Add me to the group partially siding with the dispatcher. First of all, there's no such thing as a stop that's just going to take a few seconds. Allowing the customer to have an extra stop for free could have screwed up the schedule for the rest of the day, in addition to allowing the customer to get something for nothing. The customer is rarely right. Unfortunately, they all have been told over the years that BS mantra about being right, which has made them prey on employees who are just doing their jobs.

One of my favorite MM smack downs came during a case in which the defendant was a lawyer AND a doctor. He was as insufferable as you'd think. She called him sweetie, and he took umbrage with that and insisted she refer to him as doctor. He told her to watch herself when she was tossing him out of the courtroom. He also said that if Douglas touched him she'd be in trouble. To which MM said (this is the point where I fell in love with her): "If Douglas pounds you to a pulp I'd be delighted." Corrections: She called him honey. And it was "beats you to a pulp." Here's the link: http://youtu.be/OfDVmx5zdyk

That was one of the worst wrong responses I've seen in a while. I couldn't even root for her after that!

I'm now in the market for a 'No Parking' sign to put in my driveway. Based on the trio of personal injury lawyers with 60 years of experience amongst them, they can apparently park in my driveway since there's no sign there saying they can't. That was a well-deserved smack down by MM. Has a lawyer ever come off well in her courtroom? She seems to eat them alive. They can't all be as moronic as the ones I've seen on TPC.

I just finished reading "The Girl on the Train," by Paula Hawkins (great read, btw). Anyway, the description of the girlfriend taking a bat to her own car and then completely forgetting about it sounded like something the main character in that book would do. If you drink to the point where you don't remember something like bashing your own car, you may have a drinking problem. Despite her horrific grammar, I could also see why the defendant in the second case had so much disdain for her father. I can't, however, condone her taking anything from him if she knows that's how he is. If he was a shitty father, that really sucks. But you're in your thirties now and a parent yourself. Finish your $60 a month school (I wish JJ had asked her what school), get your shit together, and move on. If dad is that much of a jerk, then leave him alone. The best revenge is living well. Believe me.

I've been in corporate America for almost two decades and have never had off on MLK day, unless I took a vacation day. That may not be so surprising to you since I live in Arizona, the last state to recognize it as a holiday, but this even goes back to my time in Pennsylvania.Eta I have a coworker who suggested I should be off for MLK day. Not all of us. Just me. I'm the only black person in my office. Yeah, that was an HR complaint I ended up filing against her. She seriously thinks it's just a black holiday? Some people. Don't get me wrong; I'd love to have it as a day off, but for everyone. I'm also a veteran who's never had off for Veterans Day.

Seconded. The episodes where she hears more than two cases always feel off for me. It's like a drive-through version of justice, and we usually don't get hallterviews, which feature some of my favorite JJ moments. What's frustrating for me is that I've seen her spend an entire episode on a case that totally didn't warrant it. I hate when interesting cases get short shrift.

This episode was just okay for me. I was more bothered by the end of it, but it did have some laugh-out-loud moments for me. Jack singing, "I'm bringing booty back!" was hysterical. I thought Rainbow was strong, but I always do. Her discussion about MLK being called a doctor just like she is was funny to me. I liked the Charles and Diane part as well. I'd like to see more of their relationship with each other. I thought everything went downhill once they reached the ski lodge. All of that fell flat for me.

While I loved the episode, there's something in this review I need to address. Many religious scholars, gay and straight, don't believe the Bible condemns homosexuality. That this reviewer says so definitively that it does is bothersome to me.

Luscious may have named his club Leviticus because of the plethora of rules in that particular book, and he probably believes that it condemns gay people. But this reviewer should be more careful to point out that that's one interpretation and there are others who disagree vehemently. As a gay Christian, I just wanted to point that out.

The owner of the killer pit bulls also had the requisite neck tattoo. She's just the epitome of bad decisions.

He accepted "Hall" for Michael C. Hall without a BMS prompt, so I'm over being surprised at what gets accepted now.

