  1. I am a little late the party, I just watched the episode last night, but I am guessing that the neighborhood they ended up buying in was in Wahiawa? They were actually really reasonable in their expectations which was nice to see. I think it helped that the guy works on a base so they don't have to worry about the downtown commute and see the prices rise exponentially as they get closer to town. And they actually ended up finding a place way below their budget, that is interesting considering how normally the houses that are shown are usually right at the top of the purchasers' budget. What neighborhood are you in? I want to be able to upsell out of our townhouse but even if you roll-over our HOA into a mortgage at these low rates, we would be tied up in so much debt just to get any SFH here we probably are just going to stay put.
  2. Anyone else think that Jonathan missed out on not having a shower stall in the changing area? I mean it is nice to change out of dirty wet clothes, but is it that useful if you can't rinse off too? I am guessing the French plumbing being allowed for a sink is OK for a shower? Might have cut into the changing room size a little bit, but I think it would have been worth it. And I echo the confusion by the attraction of pergolas, I mean it just feels lazy and incomplete not even having a soft top stretched over it or something. I was a bit surprised that Jonathan didn't do a soft top material to stretch between his random posts he was using to string lights by the dining area. In my development a lot of people use a triangular piece stretched between the house and the carport to shade the lanai, I was thinking something like that could work well in Jonathan's deck in the sitting area. It would be semi-permanent and easy to take down in times of extreme weather. I think that is the tricky thing for a boat slip. I mean it seems useful, but it would either mean the renters would have their own boat, or the owners would be storing their boat there and trust the renters not to wreck the boat while renting/using it and also it would be a pain to maintain for an absentee owner I would think.
  3. I don't know if Wexler confessed because of the leverage because the main concern of the conspirators is the flash drive. And Wexler initially had a upstanding PD representing him, so I think him confessing was a wrench in their plans. I think he just confessed because he actually felt guilt over what he had done, I mean he was pretty distraught in the video tape when he called whomever. And was Wexler connected with FG? Just wondering because a lot of people are saying that the daughter was turned at the picnic, not sure why there is the assumption she would be at the picnic?
  4. LOL I think I heard the swooning all the way here in the middle of the Pacific when Chase was getting spray-tanned. It will be interesting to see if they (conspirators) actually turned Wexler's daughter or if she just happened to be a zombie already and thus the conspirators had some additional leverage over Wexler. The way that Wexler's daughter seemed chill with the other girl makes me think the latter. And I am not sure how they are going to get the motive and everything, but it is obvious that someone high up at FG is behind the Tuttle-Reid murders considering how badly they are trying to frame Harley. And while Ravi might not have been smart to spill the beans to Rachael, what exactly could he say to her regarding what was going on? She saw the existence of at least three real life zombies. Regardless of what Ravi said to her, she already had a story. Of course Ravi filled in the blanks, and depending on what he told her, it might actually be a "better" story than "Oh my god, I just saw three zombies and they just killed a bunch of guys!" type of story. Just my thoughts.
  5. Thought you would have liked the beret but nothing else.;-P
  6. Notice I did make specific mention of his military garb. :-P
  7. The thing is, no one really has any evidence against Major. All the "victims" turned up alive. Even though they had "disappeared", they all "reappeared" at the Max Rager Party. And I am sure none of the "victims" are going to claim they were kidnapped because then it goes to motive and their whole zombie condition would be revealed. The whole thing became just one big dead end, and once all the "victims" turned up alive, I don't know why anyone is still attributing anything to Major. Seriously.
  8. Not to mention the clothes are probably pretty rank. There really is nothing in those packs that would be remotely valuable or of interest to any thief.
  9. I actually think that Joey said that to London. I agree, I almost wish they would ban the contestants from asking strangers or using phones. Can you believe that when TAR first started, using phones to help was not actually possible? Wonder if the producers need to update the rules with the increasing technology advances (along with unlimited data plans, I doubt anyone is going to let people use their phones if they still had to pay $2/MB or whatever). It would be more fun trying to find and use actual maps (like Logan and London did) and then have to find another resource area if they needed it, like a library or something. But I guess things would just get too complicated. Oh well, I will just have to admit there is no way for a perfectly designed show, and I am sure the producers look at all the angles to try to create the most entertaining product possible.
