  1. And Jacob and Erik from O-Town! If only Dan was there...and how could we forget Jeff from 98 Degrees. I too am a grown woman. But 90's boybands are still my jam!!
  2. Obviously YMMV, and all that junk, but this actually makes sense to me. Alek seems like the kind of person who thrives on helping people (I don't know him - just basing this on interviews that I've seen and articles that I've read). Which is likely why he joined the army, and was attending college to become a police officer (and from what he's said, this is still his plan for the future), So I'm sure that serving in Afghanistan was a huge honor for him. And I'm sure it felt pretty damn good for him to see his family and friends when he returned from there as well. As for the train attack, that was in the middle of a Europe vacation, which was probably pretty amazing for him. And the terrorism attempt itself is awful. For sure not something to be celebrated...however, thanks to the incredible bravery of himself, Spencer, Anthony, and Chris Norman, that act of terrorism did NOT occur. A few people got injured which is awful, and I'm sure it caused emotional trauma for some people (understandably), but no one died. That, to me, is something that should be celebrated. He had a hand in stopping an act that could've killed many innocent people. He seems very humbled and appreciative of all the accolades/awards/honors being bestowed. But I don't it's because he's all "famous" now, Again, I think he truly takes pride in helping people. So for the reasons above, and maybe even more (don't forget that that package was edited to fit with the show...perhaps he has other reasons as to why he would call 2015 the best year of his life), I can completely understand why he would call 2015 the best year of his life. I will likely never accomplish in my entire life what he has managed to accomplish in less than a year. Just to keep this somewhat on topic, i think I hopped in a time machine last night, and went back to when I was 13, because I was freaking out during Nick's performance. That was some damn fine nostalgia!! Not at all surprised that Bindi's performance got the pimp spot and the first 10 of the season, but to me, it was warranted. That dance was stunning, and I (along with many other people, I'm sure) cried watching it. I would not be mad if Paula went home next elimination. Just saying.
  3. Admittedly, I don't know much (aka anything) about dancing, but I thought the paso doble was supposed to be kind of a stoic and serious dance. So I too thought the facial expression fit. I could not be happier that Lindsay is his partner. It looks like she was there for him this week, and helped him though it. They are an amazing partnership. (So not looking forward to the switch up next week...) And I thought they delivered a great dance. As spanana said, there was a lot of content in it, and he continues to impress. Especially the whole "walking across the floor on his knees" thing. My jaw dropped. I'm worried that the judges underwhelming response might hurt him. Hopefully not, because I really want to see Alek headed for the finals.
  4. Oh gosh, I hope not. I'm sure they will definitely mention it, and address it, but hope that it is not exploited in any way. I'm sure Alek feels awful enough about all of this. Hopefully they have some damn compassion...
  5. I'd like and combination Nick/Sharna, Alek/Lindsay, Carlos/Witney, Binda/Derek, Alexa/Mark. But the first two are the ones I most want to see there. Been a Nick fangirl since I was like 12, and 18 years later, nothing has changed! And he has quite impressed me so far, especailly his last two dances. Also, I adore Sharna. And Alek has been INCREDIBLE. What a great student, and Lindsay's teaching/choreography is fantastic. And I adore her as well. I wanted to include Tamar/Val in there, but something about her just bugs...she's an amazing dancer, but the disconnect with Val is pretty glaring with me. And the way they are editing her is not funny or cute to me. Just aggravating.
  6. Nick's new song "I Will Wait" is now out. Has anyone else checked it out? It's actually a really lovely and gorgeous song, and his voice sounds great in it! And to keep this DWTS related, his waltz this week had me swooning the same way I did at the last Backstreet Boys concert I went to...which was last May. And I'm not ashamed of any of that!
  7. Well I've heard more about her in the past month than I ever had before. So I guess mission accomplished for her? (Sucks for the rest of us though...)
