I agree, Jill was in this major run around for seasons 6-7. Especially after the talk show episode in season 7, I mean they should have graduated Jill that season. Instead they pulled it another FULL SEASON. Ditching Illene because the producers thought: "Married Al will stop storylines" proved to be utter crap. Guess they were also anti-Spider-Man marriage people too.
-
Yeah, while we didn't see a season 9, it was pretty evident if the show didn't end in season 8, things would have dragged to where it got real sad.
-
I think also Barbara was kicking herself for bringing Sam back into their lives like that. I mean when she went into the whole: "I tried contacting you off and on for a decade and you just show up." Of course as Sam put it: "The fact you went back to Blue Valley made me realize something was going on." Yeah, no keeping Mike out now, especially when Jordan gave the order with his: "Can't leave a legacy."
-
Plus at that time, the actress was busy with other projects, I mean for some dumb reasons the producers loved her for some stupid popular reason (something that still happens with shows today). However, I know later on both the actors and some of the writers were: "We should have just not brought her back after Carter's sign off."

Right and Zachary Ty Bryan was planning on leaving the show and going to college after season 8, but was going to show up when he was home from school. Since he was going to school locally, he would have had part status if there would have been a season 9. The producers were really hoping that having the twin neices and Marty and moving Jeff and Carrie into more ongoing rolls was going to infuse the show to continued. They always planned on Al and Trudy getting married and Jill graduating and starting her practice in season 9. However, when they decided that Tim was going to be a much bigger raise than Patricia, that's when Tim Allen called it quits, because he didn't see it as fair. The way things were going, I highly doubted that Jonathan Taylor Thomas would have returned to the show since there were so many fights going on between JTT, the Producers, Tim Allen and JTT's agent/manager. Meaning they would have focused completely on freshman year Mark and the twins. I could have so seen the show's ratings tanking in season 9 if it would have happened.

Not only that, but when he was talking about living with his mom still. She seem to go from Kirk living rent free to: "Either pay for this shit or go sleep in the gazebo up town." Which of course he did a handful of times. So, was Kirk buying the basics with his money and living rent free? Or was he getting away with what he could unless his mother DEMANDED he paid for things. Plus, for a woman who apparently wanted Kirk to live on his own, she sure had an odd way of trying to kick him out.
-
It was the same with Kirk's hundreds of jobs or his family background. It got to the point not only was it a reoccuring joke, but it also got to the point, WHY would anyone want to HIRE Kirk for these jobs. He basically wanted to be Taylor, but then went about doing things that were much, much worst than Taylor. AS-P also said the character was based on someone in the town she grew up in. Who worked several places, but not all together or the fact it was several months apart. Kirk was at a new job EVERY SINGLE WEEK. Including jobs he would have had to be in the running for in process of getting licensed or certified for. He even pointed out being the mail carrier in season 4 and also being a real estate agent (which was plain impossible) on how hard the tests were. Sean Gunn is 4 years older than me (I'm 42), when the show first started it made sense of some guy in his late 20/early 30 still trying to get himself together. Especially when the depicted him as the town idiot who was not only a mama's boy, but apparently sheltered as a kid. However, even with the revival, married and in his early 40s. He STILL was not set in any job and still trying to be be like Taylor. Then talking about how Lulu wanted kids now, when she was pushing 40 and he was IN his 40s. Saying they basically got married after the show ended even if AS-P and her husband wanted to act like season 7 never happened. Especially Lulu who was an established grade school teacher. IT made them both come off as backwards to the world.

There was also suppose to be some reveal on WHY Tim was never made an executive producer of Tool Time, but it never came out as a logical explaination. Plus, Willow was dropped from the show because the writers were unable to write any material from her after her initial episodes. They couldn't figure out where to take a character who flaked herself through life could go.
-
Plus, she had more than one kid, hence the cycle was really broken.
-
The problem was and I know she didn't want to go into detail, but needed to add: "He conned people, went to prison, ect."