I used to belong to a private club in my hometown. But you didn't BYOB. They were allowed to stay open later than bars, so most people would go there after the club/bars closed. Those were back in the days when I could party all night and go to work in the morning. I can't even imagine doing that now!

Was there a new episode today? Mine usually come on at 6:30 here, but my dvr didn't record one. I did get the RV hooptie case. Was that new? Sorry if my post broke protocol. I'd like an ask the mod thread. I like to snark as much as the next poster, but I'm a little gun shy because I don't want to offend anyone.

My mother wears one because her hair is almost completely gone. I guess I'm sensitive because I know my time will probably come as well. It seems like whenever we get a litigant who's wearing one it becomes the entire topic of discussion. I got my hand slapped for pointing out someone was really overweight, so I'm lost as to what's fair game and what's not on these boards.
-
Wow. I had no idea it was such a crime to wear a wig. Am I really surrounded by anti-wiggites? Seriously, hair care isn't easy for all of us, and there's nothing wrong with wearing a wig. Some of us can't just wash and go out the door. There's also nothing wrong with changing one's eye color if one desires to do so. I'm sure it's not only African-Americans who do that. Anyway, I thought Romance looked nice. I thought she was a hot mess because of her actions and attitude, but I thought she was attractive, certainly more so than our average JJ litigant.

I'm a bit late to this discussion (much like the bride and groom were late to their own wedding). I don't t think the bride emphasized that point enough. If the limo was late to begin with, then the clock should have started when it arrived. It may not have mattered since everyone was running on CP time (I can say that because they're my people too).

Maybe Evan's mom was there and Alex didn't want her complaining to the media that Alex didn't properly console her child.

You can't sign your loan over to someone else. You can have them make the payments on your behalf, but the other person would have to refinance it in order for you to be free of the deal and responsibility. That's why JJ criticized the agreement the plaintiff swore she created based on the police's suggestion. You can't sign away liability for something you own.Loans are made based on the applicant's credit history, length of employment, etc. So no bank is going to just let you sign over your loan to another person, since the bank made the deal based on your history, not someone else's.

That was the line of the night for me, in an episode that had a lot of lines I liked. It hit me deep, in a way that made me say "damn"
-
I liked it a lot, especially the music. Taraji was amazing, and I've always liked Terrence Howard. I'm interested to see how this did in the ratings. It definitely felt like an 80s soap opera to me, which I love.

Yup. It was $4,300. That case was unbelievable. She does him this HUGE favor, and he steals his dead mother-in-law's appliances. Real cases, real people indeed. You can't make this stuff up! That dude with the shakes certainly got the camera operator's attention. Did you see them pan all the way up and down him as he was shaking life a freaking leaf? To be fair, if I knew I was soon to be a recipient of JJ's ire, I'd probably shake until I pissed myself and then passed out. But, I don't break most of JJ's rules for living in America, so I needn't worry too much about that.

Regarding today's new episode, aren't you supposed to run a background check BEFORE you let a stranger you met on Craigslist move into your home??? I still don't get why he felt the need to call the guy's parole officer. What a jackass.

I didn't get the chance to catch this one yesterday. Are they still running re-runs?

I wanted JJ to go harder at that mother. Seriously, living off your daughter's SSI when the daughter seems capable of handling herself and the mother seems capable of working. I'm glad the daughter met a man who saw the mess that was going on and stepped in. My opinion would be different if he didn't have a job, but since he said he's working and just wanted them to stop stealing the daughter's money, I'm cool with him. They do both seem a bit challenged and, like JJ, I question the wisdom of them bringing a child into the world. But that child will probably be better off than most litigants' kids are. I'm glad to have new episodes!

I have two banks: a local credit union and USAA. I recommend USAA to anyone who qualifies. My CU does have a minimum balance, but I think it's only $25. My point was more about people who've messed up bank accounts in the past. It can be a huge pain for them to even get an account, much less get one without a minimum balance. You get in that Telechex system (even if it's due to no fault of your own), and it's a freaking nightmare to get out of.
