  1. Did Trista and Ryan tape that show before their vow renewal or after?
  2. She'd gone "out West to look for more brood mares" according to Gracie. So Helena won't have to worry about her soon/ at all
  3. Agreed. Kira's creation was out of their control - so not intended or initially desired, but Ethan Duncan and Dyad would take her existence as a happy accident ripe for study. Which makes me very afraid for her future. I'm unspoiled, but I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Kira ends the season staying at the Dyad center after some kind of hand-forcing on Sarah.
  4. Demien Bichir took part in a Variety actors roundtable.
  5. My Emmy nom expectations are low for Hannibal with lots of competition and it being a short-season, low-rated show, but it's at least getting some love as the ballots go out: http://tvline.com/gallery/emmys-2014-best-drama-series-dream-nominations-contenders/#!3/emmys-hannibal/ http://tvline.com/gallery/emmys-2014-best-lead-actor-drama-series-dream-nominations-contenders/
  6. Except that Paul probably was just a hitman and didn't know the true nature of his targets.
  7. I interpreted Tony's between-the-legs comments as only implying that Sammy never cared about Tony being transgender and that they were best friends and not implying more than that. As for Paul, I think he does care about/ love? Sarah. In S1 when he has to report to Olivier after he and Sarah had had sex, he said that she was different, that the sex with "Beth" was passionate. I think he never fully connected with Beth. It was years, 2 years?, of playing the good boyfriend but never loving her. We know from Alison, Art, and Cosima that Beth's personality was very different than Sarah's and that Paul told SarahasBeth that he liked some of the differences. Their connection late in S1: at Felix's, Paul bringing gifts for Kira, etc. seemed very genuine. So while I think Sarah ought to be cautious of GhostPaul when he reappears, I think the message from Tony was meant to reveal his true intentions, and it's very possible that he is a bad-turned-good-turned-bad-turned-good guy who wants to help Sarah.
  8. I was definitely unsure when he showed up at the farm. I'm not even sure if he even knew that the "cowboy" who was killed at the diner was part of that group. I know he's had a couple of run-ins with Mark, but I don't remember when the first was. I like Art. He's come a long way from just thinking he had to cover for Beth's "tweaker ass" as she shot a civilian in a haze, and Clone Club needs all the trustworthy people with useful skills they can get.
  9. The Tony plotline and character felt too shoe-horned in and rushed. Maybe it wasn't practical to carry him over to the next episode, but it just felt like too much plot development, character development and clone lore for those scenes, like there was a big checklist of things to reveal or show and not enough time in them. Forgive me if this has been mentioned -- I've read this ep topic in spurts so maybe I missed it, but was it explained why Sarah said Helena was fine or thought she was fine? Did she assume she was still in jail? She'd asked Art to check, but why would she even think that Helena being in jail would turn out fine knowing Helena?
  10. From 1.04, when Alison is going to stand in for Sarah to see Kira. Felix: "Holy shit, we need to pull a full-reverse Pygmalion here"
  11. OMG - did you see the Kickstarter-like levels for purchasing particular quantities of books??? A skype session or dinner with them??? What if one buys all the copies -- accompanying them on their honeymoon or officiating their wedding?
  12. I'm in. The trailer and the other preview clips looks good. I'd love the possibility of a Grimm-Constantine-Hannibal night but know that that's unlikely. It would make for a good thematic block (and some good live/delayed viewing).
  13. Talk about a messy break up ...
  14. They've left Hannibal's backstory underdeveloped. I think all that's been mentioned is that he had a sister Mischa who died. Nothing about country of origin, nothing about parents, etc. I guess they could make him from Fictionalstan.
  15. Although the plan was sped up with regard to Mason and derailed with regard to Freddie, it was all predicated on the idea that Jack and Will could catch Hannibal in the act of attempting to murder, but not succeeding in the actual murdering, even though they didn't know the time, place, or means in advance, and the assumption that they'd get sufficient evidence as well as cooperation from the intended victim, and that through that attempt, they could then not only have that crime to pin on him, but then be able to pin a host of past murders on him. I don't have a better plan, but I think their plan was contingent on too many factors out of their control to be likely to succeed.
  16. Well, with Will's S1 finale attempt on Hannibal, Jack didn't share Will's knowledge of Hannibal's guilt. So of course he should have prevented Will from killing Hannibal who wasn't armed at the time so it couldn't have even have been claimed to be in self defense by Will (although with Hannibal, does he really need to be armed to be considered "unarmed" after some of the stuff we've seen him do?). Hannibal is absolutely 100% responsible for his actions. Independent of that, Jack and Will's plan was ill-fated from the get-go.
  17. I really enjoyed After the Wedding and A Royal Affair. The Hunt and Flame and Citron are in my Netflix queue; I've been hestitating with The Hunt because I think it will be too gut wrenching. My admiration for Mads as an actor knows its bounds though: months ago I quit Pusher about an hour in and haven't gone back to it.
  18. For anyone looking for some Mads during the long wait until season 3: I watched Adam's Apples on netflix yesterday and would recommend it. It's a Danish dark comedy and Mads plays a role verrrrry different than Hannibal.
  19. He's a fool if he thought even for a second he could outsmart Hannibal. Did the FBI ever try good old surveillance (yeah, yeah, secret tunnels, I know) or other non-entrapments means?
  20. He did have a couple of body wounds and his nose was bleeding, but it worked for me that he came out mostly unscathed. Jack, Will, and Alana were on his territory, and he had more weapons - literally and figuratively - in his reach. Alana, who wasn't an agent, never stood a chance of hurting him, and Will let Hannibal close enough to gut him. Only Jack put up a real fight and he was the only one who did any real physical damage to Hannibal. On a related note, if the effects were at all realistic, Jack, who had a neck wound, might make it, but Abigail, who had blood spurting out of her neck, is a goner. Btw, who did Hannibal feed to Bedelia last finale when we speculated about her eating Abiveal? ETA: On rewatch, Jack's neck did some spurting too, and the blood on Hannibal's shirt may have been mostly Jack's from the knife in the hand.
  21. Who would have guessed that Bella might outlive Jack, Alana, and Will? I don't think they'll all die, but I expect at least one to.
  22. Fishburne is an executive producer of Black-ish, along with Anthony Anderson. I'm sure he can make the schedule work, especially as Hannibal presumably won't start filming S3 for quite a while, given that it's not fall premiere.
  23. Great cataloging of the quotes, Electric Boogaloo! Last night's ep was just cracking with good dialogue.
  24. that what she seemed to imply, although it's hard to imagine a scenario in which tiny, delicate Dr du M cuts a guy's tongue out...only on this show, I guess.
