Christine Brown Woolley: Nacho Sister Wife Anymore
Dibs replied to Rhondinella's topic in Sister Wives
I'm glad someone else finally sees it. She seems obsessed with "sticking it" to Kody and letting him know how fabulous her life without him is. From the constant picture-taking (complete with jabs at him) to the excessive PDA on camera. If she were really that happy, she wouldn't even be thinking about him. She'd also be able to be in the same room with him without acting like a child. It'd be bad enough if she were really just so in love that she couldn't restrain herself, but the idea that she would make her children - including a minor child - uncomfortable and rush into another relationship just to "punish" Kody and get "revenge" is very spiteful and pretty reprehensible. -
Why the redundant noses? I admit I miss her videos and "oh brothers," too. Amy is very entertaining.

Rentals are in short supply and wildly expensive everywhere now, including no doubt Podunk, KY, where they live. Tammy can't "walk to shopping"; come on. Her lower joints are obviously shot. I'm sure she's probably on disability, as is Amy, and was paying Amanda with Section 8 money, as I'm sure she'll pay Chris, which is probably more than they would have gotten from their adult daughter. My impression is that Tammy is more than ready to become independent as soon as possible. I give her kudos for what she's achieved so far and think the farther away she gets from her undermining, scapegoating, dysfunctional family, the better off she'll be. I'd like to see her move to a subsidized apartment in a larger city with a public transit system; I'd watch that spin-off! As for Amanda, I thought it was odd that she'd gone to visit the BF "several times," but he (presumably) had never reciprocated; it didn't sound equitable. I also think she was the driving force behind Amy getting divorced, which I'm personally not convinced was necessary or the best move for any of them. Control freak!
-
It's funny how Tammy, who is always lumped in with Amy, seems to know how to keep her own house clean coming from the same background. Amy is just plain lazy, immature, and irresponsible. As for Tammy and driving, where does she need to go other than to doctors' appointments and the grocery? I seriously doubt if there's Uber or a taxi service where they live, and probably not even a public bus that could pick her up and transport her. Probably not a driving school, either. If her family members can't/don't want to/just grudgingly and resentfully help, then she really does need to move.
-
Tammy has more emotional maturity than two Amys put together, but I realize that's not saying much. Scarier than the thought of Tammy driving is the reality of Amy raising two children. I think the "panic attack" was producer-driven and that she'll probably learn to drive just fine. I'm not sure there are any driving schools or instructors out in rural Kentucky where they live, though. I agree with both Tammy and Chris that she would do well to move farther away from her family and to a subsidized apartment on a public transit bus line.

Tammy is the family scapegoat. It seems every TLC reality TV family has one, and she's it. No way did she deserve to be thrown out of the house for simply saying "I see where Amy's coming from." Blame it on pent-up frustration, pills, Mama Bear Syndrome (which is often hysterical) or whatever, but I do notice the other family members unify by dog-piling on Tammy. Amy's the insufferable and pathological one, in my view, yet she just turns on the water works (I'm not sure she's even squeezing out any real tears; it's mostly whining and scrunching) and gets away with murder. I must say I was amazed to see poor "blind" Amy, who needs people to drive her places and thus kisses Amanda's behind, reading the fine print on the condensed milk can. Even I can't do that without my cheaters or magnifier. I just hate to see Tammy vilified season after season -- and yet I'm watching it!

Maybe you don't know any young SAH (or even working) mothers who can't stop compulsively posting themselves or their kids all day and night, but I unfortunately do. They don't "shill products," but one actually coaches and changes her kids into new outfits throughout the day for the different videos. I'm sure more cash is always welcome (those stays at Disney don't come cheap), but I question if that's the main motivation. But agree to disagree. Never underestimate the power of dopamine hits! Especially for people who already crave attention.

She's probably doing it because she's bored. I honestly don't think they're hurting for money. So bored that she just posted a TikTok of herself lip-synching and dancing in her kitchen. Tori, put the phone down and grab those tools in your back pocket!
-
I've said it before: I think Tori consciously or unconsciously resents Lilah not being the perfect average-size Mini Me she was anticipating. Her disappointment at the time was very evident. We've seen her behavior and attitude toward her for years now. This was just another incident. I don't follow her, but read that she was getting criticized for it on social media. In other words, yes, I agree she yanked her way too hard and thought it funny. Tori has an odd sense of humor where Lilah's concerned! IMO, she has issues and needs help. As for "influencers," I know young mothers who, like Tori, spend all day every day posing and filming themselves and their children (against their will, since they're too young to consent) and posting it for the world to see, and they don't even get paid for it. It's an addiction.

Sarcopenia (accelerated muscle loss) is a known side effect GLP-1s. I don't know about bone loss, but it seems loss of appetite and/or inability to eat are keys to how this drug works, and it seems inevitable to me that if you're eating very little, there may be nutritional deficiencies that could impact bone health. But it's true that we don't really know what the full impact will be.

I thought it was going to be another of those "How is J so big??? You guys! I caaan't." moments (which are all too frequent with Tori and young mothers her age these days). Great teacher! In addition to the misspelling, there's a missing comma. Zach married his mother, from typos to control issues to holding grudges to her obsession with selfies.

