "Scallops" by a non-Vegan chef for another non-Vegan chef. Ramsey Executive Christina is from about 15 miles from me. Glad to have watched her first steps to success! ETA: If you watch the final 5 seconds of the Preview and see Chef Ramsey slap "something" onto the head of his Maitre-d', I think you can figure out what exactly is in the Mystery Boxes!

These Gerry-atrics ** (see what I did there? 😊) are a hoot! I liked Granny with the Walker, haha! And WTH did the Black woman say that was obscured?! It is a tad depressing for me, though, to see all these fit old broads, as at 73 11/12, my weight is inversely proportional to my hair. (And I don't have much hair! 🤫😄) **ETA: Wait, what? He pronounces "Gerry" as "Gary"? Never mind (tm Emily Litella). ETA 2: First 🌹 goes to a brunette with "a beautiful voice" who makes Ole Gerry/Gary "feel special." Mes amis, this is a man who married his high school sweetheart. Early and decisive. I think we have seen not only the First Impression 🌹, but also the Final 🌹💍.

Tuesday, 9/26, was the first episode this season. Am I misunderstanding your "second show" reference?

I cannot abide the new female cop! OMG! Afraid of going to the home of a murderer in a WPP situation. Stares stupefied at people. Totally incompetent at interviewing on-scene witnesses. Always wears a befuddled expression. Get rid of this totally unfit for service dame! New guy is fair to middling. He'll do. As in many police series, the coroner is the much-needed comic relief.

At almost 74, I for one am going to enjoy every catty, Botoxed, cringe-worthy moment! Meow! 🐈‍⬛ 😄 The GB isn't my physical "type," but I can agree that he's handsome. 👍 Kidding aside, I hope widower Gerry finds new and true love. 💘 I will see you, mes amis, on September 28th! 🤗 🌹

IDK, I'm kind of getting bored with VDV, Amsterdam scenery or no (I first visited in 1973 and was enchanted. The fourth and last time, not so much.). I'll hang in there, though, for Marc Warren and the Smart-Alec Pathologist [See: Pathologist, Every TV Crime Show].

Mimi FTW! Oh, right. The designers. So how could Laurence not have planned her collection ages ago? I didn't see "the dark side of Paris." I really liked Brittany's collection---for what it was. I could see Kim K in one piece, her sister Kendall in another. But popular or not, Active Wear doesn't strike me as Haute Couture. Bishme had a cohesive collection, one with a theme that was carried by the styles and colors. Dollars to doughnuts says that the silhouette as the gown's bodice was of his sister. Bishme deserved the win, IMO!

Season 8 is up at my link above. I don't recall these couples, so maybe this is a new showing, even if out of sequence. It begins with Episode 3, alas.

Wow. Laurence plagiarized AN ENTIRE COLLECTION! 😱 Brittany ripped off the Michelin Man! 😆 Bishme's was Batgirl when she's at home. 🦇 And then there was Rami. Rami, Rami, Rami. He needs to use words in accord with their common usage, because his descriptions of what he is making, what he hopes to make, and what he does make make no sense. 🤷‍♀️ But as the only one who really attempted an architectural reference, his Aufing was ironic.