  8. According to TMZ, he and Lindsay were rehearsing when he got the news about the shooting, and he left right away. (I know...TMZ is not exactly the most refutable source...) And as Uke stated, he tweeted that he would be going home to Roseburg tonight. Thoughts and prayers to all affected by the horrible tragedy today. So heartbreaking. ETA: He filmed an interview on Ellen today (apparently set to air on Monday) with Lindsay. They touched briefly on the shooting today. Here is a link where you can watch it: http://www.gossiproundup.com/alek-skarlatos-discusses-ucc-school-shooting-on-ellen/
  9. This. And this. I am so charmed by Alek. He is very handsome, and also seems like a genuinely sweet, humble, and nice person. And that's pretty sexy to me. And like Carrie Ann said, he can dance. He has certainly been the surprise of the cast for me. And has quickly become one of my favorites. Lindsay has been an amazing partner for him. I am so happy that she is getting the credit that she deserves! And I hope Alek at least makes top 4. To me, so far, he's the whole package! ETA: I'm not even 30 yet (I will be in less than two weeks), but this post still kind of makes me sound cougar-y, right? Apologies to all!
  10. That's so cool! I didn't know Chord's dad wrote that many hit country songs!
  11. How about a Glee showdown? Not the biggest stars like Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison, and Chris Colfer (although the last two have done it), but like Amber Riley, Jenna Ushkowitz, Kevin McHale, Chord Overstreet, Mark Salling, Dianna Agron, Heather Morris, Becca Tobin, Darren Criss (although he's already been on as well), etc or any combination thereof? That could be fun...
  12. He rocked the guyliner in the movie "Girl Most Likely". Looked super hot then...but yeah, not so much with the Hedwig makeup!
  13. Count me in as one who loved both episodes..."The Johnny Karate Super Awesome Musical Explosion Show" was ridiculous and cheesy, but I loved every second of it! And didn't even notice that Tom wasn't in it until the end. And as for "Two Funerals", I LOVED all of the characters who came back (Ethel Beavers! The Sapersteins, especially Jean-Ralphio! Bobby Newport! The Douche with his "My Oral Office"!) And I though Tom's proposal was so sweet, and I love that Garry is the interim mayor! I'm going to miss this show so much :( I'll be relying on my Parks and Rec DVDs a lot to get me through this... (Please tell me I'm not the only one who immediately thought of Serial when they were singing "All My Life"?)
  14. I have been shipping AB and George for quite some time now, despite the fact that it doesn't really make any sense. (Probably because they're my two favorite characters.) However, the fact that the show put so much emphasis on how they're not that close, and their coupling seems so crazy to everyone actually makes it more believable for me. It shows that they don't know each other that well, but now that they're spending some time together, they're starting to see different sides of each other. And I honestly think they are great matches for each other. They're both just really sweet, genuine, caring, funny people, and seem compatible. Also I think Kaitlyn Black and Scott Porter have really great chemistry. Their banter scenes were so cute, and the dancing at the end was great. And Also, I loved how AB figured out why Lemon was playing matchmaker, and that she called her out on it. Great acting by Kaitlyn Black and Jaime King in that scene! Hormonal Zoe was so hilarious! I'm so happy that she and Wade are staying with Lavon, at least for now. He's going to be the coolest Uncle to their baby! And I did quite enjoy the whole Rammer Jammer storyline, and kind of loved that song that was being sung at the end. I would legit buy that on iTunes right now!
  15. I'm just going to throw this out there (and I'm probably in the minority, because there's enough main characters dating main characters on this show, and swapping out), but what about Annabeth and George? I adore both characters, and think they're great matches for each other. And some might say she'd be George's second choice as she would be for Lavon, but since George and AB have never actually been together, she's never had a chance to be his first choice...does that make sense? My apologies if not!
  16. A place to talk about everything country.
  17. I'm an Oilers fan (thank you in advance for your sympathy) and a Kings fan. I sometimes get heck from people for having two number one teams, but the Oilers are my hometown team, and the Kings have a bunch of my favorite players, and I just adore the way they play hockey. I really became a huge Kings fan after the Mike Richards trade.