  10. Is there any way for an American in the middle of the Pacific be able to watch?
  11. This is an off-the-top-of-my-head guess, but I am guessing the logistics of finding parking in a major city like Chicago is part of the reason they didn't design the leg as self-driving. Trying to find parking along with the landmarks was probably something the producers felt was not a good idea. Yeah I can't wait until London has her recap to find out WTH happened between getting the third postcard and getting to City Hall. And yeah, they are going to have to do something much different for the final challenge, these memory challenges are becoming too easy for the racers. I thought place of finish would stump them, but obviously they remembered to put that down too.
  12. My bad, I meant to say "over a man", IOW Michael. Seriously Mikey, your "dad" Jacob lied to you about your beloved mommy. This guy who has the most intense, kind eyes ever hugs you tight and tells the weird lady pretending to be mommy to shoot him and leave you alone, and you believe the new guy is the bad guy?
  13. I think that Michael needed at least one of T-Bag or Whip around so they would occupy the assassins and that only Jacob would follow Michael to the staged area. I find it odd that Michael felt like he needed to go through all of this in order to prove he was Michael Schofield. From the way he was describing Poseidon, everyone in the intelligence community knew there was a guy named Poseidon out there (and was Jacob still supposedly officially with the CIA anymore?) and I am sure the Director would have known there was something fishy about Jacob since the Assistant Director was investigating him, did he really have to stage the whole thing over again? Like the Director said, once they talked to the IT guy, he spilled the beans. I guess he was the one that Jacob needed to use to fake the original video, and didn't have any loyalties to the Assistant Director, not like Van Gogh did. Amazing that Poseidon got anything done with those two as his main assets, he should thank his lucky stars that when she shot him in the leg she didn't hit an artery considering how she didn't end up killing Van Gogh. And didn't Michael have all the incriminating files on Jacob? So he was pretty much done for already wasn't he? So Blue Hawaii was a "Master Builder"? As well as being an Elvis Impersonator? And I am sorry, I know Mike is only a kid, but man he is not very bright. Dude, your "dad" left you with a strange lady claiming that was your mom, IOW told you a really big lie, and you still want to believe him over a kid who told a lady with a gun to shoot him instead of you? WTF is wrong with you?! So all that million dollar hand was good for was to do a quick neck breaking on assassin lady?
  14. I never thought about this, but yeah, that would make a lot of sense. But man, if I there was a show to get as a camera guy, this is the one to get, being able to travel and see the world with an occasional day off here and there between work? Sounds like fun!
  15. Well because conservatives seem to forget all the utility infrastructures etc that are government funded (not to mention tax subsidies for various businesses) that everyone uses as they grow up. Of course now they just use their own helicopters to travel to private buildings so they can now claim to no longer even need roads. Of course they probably drill and refine their own oil.
  16. I know Vanck looks more of a D&D type of "gamer" but, have to wonder if he might have been suited for one or both of the Seoul tasks.
  17. Haha...so Team Lolo is so innocuous that even Tara and Joey don't even know they are racing?
  18. I think the key is the lack of physicality in this leg. Everytime she is crying out she can't do it, it is when they are doing something physical. You notice that she is completely spent at time when there is a race to the clue boxes. Of course, she probably had a great flight out to Seoul, I hear Korean Airlines has one of the best economy class seats around.