I believe Fauci himself is on record as saying masks (other than N95) are ineffective against viruses, which is true, and that they just "made up" the social distancing concept. Clearly Kody and Robyn are among the many who were terrified and traumatized by the whole "panic approach" to Covid. More accurately, who totally lost their minds over it, never to regain them.

I don't understand how Christine can move a minor child out of state. If Kody is enough of a bio father to pay child support, then it seems to me he should have the same parental rights to visitation and easy access that any legally divorced father would have, and I know that in the case of divorce, you CAN'T move a minor child out of state, making visitation and access difficult. I suppose if Christine sues, the courts will decide. Probably not, after TLC money and fame, but few polygamists hit it big with a TV show, so MOST of them take advantage of the system by claiming to be single mothers of dependents, and this family certainly did with their 16 (or however many) kids they had before TLC. They even have a term for it: "bleeding the beast."
-
Yes; Christine (and maybe the others) were "single mothers with dependents." One reason some states crack down on polygamy is because of this welfare fraud. She always had the best pantry because she got the most food stamps (this was said on the show). If so, I would assume Medicaid paid the hospital bills. Maybe she did the money grab for travel expenses, as I recall they made it a cross-country road trip prior to the surgery. As for kicking sons out at 18, that's a religious/cultural thing with them (in their religion). It happened to Kody, so that's what he knows.

I thought it was Christine who said she thought Meri had plans to spend Thanksgiving with "her kids" (I assume incl. Leon's partner), adding, of course, that she doesn't speak to Meri, because she always has to add that, being Christine.
-
Okay. So is your theory that they DID meet for Thanksgiving, but she didn't want to say lest Leon receive hate for it? I just found that odd.
-
Well, she was always going just for herself anyway, toting along kids who were far too young to remember, or even comprehend, the trip. I think Matt and Cha-Cha used to foot the bill for the family then.
-
So, do we believe Meri was really sick over Thanksgiving or that Leon cancelled on her or that they never had plans to begin with? They don't seem very close, to put it mildly. Unfortunately, when you no longer have family, you're liable to end up spending family holidays all alone.

Sort of like Christine, who only wanted to be the THIRD wife and was just fine with him having a favorite as long as she believed it was HER. Kody won't be getting another wife. He's truly, deeply in love for the first time in his life with Robyn. He THOUGHT he was or could be a polygamist, but after 30 years he wasn't; people change. Like MOST men who divorce their wives, he doesn't love his former wives (is that so unusual? I think most children of divorce get this). And like MOST fathers in his culture, he isn't warm and fuzzy to 18+ years old "adult" sons. His own father wasn't toward him; in fact, they're kicked out of plural families/households. Like MOST of us, he's human and flawed. Personally, I think the online "mob with torches and pitchforks" is getting old. All he needs is a big black handlebar mustache to twirl along with his golden curls, LOL. It's now becoming "Kody Derangement Syndrome."
-
If Robyn "always wanted polygamy," why did she initially marry a monogamist and/or at least have a monogamous relationship with him? Boy, she sure has Kody wrapped around her little finger! You can really see in that standing-in-the-snow conversation how completely she controls and manipulates him. Even gaslights him, since she was the one who wanted him all to herself and now wants him reaching out to the kids and even allowing himself to be abused by them. You can see Kody's eyes dart around trying to figure out what she wants now. I think she's literally driven the guy crazy... That said, I can totally see the kids ganging up on him and making him out to be the bad guy; nothing unites like a common enemy, and it feels like they're bonding over this. Nothing is that one-sided or black-and white, and they're all adults now and old enough to understand that no one is perfect and there are two sides to every story. I also firmly believe that Christine, who has the mentality of a 15-year-old high school mean girl, has egged them on.
-
-
Exactly; she's always thought she was all that and a bag of chips when in fact she's laughably naive and unrealistic. I personally think the BF is a hired actor (or someone she found online that TLC offered to pay). Agree about "The Olivia Show," which I think she's been Jonesin' for for some time now. She certainly (inexplicably) seems to have the fan base to support it!

As I said, we could quibble about Janelle's career all day (and it looks like we're going to). I was also a state employee, and we were vested after just five years. A lot of people who worked elsewhere would start a second career there after retiring just to get the second pension, however small. As you worked more and more years, more of your health insurance would be covered by the state: 25, 50, 75, and then 100%. I'm unsure whether Janelle withdrew her actual pension money or just took cash from her 401k account (ours was called deferred compensation and, although not matched and entirely voluntary, was a good way to save; you could withdraw it for certain reasons). At any rate, we can't know for sure. I just seriously doubt if she's broke.

One unfortunate side effect of these GLP-1s is sarcopenia -- the loss of muscle mass, strength, and function which is normally associated with aging, but which appears to be accelerated in users of this drug. Should be interesting to see the long-term ramifications with now one in seven Americans taking it. Whitney was definitely having trouble scaling that hill and even controlling her descent and noted that her elderly father, in contrast, was acing it.
