Agreed. Roman was given the task of "giving her the heads up" that her firing was coming, but it wasn't a done deal. That was my impression too. Seriously, they should create a special category for this episode, so no one else has to compete with it. I'm going to have the theme song in my head for weeks after they sweep the drama category off this episode.

Rey just needs to wait 15 years, and a few animated series to flesh out her character, maybe she'll one day receive Hayden Christensen's hero's welcome back to the franchise.

I just saw the announcement, and so many Star Wars projects have been canceled, that my feeling is: I'll believe it when I see it. Still, I think this is the first time one of the projects has had an actor attached, so maybe it might actually come to fruition this time!

I feel like this episode was a fevered dream Stefan pitch from SNL. This episode has everything! Jack Black, Lizzo, forbidden interspecies romances invaded by privateers, kicking robots, space croquet, Doc Brown as a Count Dooku cultist... I was kind of surprised that Mando just let Lizzo babysit Grogu all episode. That planet was weird as hell. -
Brian Cox seemed so legitimately baffled by the remark that I wonder if it was an adlib.

Kerry's wrath doesn't have any actual bite though. Her power hinges on her influence over Logan, and since Logan was the one who made the call, and Greg is only doing the bidding, there's really nothing she can do besides hurl insults and empty threats. Logan, on the other hand, could legitimately end Greg if he wanted to. Greg went to the Tom Wamsgans School of the Fall Guy will Eventually be Rewarded (...maybe)

Agreed, but Auli'i is in the unique position where she hasn't quite aged out of the Moana role, so I would take it! Moana had a great cast.

I'm actually surprised they didn't adapt Kirigan's mad scientist Vladim(?) to be involved in the creation of jurda parem, since we actually saw him synthesizing amplifiers all season.

Roman hasn't had his chance to be properly betrayed yet. Kendall had his dance with the devil in seasons 1 and 2, and Shiv took her turn in seasons 2 and 3. Logan has never taken Roman seriously, but I think he's starting to recognize his potential, so has convinced himself he's the new "chosen one." But Logan has impossible expectations, and Roman will eventually fail to meet them, and will get tossed out too. Logan's biggest mistake when it comes to Roman, though, is that he's planning on cutting Geri out, and he probably won't be able to hold Roman's loyalty without her. I'm wondering if Kendall thinks he's being a young Logan. Mattson is trying to intimidate them from fighting a deal, and Logan has typically been the one to get the last word in negotiations. Now Kendall is trying to step in to do the same.

This actually is book material. It was just a clunky transition from the Shadow and Bone trilogy into the Six of Crow duology, because we see all the effort that Alina, a living saint, went through to attain so much power, and then they immediately they went "Psych! Have you considered drugs?"

How I Met Your Father - General Discussion
absnow54 replied to BetterButter's topic in How I Met Your Father
The random cuts to him planning the wedding were hilarious. I'm guessing this season will end with their wedding. No, this was the midseason finale. I actually don't mind the balance they've struck with Sid's wife. When we see her, she's likeable enough, and their relationship seems worth the effort, for now. I think they hitched Sid so that he wouldn't be an obvious love interest right away. However, I don't think they should pair him with Sophie, if anything they should pair him with Valentina. They had great chemistry in a few episodes last season. -
I wondered this about Tom as well, because giving Shiv the "heads up" about him and Naomi meeting was totally unnecessary. I think he was trying to tank the Pierce deal for his own gain, either because he thought it was a bad investment and couldn't say that to Logan's face, or he was worried it'd dilute the importance of ATN in the Waystar portfolio, and therefore his role in the company.

I thought it was interesting to see Logan's ennui, as cutting out his kids means he's only surrounded by sycophants who have too much on the line to ever challenge him. I liked the contrast of him asking someone in the room to tell a joke, while across the country, the Roy siblings were as crass as ever in their humorous digs at one another. He misses his little morons.

I don't mind them doing Six of Crow as a standalone, but I think they could certainly adapt the Ravka characters into the Six of Crow storyline similar to how they weaved the Crows into the first season. It would just be odd to suddenly make Alina a supporting character, though. The Ravka story has gone so off the rails, that I don't think they could just pick back up with the King of Scars duology, without some finesse in between.

Tom wasn't wearing his ring when he was out in public, including Logan's birthday, but put it back on when he was at home. Shiv had her ring on the whole episode.

S01.E10: Track 10: Rock N Roll Suicide

Yes, I really enjoyed the revelation that Eddie's long suffering "good guy" shtick never paid off. He made a good point about always bending to Billy's whim, but then when he was no longer under Billy's shadow, and could no longer blame him for his mediocrity, he still never made a name for himself. And for all his "devotion" to Camila, he didn't go to her funeral. I'm surprised he did the documentary, because he came off pretty terrible in the end. I did not see his character going in that direction at all! I seriously thought he'd be the devil on their shoulder to make things interesting. I loved him. And it seemed like in his final scene he was discovering another act to set up for a spinoff, which I would watch for him. I thought the overall story was kind of weak, but Riley Keough was excellent in the role, and her chemistry with Sam Claflin was lightning in a bottle. They really sizzled in all of their "let's eat this microphone together" performances.- 49 replies

The men’s competition was fire! I was on the edge of my seat. Ilia needs to hire Jason Brown for his coaching team, because those component scores were yikes! He barely cracked 80 points, when everyone else in that league were 90+

Yeah, I wonder if "Whatever Team Russia Called themselves in 2022" will get disciplined for the doping and have to come up with a new "Not-Team Russia" name. Hopefully WADA will intervene and handle all drug testing for those athletes, instead of letting it filter through RUSADA again.

I did a rewatch of season 1 right before season 2 was released, and just made it through the season 2 episodes. There was a very obvious drop in quality between the two seasons. The season 1 story is still silly, but it's a fairly tight story. Everything seemed to weave together so that the final episode felt like a legitimate payoff, and the pacing within each episode was well done. Season 2 felt like they were told they were very likely to be canceled, so they just threw all of the spaghetti at the wall, and let it land where it land. Was there fan service? Yes. Was there epic meme worthy material? The best. I'm still laughing at the 10 minute scene of random extras seeing who could spit their blood capsule the furthest, in front of a stain glass window that looked like a preschool art project. But I would never seriously recommend this season to a friend with the promise that it's good. I don't care if this show gets a season 3, but I really hope they get the green light on the Six of Crows adaptation, because the casting for the Crows is just so fantastic, and they're obviously the only storyline that the showrunners care about.

Last season Cain and Leduc were close to getting two US teams on the podium, but then Cain had that awful concussion. In Ladies news, Isabeau just missed the podium, and both Bradie and Amber fell out of the Top 10, so I think the US will only get 2 slots next year, unless they earn a third spot through outside channels (I think Ashley Wagner did this in the past.)

Way to go Ilia! Even with his quad, it’ll be tough to top Shoma, but he’s in decent position for it. His short has really improved this season.