  19. The problem they ran into was exactly what made the other teams decide to taxi, they had to switch train lines, and it seems like the Gangnam stop was like one of the last stops on the second line. And they ended up missing their connection. I am guessing that cost them 10 minutes easy. Also, the fact these subway terminal stations can be pretty big so the walk to get from one platform to another could have easily ate another 5-10 minutes (including navigating through the crowds and looking at the signs to figure out where to go). As a vacationer, I can see why a subway is better, it is way cheaper and probably not much longer in the long run with traffic, but traffic is really variable in terms of how bad it is, and it was dark already, and IIRC they are filming in the late spring/early summer? So that was pretty late already. Yup button mashing is a time-honored technique for those who don't play often enough to be able to instinctively know which buttons to press based on feel. It is kind of like the difference between someone who is able to use a keyboard without looking and one of those hunt-and-peck typers. For those saying that the smart move would have been to lose ASAP to get the pros to a handicap, that is actually what London's strategy was in her cab interview to the pit stop. That would explain how she ended up getting to the blindfold level before Scott did even though Scott started earlier. The only strategy I could think of was that once they got to the 10 round level and the pros could only use one hand, you could tell they were limited to pretty much two buttons, maybe use the fact they were limited to two attacks to your advantage? But that of course would require you to know how to defend and attack those particular moves correctly. I wonder if a big reason for her toned down attitude was the lack of physical tasks. I would actually disagree. I am not sure how long each team took on the cup stacking challenge, but there was a learning curve, if a team behind is able to pick it up faster, it wouldn't be hard to make up some time there. Kimchee was going to be a pretty static task. And the gaming roadblock was similar to cup stacking, if someone is proficient at gaming, they could have easily cut their time there in half compared to the other teams who needed 20+ rounds. Matt completed the task under 20 rounds and I think Scott was able to complete his in round 19. I am not sure how the ideal leg structure is supposed to go? Are there supposed to be just needle in the haystack tasks where it is completely based on luck? What is an ideal task that allows for people to catch up? This leg in particular, was just in one city, everyone on one flight, and no self-driving. Pretty much ideally for everyone to be bunched and primary differences in time would be relative competency on tasks. That seems to be as ideal as anything and would result in probably the biggest amount of drama at the end of the leg. But Matt and Redmond threw a wrench into the leg design, should the designers somehow put some sort of extra impediment because Matt and Redmond decided to try to outsmart everyone else? Like others have mentioned, this was not a wise move, you are a strong team, you keep with the pack and trust that you will be in the top 3 especially with Brooke and Scott and Team Lolo around. I am guessing they were fixated on winning first and had that as their primary goal, not making the finals. In Vietnam, Becca and Floyd got passed by everyone else, but if Floyd didn't keep dropping baskets, then there really was no catching up anywhere either. And is it fair that it is purely physical tasks so that a physically weaker team would have a lower chance of making up time? Does Street Fighter 5 not have Guile? I would have thought Tara would have wanted the american military guy. And I always thought he was the easiest one to play with the "sonic boom" and "razor kick" being a couple of the easier to execute special combos. For those wondering about the Metro...I think here is a link to the route map for the Seoul Metro. As you can see, Matt and Redmond had a LONG way to go from the Airport to their transit stop at Hongik University, it was the third to the last stop. Then they had to transfer to Line 2 I believe and go to Gangnam which is like over 15 stops away (bottom of the green loop. http://dmzap1.seoulmetro.co.kr/station/eng/linemap.action I looked at the timetable for Hongik University station for Line 2, and it looks like a train came around pretty often, every 5-6 minutes. http://dmzap1.seoulmetro.co.kr/station/eng/trainschedule.action?eng=Y&searchValue=&stationId=0239&mainLine=2&weekTag=3 I don't really have an issue with Logan's description, I mean he is describing flavors that he knows. And in reality, that is kind of what kim chee is, but a lot more sourness because of the fermentation.
  20. It seems like a problem is he can't trust his memory as well. Wonder if it is a terminal condition or result of the head trauma from the beating he got from Shinwell. IIRC he never went to the hospital to get checked out in spite of suffering what looked to be an obvious concussion. But it could be a mental thing, didn't Morland imply that Sherlock's mom had a mental illness? And does Joan know about that? I can understand how some people feel Joan should have thought of other explanations, but we should remember that all she knows is he is sleeping a lot more and seems to be forgetting in an "inconsiderate" manner, not because he actually has no memory of events. If she knew he was hallucinating and completely blanking on doing things, I am sure she would have skipped past drug use to something more medical. @Gregg24 and @CaptainTightpants I am not bent out of shape over the ethical behavior of Joan, it wasn't like the other gang wouldn't have known who to go after once the arrest was made public etc. It would have been a different matter