I have to say, I enjoyed Pat's reactions to meeting Courtney's biological father more here than in the comics. I felt he was too: "Well, I'm not getting in the middle of this." Even though the All-Stars #4 Comic had Pat pretty much saying: "Feels good to throw your butt in jail."
-
Right on both parts. Yep, Sam Curtis, horrible person, who "charmed" women with his good looks and snake oil pitches. Oh, that explains why Geoff Shults played him. As for poor Justin, proves that Project New America is not going to go well for the ISA.
-
Like mother, like daughter, yet Lane broke the cycle.
-
Right due to filming and deals the CW has with Vancouver. Happy to hear as of right now, they want to stick with filming in Georgia.
-
Which is what happens and then later on the person is completely about the making everything better for themselves. Everyone else just becomes circumstancial. However, as I put it, why Barb didn't tell Courtney the truth a long time ago really is confusing. Now after all this, Barb is kicking herself.
-
Happy to see they are planning Season 2 early, but also the fact that they made sure things were open ended. Also, good to hear that his brother is working on the opposite end with MCU films, though how they are trying to film final episodes or "new seasons" is so up in the air right now.
-
Sam is the classic absent dad. He had good intentions, but still fell into: "It's all about me!" attitude. It be interesting if they ever explain how he got to where he was. Pat punching him is long, long over due. Oh Barbara, don't you know you NEVER look up personal searches on a work computer or LEAVE your email open. Plus, I'm actually happy Barb felt worst after everything happened, because honestly, she should have told Court a long time ago that Sam was an asshole.
-
Even showing how stupid it was that Anna NEVER TOLD Luke because he made a comment about kids being annoying. She had it translate to: "He hates children, he will never accept having his own." WTF?
-
Yes, it seems to be true. Many want to say: "Well, you weren't there." However, when you look at a constant history of this, it makes plenty of sense.
-
It also paints more that Barbara "specifically" didn't want Courtney knowing about Sam. It also adds in more Sam knowing about Blue Valley as they apparently met there and as we saw in the flashback when her and Pat met. She was there because she was selling her mother's house and saying she had "died" a few years ago. Since we saw grandma Whitmore in the pilot. Something the comics also never talked about was Barb's family background outside of grandma. The way they have talked about it and shown, it seems Barbara had father issues herself.

Past Seasons Talk: From Seattle Grace to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital
readster replied to maraleia's topic in Grey's Anatomy
Right, poor Matt Long, always liked him as an actor, but ABC would give him a show and then it either got cancelled or WOULD BE cancelled for ratings. -
As a fan of the comic book and characters, those are glaring and also fall into "TV drama" aspect. I mean you just don't repeat: "No, Starman wasn't your father." You have to explain, give reasons and hell Barabra could have even said: "Because I know where he is and I've been in contact with him over the past few years!" I was very, very they kept that Mary was Henry's mother, I also loved that aspect and that Henry Sr did have some humanity left in him instead of: "humanity bad!"

All Episodes Talk: Lorelai and Rory and the People They Love
readster replied to solotrek's topic in Gilmore Girls
Well, not to mention that Lorelai was like: "Magically I will NEVER EVER... EVER have to go back to my parents again. Thank you unknown buyer who just gave me $75K. Fuck you mom and dad and the past three years!" Sorry, if I got $75K right now, I wouldn't be just handing it to one person. I take out my ALL of my bills, put money to my son and keep the rest for any future businesses, house repairs or emergency money. But not Lorelai, it was: "Now, now, now, let's go out and eat and drop $50." -
Past Seasons Talk: From Seattle Grace to Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital
readster replied to maraleia's topic in Grey's Anatomy
No kidding and this from a woman who apparently married "a man" so he would have health insurance and because she "loved him" and then was broken up when he died. But forget that, I mean Teddy apparently went to men because her "true love" died in 9/11. Kind of like how Callie went for men constantly until Eric Hunn "opened her eyes" to love. Especially when Hunn even told Christina: "I prefer men." As rubbing it to her that she couldn't sleep with her like she did with past teachers. -
I'm very happy they kept that fact that Sly is Henry Jr's uncle. That also makes it more personal for both Pat and Courtney.