if she just told him who it was and let him rampage through anyone and everyone to get him. Instead she provided him with the best alternative, give me the evidence I need to remove the obstacles in your way. The only way that Joan going to Mara Tres affected Tyus is that it blew up Tyus' plea deal...in other words, Tyus would have gone free and gotten away with murder if Joan didn't go to Mara Tres to get the body back. They have absolutely no control over how things play out in jail. Even if they somehow arrested Halcon, it isn't like he wouldn't be able to put out a hit on Tyus while in jail. They didn't set up Tyus to be killed or anything. She just got the evidence they needed to arrest and convict him. What happens next would have happened regardless of the meeting with Halcon. Of course in court, there is an issue with chain of custody regarding the body and the blood evidence, but I am sure any post-arrest pictures of Tyus will show corresponding bite marks on his body and they can match the bite mark with the victim's teeth, thus providing all the evidence they need to get the conviction. Of course...all the associated evidence regarding his gang ties (all perfectly relevant to show motive of the crime) would have probably made his conviction a slam dunk anyway. @mandigirl actually what Joan did in telling Halcon directly they know who did it in SBK is designed to specifically save lives. An all out gang war would have collateral damage, however, telling Halcon they had exactly who he was looking for and not to mention all the associated gang members would be rounded up as well, that saves lives in the long run. Also, I think that the implication is there was a lot of other evidence outside of just Tyus' testimony to round up the gang. IIRC correctly, the police/DA can't make a case with just the testimony of a co-conspirator (in this case it would be Tyus since he is the admitted head of the organization so an obvious conspirator), I am guessing he told them where all the bodies were buried and the drugs were stashed. This is my take on Watson's anger at Sherlock for not being there, it was because he said he would be there and he wasn't. It was the breaking of the commitment that got her upset. If Sherlock had just said, no, I don't feel comfortable going to the services of a murderer who beat me up, then that would have been fine. And again, she is looking at him not going as just being inconsiderate and rude, especially with no text or call to say he wasn't showing up. And as mentioned above, she wasn't buying his excuse at not remembering. Regarding why Watson still was helping Shinwell, it was pretty simple. They had no evidence to convict Shinwell for the murder of Jameel. The police already said they wouldn't press charges against Shinwell even after Jameel's brother provided the full statement. Actually not sure if this happened, but did this information cause the police to remove him from CI status though, and thus he would be continuing his activities without police support? If that is the case, then the choice was simple for Joan, let Shinwell go at the SBK take down on his own, or help him do it. Either way, he was not going to be convicted of Jameel's murder, so why not help him take down a gang.
  21. Don't worry, I don't hold it against you. :-) Love makes people do and 'ship the weirdest things.
  22. As someone who watched...I think the first few seasons of VM, Jason Dohring's character was always annoying and a pipsqueak to me and never believable as someone that Veronica would fall for. Him showing up in military garb was...unfortunately laughable.
  23. So...how exactly will not providing loan forgiveness, cutting after school care and teacher improvement funding supposed to help the economy? I am sure I missed the economics lesson that says that the economy improves when workers have more debt and need to pay for their child care. And I wonder if Mulvaney can confirm that food doesn't help academics by confirming he starved himself while he was in school. I am so glad that those taxpayers in the multi-million dollar mansions and having all that net worth really need the compassion from the government, because you know we should be worried about how they will pay for their next yacht or luxury condo, and not worry about the families who are starving. So somehow the metric of budget policy is whether or not the government will somehow pay back the taxes to taxpayers or it is considered "theft"? What the hell?! And seriously, I still have no idea how come hard line Tea Partiers are allowed to work in government, I mean their whole purpose is to do away with government right?
  24. The zombie haters going after the helicopter doesn't make sense. Like Clive said, it is really too sophisticated for them. Is Blaine's dad trying to fill the power void at FM? I think they laid the zombie brain a little thick this week, it wasn't something that just occasionally popped up, it was like always on. Is it because she ate such a big chunk of it raw?
  25. Only thing I can think of is that the blood somehow will prove he didn't kill the CIA director. Remember, Poseidon in all his wisdom told Schofield to get rid of the body. And come on, no one at whatever college wonders why a random economics professor needs a facial recognition security system? What a bunch of BS. And I also think Heather is in the pocket of Poseidon. Sorry Jr, if you were smart first thing out of your mouth was to tell the strange man the lady in the room is not my mommy. And what exactly is the motivation for the whatever-21 minions? Do they actually trust Poseidon's grand master plan of regional destabilization? At first I thought they were buying the line that Kaniel Outis was really a terrorist, but now they realize he was under Poseidon's orders...so...WTH? Poseidon has the gall to call him a murderer and terrorist? But he did that all on your orders right?
